The day i heard the Special adviser to the President say that the poorest Nigerians do not have a bank account and live in villages, i knew that this guys have either not done their homework well or just wanted an easier way to loot our treasury.

I grew up in a village, and i can say with full confidence that urban poverty is worse than rural poverty, its hard to see a family in a village go to bed hungry, the hardly pay rent, though many may not have bank accounts, but i bet the have savings in one Esusu union or another.

Majority of Nigeria's poorest of the poor are in urban ghettos, living in face me i face you or 'batchas', the might even have bank accounts, but survival is a day by day struggle.

The average Nigerian is greedy and self centred, he pretends sometimes like he cares about others, but he only cares about himself and his immediate family, he worships the rich because of what he can get from them, and detest the poor because he can't gain anything from them.

He loves going to church or mosque, not because he wants to be a better human being, but because he is afraid of the afterlife, he pays millions in tithes to his rich church and Pastor, but he pays his gateman less than minimum wage.

When i tell people that this country will never change for the better, the always say am a pessimist, and prophet of doom, but i always ask 'em, where is the change for the better going to come from, is it from the greedy traders who are always looking for an opportunity to rip off their compatriots?, or the corrupt judges who are sell justice to the highest bidder,or the Politicians who embezzle our money or the greedy Priest and Pastors who are more interested in amassing wealth than saving souls?
