Juventus And Atletico Madrid Fighting For N7.1 Billion-Rated Super Eagles Star

Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru is generating transfer interest from top European clubs Juventus and Atletico Madrid, as per reports.
The Daily Mail is reporting that there is a possibility that Everton will sell the striker without him playing an official game for the club he joined in the summer transfer window, although it appears he is not eligible to be granted a work permit in England.
Onyekuru may be searching for his first goal in a European club competition after three games, but has been in the headlines for his performance against PSG on Wednesday and his brilliant start to his career at Anderlecht.
It cost Everton seven million pounds to acquire the Nigerian from Eupen and any club interested in signing him when the window opens will have to pay in the region of £15million (approximately N7.1 billion) for his services.
Atletico Madrid are scouring the market for a long-term replacement for Fernando Torres and Onyekuru is on their agenda.
The 20-year-old has more than four years left on his contract with Everton.

Nwakaeme?pls what can u say so far on his performance this season coz is not encouraging especially in a very average Isreali league,no goal just one assist and surprisingly some are still rating him as a player to break into Eagles XI.

Pls i need your inputs.
I think dessers should be called also...
after all....he is a CF
unlike the other hybrid like nacho and co...
he should be tried and see what he can offer...
one thing you can never take away from strikers is...their positioning
any striker who can position himself well...will always score goals...onyekuru good at this too
I think the young lad should be tried

if we really wanna be sincere S Moses is not the best Nigeria winger in the Belgian league...
Dennis and Olayinka have done better this season...if not that the time is too short and coupled wit the fact he has not been doing badly in the SE colors they would have been need to clamour for those guys....
I still see the possibility of one of them making the cut if they can get involved in not less than 20 goals this season...

I never said Efe should not play for Nigeria. He could very well be younger than Balogun.

However, Komekn always talks about the lack of records in Nigeria when discrediting players ages but he ignored it here because he is an advocate of Efe.

That was the point, i was driving at.
exactly well said...bro.
and him adjusting league comparison just to give the Scottish league a hype....leave me baffled.

You have shown your unmitigated prejudice and dislike for Efe Ambrose. Because Balogun is actually older than him.
you make me laugh...sir
on paper...yes I know balogun is older..
but going wit your assertion on home grown talents and the doubt about their age...
balogun should be younger...
you brought up those assumptions and now...I expect you to employ same in assesing both ages...

afterall efe started in Nigeria domestic scene....
judge his age same way you've been doing towards homegrown lads....

until then...balogun is younger

I was surprised this morning when I started seeing Awaziem-Ekong pairing here.

Is it that people are wishing Balogun ill so that Awaziem will get to play against Algeria?
it is not what you think oooo

Thank u.The issue here is this,am always agape sometimes when people always contradict themselves,i don't expect anyone that go against IK Uche, Martins to support Efe Ambrose invitation.

Honestly they are Nigerian and eligible for invitation, if Rohr believe in them no issue but d question is do we need them in d national team.
that's a big question sir...only those clamouring for their invitation have got the answers....
and still find it difficult to pass it thru my throat....because it taste sour

and someone here telling me how he caged Celtic strikers...
I am not against his recall but for now...he is no way better than those on ground...
moreover how will he...manage the feeling of sitting on the bench as backup for much younger ekong and balogun, shehu etc

Reading through I noticed that there are two camps as regards the old players /new players debate. komekn, mickael2 are in the forefront calling for players like Obafemi Martins, Ike Uche, Efe to be recalled, Humility017 firmly leads the camp for the newbies to drive us into the future. Personally I wish Martins and co happy retirement. The only old player I'd love to see recalled is Enyeama and among the new players I'd definitely love to see Onyekuru, Dessers, Bazee, Tammy and either Uduokhai or Torunarigha in the mix. Once we have Enyeama, Mikel, Echiejile, Onazi and Ighalo that would complete the 'experienced players' plank at strategic points in the team.
Martins and the rest have become fans like the rest of us and they should be wishing the team success just as I saw Efe doing before our Match against Zambia. Soja come, Soja go, barrack still dey

These are incredible assumption with multiple variables to make any kind of futuristic projection is entirely flawed.

If Awoniyi had not been born in Nigeria and played U17 he would not have been known.

If he was born in England he may have chosen, athletics, basketball, rugby, cycling, boxing, etc etc.and not football.

If he chose football who says he would have made the cut. Let's say he was born in Dalston Hackney and decided to be a drug dealer, and gun totting gangster. Or in the alternative be a musician.

Or study and become a Doctor, accountant or lawyer.

You simply cannot make those kind of futuristic assumptions because you are born in England. Was it not that idiot Michael Adebanjo that in his misguided fanaticism beheaded a off duty soldier in broad day light in London. He was born in London if he was born in Nigeria that would never have happened.

So you see using futuristic probables based on location of birth is simply not feasible.
hmm.....had it been he is British ..and he choosed to play football...with all things being equal....with his present football skills and talent...he will probably make the cut in Liverpool and not be fummed out on loan
even many a time some of this English clubs find it difficult going after Africa players and capping those they're already signed like Henry onyekuru because of the work permit rule....not necessarily that they're not good enough....

it is a bit more easier for English citizens to thrive and be given opportunities than non British especially Africans.... also the world class facilities at the academics and teams can hardly be seen elsewhere in Africa....
this sometimes work against this lads when they leave for Europe I remember enyeama during his trials at Bolton wanderers of England...

I just comment your point up there....really reasonable. but I think sir goodjoe write earlier from my angle...

Again you still do not want to learn. I do not care about your opinion as regards to Ambrose and Awaziem, it's your opinion and should be respected. Why I said you should keep quiet was because you wanted to reduce Hibernian to a low-level, relegation contender which is false, they are 6th and they held Celtic..

PSG beat Bayern by....4? That means Bayern isn't any better than the mid table teams in the Ligue1 I guess.
but you saw what bayern did to same Celtic...
let them play bayern first at their homeground then you will tell me of that...

that's how parochial your mind is....

I saw your first reply before you modified it and wanted to ignore, but you changed it so let me make some things clear.

I can come to an engineering gathering and start saying things that are not accurate and an engineer will tell me to keep quiet that I do not know what I am saying, it is not an insult just the truth, I said keep quiet not shut up, if you took it as an insult then sorry.

Has Nantes played against PSG? Monaco? No. Has Hibernian played against Celtic? Yes. The outcome? A draw? The hero? Ambrose.

What position does Nantes currently occupy?
i have to modified it....reason to be polite as much as i can even though I see those words you put up there as trash...

let me tell you...you're not an expert in this field...your opinion of football facts are mere yours...and should not think you better know than everyone else...hence no need for the engineering analogy.

regarding your question in Nantes FC.....they're currenrly occupying the 5th spot on the league table...same points wit Marseille and saint-etenne and wit even a game at hand...

let me say this....Celtic is not in same level wit Bordeaux or Montpellier and nantes have played both....

PSG I think on the 18 next month...
if PSG could humiliate Celtic that much right in their stadia before their home fans....I don't think they're better than any middle level placed team in French ligue 1

just in case you're not civil or polite....let this be the last time you tell me such.
because common sense should tell u the team awaziem currently play and the players he play against weekly...is miles ahead of that obtained in the Scottish league...
and considering the age factor

Official : Argentina FA Announce Pre-World Cup Friendly With Nigeria In Krasnodar
The Argentine Football Association have announced a pre-World Cup friendly with three-time African champions Nigeria, ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The South American powerhouse will start their preparations for next summer's showpiece with a high-profile exhibition match against the Super Eagles in the Arena of FC Krasnodar on November 14.

The stadium, owned by FC Krasnodar of the Russian Premier League, has a capacity of 34,291 spectators.

Nigeria have met Argentina four times at the World Cup, losing by the odd goal in each of the matches.

In USA 94, Argentina, who were inspired by Diego Maradona, beat Nigeria 2-1 with Samson Siasia on target for the Africans, Argentina won their opening game in the 2002 World Cup 1–0 against Nigeria thanks to a second-half goal by Gabriel Batistuta.

Seven years ago in South Africa, Heinze's sixth minute goal proved to be the winner in their opener against Nigeria, while Ahmed Musa bagged a brace in a 3-2 loss to the two-time world champions at Estádio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre in 2014.

Nigeria's last competitive match of 2017 comes away at Algeria on November 10.

Not trying to rubbish your list. But we must understand the purpose for which some of these friendlies are played.

Firstly, it is not every time you get the opportunity to face an Argentine team that has the likes of Leonel Messi, Di Maria and co. Let us have the opportunity of testing our "Oyinbo wall" against these top players. If they can handle Messi, Dybala and Di Maria effectively that could give them the mental strength to face other attackers in the world cup.

We should focus more on exposing our 'A' team more than the fringe players. Only 3 of the whole sqaud have played in the world cup. It basically means over 70% of the 'A' team are green horns as far as facing opponents of that calibre is concerned.

We need our 'A' team to play more together. Thank God there are rooms for 6 substations we can be introducing those fringe players little by little.

So for that Argentina friendly we must start our best.
unfortunately Leon may likely not be available....
and for elderson please...you and I know...how pacy this Argentina team is...let's start aina...

Nothing like that. This kind of friendly is to test the strength of your 'A' team. It should be an insight as per how our team would fair against an 'A' opponent. This could give us the mental strength to face big teams in the world cup.

If we want to test the fringe players we play against an average opposition.
sir....I think otherwise....
let me say this....the best way to know those who are good enough to play in the SE is to test them on opponents good enough to play the SE and not a low class team...only for them to star in such match and fumble at the world cup proper when we play star stunded team...

the program of rohr should be aimed at getting a quality bench as good as the first team... (starting 11) anything beside this....is beyond excellence...

many of this players we can fringe players we make the starting 11 of any Africa team...

someone like Henry will make the starting 11 of any Africa team...likewise awaziem and Dennis...
