You never jam salary.
I tell you...especially when you're privileged to work in places like TOTAL E&P, NLNG etc...

the salary and job benefits for a GT from this place... is more than the average turn over for most Nigeria business...let alone a manager....

someone like Bab omotowa who rose from being a management trainee at NLNG to being the global vice president shell @ Netherlands now.... just don't wanna imagine his salary...

do you know that is more easier for southern born abroad to become even PM or president in their birth country and make positive impacts without prejudice or jaundice but reason because they can deliver than for them to be president in this country....

Ukraine is not a top team and therefore not a yardstick. They are not in the FIFA top 20. Even Senegal ranks above them.

That they beat Portugal proves nothing, just as it proves nothing that Madagascar beat us.

So like I said earlier, against top teams all we can do is defend deep for 90. minutes and hope on luck.

We are not there yet.
have you forgotten Ukraine have not lost an home match for a while now..

and Nigeria almost broke shevchenko record...

@aforbeer, abeg no listen to anyone oooooo, with the way 9ja be now na by grace of God to get a job that will be earning u 80k-150k monthly. this mentality of seeking for a job has made alot remain in the labor market for so many years while the wise ones who went ahead and acquired skills are doing far better. forget many 9ja babes and guy's "a whole me" mentality and get your hands dirty for a better tomorrow.

I am telling you this out of experience, you have to become a prayer warrior to get a good job in 9ja or have an Abraham who will offer that to you on a platter of gold. make hey while the sun still dey shine ooooo.

also if you get opportunity to flee from 9ja abeg no think twice. e no easy anywhere but before you go suffer for abroad for 3-4 years you will surely amount to something better.

LOL.

Self employed is clearly better for who?

I am telling you someone is collecting 900k as salary, and she got her first job after NYSC less than 10 years ago. You think everyone in salaried employment is working in civil service? Na civil service dem dey do that one pass. Some banks are paying 250k as starting salary.

Everything depends on the person, and opportunities. An enterpreneur can still lose all the money he has made in 15 years in one day. A lot of these self-employed people are heavily indebted to banks. Na loan dey move the business, any small kasala now, all the work is gone.
especially in Nigeria where you have to pay tax to the FIRS, state government, local government especially Amac here in Abuja...

you will have to pay ITF,NSITF and others...
also provide your own electricity, water, security and lots more.....

to be an entrepreneur in Nigeria is not child's play even the contract u will be getting gonna take connections to get them and you'll have to part with huge sum to grease palms sometimes

So what is your point? that salary job is better than being self employed.
both are good but not everyone will be salary earner and likewise not every one will be an entrepreneur....

it is even better for an entrepreneur to first work in well tailored corporate organization prior establishing his business as this will avail him.so much knowledge and discipline he needs to run a business

exactly.

Start from somewhere.

It is folly to start looking for 150k when you have not even gathered sufficient experience. This generation, everyone just wants to make fast money, nobody is waiting for the process. Even if you acquire skill finish, you still have to build a clientele, money will not just be flowing because you have a skill. Someone who is less informed, will now think everything is rosy for those that aren't under salary employment.

I know a lady that works in the Irish embassy, she makes 900k per month, minus allowances and trips to Ireland. Her last employment, she was making three times less, but that employment helped her learn Spanish, which was instrumental to getting this new job.

People are working in Shell, KPMG, Deloitte, and various well-paying NGOs and making more money than "Team Self-Employed" without disturbing the peace, at least salary money is sure for most, self-employed money is not. Even those in salaried employment learn many skills on the job, someone learnt Spanish courtesy of a job.

Na who no know road, go talk say road far.
exactly Dear....few years after you'll be glad you made moves.

Now watch job seekers besiege your inbox begging for connection. grin grin

Las las, we go dey alright Inshallah
Lol...the message I have for everyone is same...
start from somewhere...you can volunteer if there are no jobs, just make sure you're doing something.
remember close to 4 years ago I moved into the streets of Abuja with my 2.1 certificate no job...walking from one highbrow area to another.... but today story is quite different.

even Oga icon and others here that have been opportune to work in a reputable place all started from somewhere.

the problem with our generation is impatience...we wanna make it quick.

was surprised when I saw oga asking for a job slot in FIRS.... I just laugh.... that's an agency reserved for the presidency and co..even if I have a connection to get a job there will rather use it to fetch a contract....

You don't even know his situation, but you are quick to tell him how salary work does nor pay and paint a scenario that does not hold true for anyone. This is how some of you on this internet send people into criminal activity, by painting rosy pictures.

Aforbear, use your tongue to count your teeth. I am not saying you shouldn't learn whatever. Many people have made so much progress from this paid salary he is slating, mamy have done Masters and boosted their CVs from the opportunities paid salary afforded them, nobody is asking you to make it your all in all, but make nobody tell you that you can't earn up to 150k from paid salary. I know someone that makes up to 700k salary per month, so, you can make it o.

If you are looking for fast money, then paid employment is not your thing.

Anyway, na you dey wear shoe, na you know as e dey do you. I trust you have a discerning mind and you will choose what is best for you, eventually. Na you get life, nobody on NL will rescue you if anything happens.

Goodluck.
I know someone in my unit in church whose basic salary is more than N10M per annual.

someone too pays a tithe of N1.5M monthly....

abeg. ..this are salary jobs.
the one that earns over N10M... per annual
is not even up to 40 years....
he is a fellow in ICAN and a finance director in a very reputable NGO....

he told me he started with a job that pays a meagre salary... and today he is doing well for himself.
it is good to start from somewhere.... the most important thing is to keep moving and pushing

Honestly, I am not sold on Maduka. He looked jittery, and didn't have much to do. That being said, I don't think we have enough to fault his game, cos the Nigerian team was under a lot of pressure. He deserves another chance though. For those suggesting Ezenwa should have been called upon instead, I think you should fold your arms an wait. A good number of us here have repeatedly faulted Maduka' s call-up, so it's only reasonable that Rohr features him, perhaps there is something he sees in the guy, we are not seeing. Perhaps there are still some stuffs he's not completely clueless about grin. For Aribo, although the guy looks good, for the last 2 games the guy faded away for a large part of the second half. If you ask me, I think that's a problem, but again the whole team was bad during that period of storm. It could either be tactics (lack of continuity over two halves) or just the way he plays. I would assume it's the former though given his moment of brilliance late in the game, although even the worst of players are allowed to be brilliant momentarily. We really need that number 10. Iwobi has been consistently disappearing these days. Chukwueze, such a talented young chap, overconfidence will not kill you. In situations where the right back matches you pace for pace, only your decisions can put you over the hump. I liked Ajayi's burst forward into the midfield area but you better be sure of what you are doing man grin. Ekong, as usual what can say, the guy has grown into his role at the heart of the defence. Ndidi, floor general manhandling the samba boys earlier on in the midfield. Awaziem, solid overall, impressed by his timely defending generally, didn't impress much on the offensive though. Jamilu was not quite good overall, but he had his moments defensively. Osimhen, teriffic upfront. I said it a while ago, he can be devastating when he moves around, wide sometimes. Onuachu, i guess he was brought in to bring the brazilian backline under pressure, by feeding off long balls, but he was literally running around like he had a boil on his balls grin. Moses wasn't good, but he wasn't terrible either. He needs to add more spices to his game. He was helping out defensively, that's good when you are not doing too well upfront, and that assist was timely, he passed it when there was just enough space for Aribo to penetrate. Usually, for every team there is a period of storm within a match, but finding a way to weather the storm, when it starts mounting is a quality of a good coach. Rohr has mostly failed in that aspect so far. It's becoming a trend. I don't like Rohr, he stagnates a lot, I would think that's the limit of his understanding of the game, and he has not evolved much with this team, I guess we can blame old age for that grin.He manages to get some decent results though. Peace.
maduka tired in one of his response to the corner kicks... he was brilliant enough to wade off the ball off the Brazilians into the open filed....

Onuachu had a decent game to me, he has been slated left, right and center.

From my perspective it seems he came on to bring stability and create an outlet. The midfield later in the game was getting over run.

Onuachu became the outlet long balls sent to him, taking pressure off the midfield and allowing him to hold up play. l didn't see him going forward but sitting deep mostly to be an outlet.

In that restrictive role l thought he did satisfactory.
I think you didn't watch the match...

I think Onuachu need one more game with the Super Eagles ... his movement today was awful and lack confidence . There was a time he had the opportunity to open up for Chukwueze but made the wrong run ..also was too static . One more game as a final warning !!!
