Nigeria Victor Moses Out For Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury Picked Up In Chelsea Shock Loss
Victor Moses Out For Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury Picked Up In Chelsea Shock Loss Chelsea Nigerian wing-back Victor Moses is feared out for a minimum of six weeks after picking up a hamstring as Chelsea suffer a shock 1-2 loss to Crystal Palace. Moses started the game but limped out of the game after 40 minutes after going down with a suspected hamstring as he charged forward to help Chelsea set up an attack with scores tied at 1-1. The Nigerian who had a hand in the leveller scored by Chelsea by winning the corner kick that lead to the goal watched on from the bench as Wilfred Zaha struk what ended as the winner, one minutes after the restart. Back at the club where he started his career, the Nigerian was given a standing ovation by the home fans as the doctors helped him out of the pitch with what informed sources say is a harmsting injury. Although he is set to undergo scan to determine the severity of the injury initial reports suggest he could be out for a minimum of six weeks, which effectively rules him out of Nigeria’s next World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Algeria in Algier
safarigirl: they can cap him. He should be going, we've lost better players anyway
Y'all need to forget this boy and move on....I've moved on, dunno why some are still stuck on him. Y'all look sad
Babe relax...I undertand. but you know...we should not give up not until he get capped... if england could still attempt to stop iwobi at the very last minute from playing for us... why can't we do same....
after all we guys can attest to the butter experience and challenge we incur why wooing a lady we love so much...
some even toast for years...before fortune eventually smile on them....
komekn: To be honest OUTSTANDING, this boy has only played academy football up until last season.
It's an indication of the depth of quality in some of these youth teams of the top clubs. To become a top goal scorer in the championship in relegation battling team is simply immense.
Aina leaves youth team at Chelsea and he is the best RB in the championship in a few weeks of football.
Consider that Iwobi had not played a senior game for Arsenal before he was capped by Nigeria.
It means we are not doing our homework well. Some of these boys need to be capped straight away. When I said some of the players we talk about playing in obscure leagues may not be good enough for the youth teams of Chelsea and similar. Some were offended.
I have watched Tega since he was 15 I knew he was good but not this good. If Tega can be scoring in a struggling team that don't create many chances at all. What would he be like if he was in a top team.
komekn: If he was that good why did Liverpool let him go
If he was that good WHY were all the teams in French League 1 not in a desperate que to buy him
He was so good he never played one game in the premiership for Liverpool, explain
Gomez at 18 left league 1 and Charlton Athletic and straight into Liverpool first team. Leaving Ilori to watch with Envy, Why
Not one premiership team registered interest in Ilori why because he was so good
So it's all newspaper talk with no substance.
bro...please leave forgiveness wit this ilori and ajagun talk... he keep bringing up players that will near SE camp...especially ilori.... me...just thinking about this Tammy of a boy... I had wish pinnick and rohr can make a move one more time....
Tyronne Ebuehi has ruled out playing for the Netherlands, saying that Nigeria first gave him the opportunity to represent an international team.
As long as he has not been cap-tied by the Nigeria Football Federation, the door is still open for the right back to turn out for the Dutch National teams but the Haarlem-born starlet is hoping to follow in the footsteps of William Troost-Ekong. ''But I will not do that anymore (play for the Netherlands, ed) . If you play for ADO Den Haag in all respects, there is a chance that you will be at the Dutch team,'' Ebuehi said to northside.nl. ''The competition here is great. Of course, you never know what the future looks like, but I got this chance from Nigeria and thought I had to get it.'' He added : ''William is in the first team. I still know him from his time at Dordrecht. He has developed tremendously and is a great example for me.'' Ebuehi's only appearance for the Super Eagles to date was against Togo in an international friendly in June. Igho Kingsley Football News
you're welcome.... at least they've begin to eye the super eagles....I will want us to go for tomori too ...the guy is good...being a defender who must have been tutored by Chelsea FC over the years...and also he is a CB.
England Youth International Defender Eager To Hear From Super Eagles Coach Rohr
England youth international defender Dominic Iorfa is eager to represent Nigeria if called up by coach Gernot Rohr ahead of their preparations for the World Cup 2018 in Russia. Iorfa who is on loan to English Championship side Ipswich Town from fellow Championship team Wolverhampton Wanderers has represented England at various youth levels. Two years ago he trained with the senior team of England as back up after the team were hit with several withdrawals while in camp for a friendly game. However the defender who snubbed overtures from Nigeria as his father Dominic Iorfa Snr insist on his son reaching the age of 22 before deciding his future, has now declared for Nigeria. ” He is at the age now , where a decision on his international future has to be made, and like his father said few months ago, he is ready to play for Nigeria, but he is yet to be called up”, a family source told Owngoalnigeria.com. Mujtahida: At that stage of the qualifiers if Aina had flopped by making an error would you forgive him? Till date Omeruo has not been forgiven by many for his slip in a game we won in Ndola at the very beginning of the campaign not to talk of match day 5 with Zambia breathing down our back.
mind you...aina is a better player at present than omeruo....forget about this experience thing...a better player is a better player... and so there is not way he would have made the mistake omeruo made...
we are talking of a defender here...who only don't sit defend but also offer something in the attack....a defender that can make good cross and square up pass...
it is risky never to take a risk...balogun and co should be thanked for coming to shield elderson severally when the occasion demands....he really tried though but was poor for LB
PDPGuy: These coaches can still learn under Rohr or some other manager. With time, they will learn the finer art of man management; so I'm not ruling them out completely from managing the Super Eagles.
Remember that Oliseh quit the Eagles primarily because he was owed his salary. But as the NFF seem to be a lot more professional in running their affairs, Oliseh/Siasia could be the next gaffers for the national team. Right now, Oliseh is close to being the first Black African to coach a team in Europe's top seven leagues.
let me say this..... it takes only an humble and a teachable person to learn...
not everyone you see out there are humble... so they can work wit rohr for ages....if they're not humble or rather has pride in excess they will remain same way...
mind you....oliseh almost tore the team into pieces...his row wit Vincent and later make musa the captain... his brother ex-academy players were all drafted into the SE...and were all given ample time to play trash...
likewise benching mikel for onobi
I will rather keep a close eye on finidi George and pray he proves different and come successful.... he can as well manage the SE wit yusuf in the future.... moreover he looks level headed to me...
and for siasia...he is a little bit a man manager....but his problem...is always him having his boys and playing and inviting them at the expense of better players
komekn: You comment are too generalistic to have any substance.
I talked specifically about Omeruo. My bench mark measurement for competence is your performances within your parent club and or loan club.
Omeruo has been CB for some time now who showed considerabe promise. That is why Chelsea bought him.
However to date, he has never played for Chelsea that's not progress. Omeruo went on loan to Middlesbrough he was at best average, that is an underperformance. He has played in the Eredivisie and Turkish league but on all occasions he has not stood out as a top player in what are obscure leagues. That is not a sign of overriding quality.
Consider the small boys Nathan Ake after a few loan moves he transferred to Bournemouth for £20 million plus. That is progression. Kurt Zouma was at Chelsea played a good season before being injured. EPL Clubs were literally fighting to get him on loan.
So explain how my objective assessment of his career is bias against him and or Nigeria. Unless you expect me to enthron mediocrity because he is Nigerian that would then be clear and obvious bias.
you call Turkish league and Dutch league...obscure ? you need no....reasonable person to tell you that the answer to the bolded is revealed in that careless word
sometimes your inability to find a balance in this your sentiment towards English football leaves me baffled.
you shouldn't be saying this.... a league may not be in the level of the epl but that does not mean it is obscure...
I am tired of replying you on this...because you always look for unfounded facts to back up your assumptions....
and for omeruo I think his constant loan moves has infringed on his performances...he ought to settle somewhere and grow his potentials and not shuttling from club to club.....
PDPGuy: In that case, Siasia could be drafted into the team. Rohr should even request for Siasia's help too.
Then, in 2 year's time, a combo of Oliseh and Siasia should coach the SE cos they are about the best Nigerian coaches at the moment.
bro what are you saying....? how come we Nigerians always don't learn from the past.... oliseh can never manage the eagles....except you wanna watch a quack and non-unified team...
coaching is not just abt tactics but also man management which oliseh lack....
he should stick to club football and forget about the super eagles.... and for siasia....yes he is good...especially when it comes to playing European and south America countries.... but still has a lot to learn when it comes to man management and players selection
MaritzaNL: I so much hate this public proposal of a thing. I like a proposal to be discreet.
just be happy for them...proposal can come in any way and in any form... the most important thing is that both partners are happy and agreed to marry each other..... it is not about the proposal you know....but those who have agreed to come and spend the rest of their lives together
jihday: and if he had flopped, it's you and your ilk that will come and blame coach for not sticking to what has been working, Oga coach carry go jare and disregard all these armchair analyst.
safarigirl: if there was a dislike button. I would have disliked his comment with four different monikers, I swear.
I read the first three lines and I was pissed on behalf of Kelechi. He need not attack the boy like that just to hurt Goodjoe....damn, even me wey fit dislike some players, I no fit write that kain epistle just to prove how much they have regressed.
Haba! People should have a heart mbok. Na pesin pikin Kelechi be and na work wey e dey do, e no fit pain you say e dey regress pass as e dey pain the boy.
that's their epistle.... I don't knw what many expect from a lad who came in against Cameroon with few minutes left to play...he registered his name on the scoresheet... same lad....has the highest number of goals....amongst present SE strikers....including the ighalo himself...
I told those who cares to listen....that had it been he played in that Zambia match he would have scored....
However, he came to Liverpool and couldn't cope with the speed, intensity and the physicality.
Yes I did see him when he first came, to us it was obvious he was light weight. He was promptly sent to the gym to beef up.
He was use to playing pretty tip tap football in the Portuguese league. He couldn't cope and never played one game for Liverpool in the premiership after near 4 years. That in my book is sadly a failed project and an indication of very limited ability. Or alternatively you could say good for the Portuguese league but woeful for the EPL.
The EPL is not for everyone it's the most competitive, physically intensive and fastest league in the World. Not everyone can cut it, unfortunately Ilori is one of those that couldn't cut it.
watch how forgiveness refute this wit facts and figures.... everyone knows that this guy....will never play for the SE. I wonder why my brother keep bringing up his name here...
Joebie: All we are doing is monitoring their progress. Many things can happen between now and then. Onyekuru is in the current SE set up. And that's a good thing.
Joebie: 8 months to the World Cup some of us can't wait to cry foul. Relax una blood too dey hot.
read my comment well...moreso, the dude has been consistent... should he head back to Everton January next year....Mark my words he will likely make the world cup squad....
Certitude: Sir Mickael2 just dey try run down d coach... My prayer is that the Super Eagles never get a tactical genius as coach... They all v been useless
at least....onazi will be allowed to rest for a while.... now it is rohr's turn
Danycrusoe: Bro even the British media have been coming to terms that the league x made interesting by foreign players not majorly English players, Harry Kane x the only English shinning light in that league then just Rashford, Ali and a couple of young goalkeepers the rest are just dere. their squad x mediocre and just average or a bit above at best. apart from Kane Dele Alli, the rest are just bunch of players enjoying prominence and popularity because of the EPL image nothing spectacular about them, Chamberlain, Theo Walcott even Stones are a good example of how mediocre their players are. Remove foreign players making waves from the league and what u v is a Scottish league. Komekn bias x based on his long stay over there and because he has seen a lot about the players and football in England which I don't blame him tho everyone has one bias or the other but komekn should know that the world doesn't start and end in the Epl and championship
I think your last sentence sums it all.... he envisaged the best players are found in the epl and championship reason for my long epistle.......
komekn: I had this discussion with you sometime ago but you still do not get it.
The EPL is unlike any other league across Europe. It is a completely international league in which English players have become the minority.
When you look at the top 6 on a lot of occasions they may field a first 11, with no more than 1-3 English players in the team. On some occasions not a single English player. That will never happen in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, France etc.
So although the EPL us the most competitive league in the World you it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO LARGELY with national team prominence and or dominance.
On the other hand there is no top 5 ranked nation by FIFA that will not have at least a number of thier highest performing and or top playing in the EPL.
I ask you directly. Can you say that of the Turkish, Belgium, Austrian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Swiss, Ukrainian, leagues, etc to name a few.
The comparison that you make is not substantively underpinned just mere sentiment.
Shehu is an exception and far very far from the general trend. Better players play in top leagues full stop and the best in the best teams and best leagues.
but from your comment earlier... you talked about the best being in the epl and championship... at least that should serve England...being that all their players play in the epl....even though it may not be among top 6 place teams... but still in the epl...you believed to be the best league in the world...
krattoss: I think rohr will move mountains with super eagles..
Come to think of it. .has any of our former coaches stayed this long without one or two rifts, beefs with the players or board??
I know definetely he will move mountains...for the first time...nff hire a foreign to qualify us for the world cup and not after we have qualified.... that's a plus...back then I had wished lagerback stayed wit us for like 2-4 years to build the team... now we have a respected and committed coach...
that's good....I am only not too comfortable wit his tactics which greatly manifested against RSA...and conservative approach... but every other he is a plus...
this is what you like....you've meet your twin brother.... I think oga michael took the criticism too far though... I am not just too comfortable wit rohr conservative approach... ...had it been he gets to start aina against Zambian...just imagine how many passes of that kind he flipped to Moses....our frontline would have enjoyed...
elderson with all due respect, nothing personal....could not make one of such pass....
