something silently is happening in that country's football....
if well managed...it could extend/translate to their senior men's football team...

It's pretty much simple these so called old legs as you call them. Are tried tested and proven at the highest levels if football.

These young ones are mainly untested, unproven and yet to play anywhere near the highest levels of football.

Essentially these players have just one quality they are young. After that potential but not much else in comparison. So why not call all these potential and test them against the old legs. Because the current best RB in the world is Brazilian international Danny Alves who is 34. Or should we talk about Evra French international who is 36.

I prefer the best players young or old if you are good enough you are old enough.
you and I know the mystery behind the age of this players...it won't be good we start wash our dirty linens here....

you always talk ill of Africa football ages when you want to promote your players...born somewhere in Europe but turn the table around when....you wanna promote your old Nigeria players....

so take a look at the ages of those players you're talking part and tell me with all sincerity if they're true....

The judgment goes to the approach on the field. Even if Rohr had ten tech assistants, we can not deny the fact that in the game against South Africa, there was deficiency in the reading of the game. Also some of our team play and coaching shows gap in the depth of our technical play.

Unless proven otherwise from our games, I will opt for a sound tactician to join the crew. My pick remains Amunike.
God forbid amuneke work wit the super eagles...
amuneke is one man with so much knowledge of football but his greed is his problem...
he is someone I think is only after the money he will make and not the name and reputation he will get....

please...I don't want him near the eagles...

you can create a team and put him in charge of your team...and not super eagles ..

If we can't get Akpoguma, Uduokhai, Ilori, Iorfa and Torunarigha then I think Ambrose and Omeruo should be given the chance though I am not impressed with Omeruo because he was not impressive the last time I watched him.

Omeruo Headline New Names In Squad For Algeria, Argentina Games, Ebuehi Returns

In-form Kasimpasa defender Kenneth Omeruo who is on loan to the Turkish side from English Premier League outfit Chelsea has been handed a recall to the senior national team of Nigeria by coach Gernot Rohr.
Rohr has omitted the player from his list for the last three games in the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers, with his last call up coming in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against South Africa where he was benched for Chidozie Awaziem in the 0-2 loss in Uyo.
The Franco-German coach has consistently maintained that the 24 year old need regular run of games before he can be called back into the team, and with Omeruo recent fine form for Kasimpasa has been handed a recall for the games against Algeria and Argentina.
Nigeria will play Algeria in a dead rubber World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie on the 10th of November before taking on Argentina in a high profile friendly game on the 14th in Russia.

Omeruo is not the only new name expected to be included in the squad that prosecuted the last three games for Nigeria as there is also a recall for Henry Onyekuru who was last called up for the game against South Africa.
Onyekuru will replaces injured Chelsea ace Victor Moses, while Tyronne Ebuehi of ADO Den Haag who was on standby in the last Eagles list has been invited and he will most likely make his debut against Algeria.

the need to look the way of Nigerians especially the kids that have openly declared for this country.
this kids should be encouraged, recognized and if they are good enough....invite them for training/screening...and let the best be picked....

if we go with this approach....we will struggle less to get this kid when they eventually rise to stardom....
change of nationality switch is often not easy and time consuming....

we should adopt this approach...

also....the nff need to learn treat well profesional footballers with dual nationality that have openly declared for nigeria wit recognizarion and value...

for example otigba openly declared for us and even refuse the Hungarian FA invitation all because he wanna play for eagles only to be overlooked by some national team coaches wit greed motives....
then otigba was doing better than some of current team defenders them.....

That's an assumption you make.

Kayode is as it stands he is not first choice at Gerona he is now playing in a better league than the lowly Austrian league. How many goals has he scored this season huh

We can make excuses for KC as much as we like, he has left the quality support of City and now he must prove himself. He is struggling if the truth must be told. How many goals has he scored in the EPL this seasonhuh

Obagoal has scored in every league and has been outstanding quality. How many goals has he scored this seasonhuh I wonder

Is Ighalo betterhuh I really don't know, they are different types of player. Statistically they are essentially on par.
you make me laugh...Martins has scored in every league he played...
but how many will he score now in the epl or la liga....?
those were glorious old days...
same martins will struggle in la liga and epl.
you saw how same ighalo struggled in the epl but now lightening up the Chinese league.....
mind you...kayode is far ahead of martins
his team play is top notch and has contributed to his team victory more often even though he does not get to score...

from your research...what position is the Chinese league...when it comes to league comparative analysis...

is the league better than the Danish league...or even the Dutch league you rated so lowly...?

I see your glamour for these old legs who are not doing anyway better as a means to destabilize the team...

what will Martins offer to the SE that have been lacking....?

what has he done this season for his Chinese side...?

how long does he still have in the round leather game ?
we need young and hungry players....

my dear thank you for this.

Some people are just here repeating "Martins is a threat to yoir favourite" upandan as if it will make the clamour seem legit...

Martins is not a threat to any of the core fourteen, he is a surplus to requirement.

This guy has not been in the fold since 2015 abi when? He has never played under Rohr, he is not used to Rohr's philosophy and he certainly will not get it before the World Cup simply because it is harder to teach an old dog new tricks than to teach a puppy.

I don't even know who brought up this nonsense Martins argument. I will rather we snatch Tammy Abraham from England and take him to the World Cup than Martins, that is how much I don't want to see Martins in this team.

Tammy will blend, Tammy will find a group to join and he will click with them off the pitch which will resonate on the pitch.

I am concerned with Team Chemistry and some people here just want some bull dozer that will play gragra football without any concern for the rest of the team

His age is not the problem, it is his ability to blend that I have issues with.
you see team chemistry is more broad...it also encompassed...team bond and unity...
this young players fits in well....into this category..
there is mutual respect and the team spirit is high...a team of that kind rarely suffer defeat.....will this folks willingly take instructions from mikel?
how will.they feel if they have sit on the bench for younger players?

I doubt the sincerity of the crusaders for Martins inclusion...because if they can sincerely answer the above questions...

the call for martins invitation will be aborted

objective analysis would involve you placing each player side by side, mentioning their advantages and disadvantages without furthering the cause of any player.

There is nothing objective when you are just talking about one player and making mostly speculative comments.

Mikel is still in the fold and is relevant to us for now, and he is nowhere near 40, so why don't we wait till then to judge his comment? Or do you genuinely think Mikel will be playing with us till he is 40?

Compare Martins with the other players whose shirts he is going for and leave Mikel out of it, last I checked, I is not Mikel's shirt Martins is being considered for.

BTW, the third CF position is going to anyone who is comfortable chilling on the bench and Martins is not your guy

If you are talking based on your feeling for other strikers chances especially the untested ones, then well, you are right. Its your feeling and I will not castigate you for that. But please try respect other people's point of view and perspective and not rubbish it. If you disagree with my points, you can politely advance your reasons.

I have elaborated on the things Martins brings to the table. Too bad you dont wanna hear the mention of Martins but frankly, I wasnt even comparing him at the expense of Dessers, or Onyekuru or onuachu. Its all about objective analysis. If he is good and can help in a way or the other, so be it. Forget about this he is too old or he wants to retire. Here is Mikel Obi that said he will not retire he still wants to be playing till he is 40. I dont see anybody telling him to shut up. If he has it then, why not? Who is to determine if he can play or not?
please how good is this Martins that you guys are clamouring for?
or does Martins now have agents here on nairaland...

same Martins that ighalo is currently ahead of in far away China in top scorers charts
and some persons are clamouring for his recall....
what is he going to offer the SE?
playing in China and you wanna refuse young lads the exposure they deserve....
you know what....let the SE highest goal scorers and league quality be used to pick players....

to be honest those clamouring for the call of these old legs think no good for the SE....
I have begin to see some as some of these players relatives and agents....

I personally said we should not make further moves as regards Tammy as there was nothing more to do. Pinnick already set the ball rolling. Pinnick had met with his agent and dad. Now that's a top level meeting, not play play like Tammy was suggesting to the press, just cooling things down.

So it's not a matter of leaving Tammy alone. Is a matter of how quick the switch they are with the process.

whenever Tammy's switch takes effect he is free to come to the battle. And I'm sure Rohr will give him a chance. I think he and Onuachu are similar however, and if Onuachu comes good for us, Tammy may lose the battle. But first Onuachu needs to get his chance. Let me not jump the gun.
