Exactly 💯

Undergraduates are not allowed dependents and they study for 3-4 years. They make up more than half of the overseas student population and pay tens of thousands of pounds over the duration of their course, so why is no one advocating for them to be able to bring in dependents if they wish to?I had some mature students (as they were called) on my degree course who had families, so it's not only postgrads that have families.

Students are still very welcome, all the govt is saying is that they do not have the resources to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of dependents that are now coming along.
I remember when I wanted to go to Ireland or so a few years ago, Griffith Uni actually at the time

Reviews on NL and research discouraged me as many people trooped there at the time. You'd have to queue up to view houses according to reports and Im sure it paid no one except the Landlords

Its a small country and they will do what will favor them at the end of the day.. or what they believe will smiley

Students and the gov can argue their side of the story and both sides will make salient points. Las las, we will all be Ok

They are just jokers!! UK universities would start shutting down once they don't make money from international students again, ordinary covid period, so many lecturers were sacked because they could not afford to pay their salary sad
...but they didn't say students shouldn't come in anymore, they said DEPENDENTS of those who are not on Phd /Research Programmes

.. And the Unis used to survive before introducing the psw visa, they'll always find a way to stay afloat smiley

We can't blame them for shutting things down when we are part of the ones ruining everything and making noise on SM

I think that would be a good idea, although it might take them a while to mobilise and implement it. In the short term they might introduce simple measures like the student being asked to show proof of funds at entry to the UK or a greater proportion of fees being paid upfront/ included in the proof
shocked grin

In addition, no more switching allowed and more scrutiny on maintenance funds:

The package will also remove the ability for international students to switch out of the student route and into work routes before their studies have been completed "to prevent misuse of the visa system", the government said.

As well as removing this right, there will also be a review of the maintenance requirement for students and dependents and a crackdown on "unscrupulous" education agents "who make use of inappropriate applications to sell immigration, not education".

Applications will be more closely examined as well, so best to avoid any breaches of the rules:

Improved and more targeted enforcement activity
They'll possibly introduce block funds like Germany smiley

It's the best time for them to implement it as most schools would have closed applications for September entry so OYO for most people with dependents

By new applicants, do you mean new dependants or new students?

If the regulation is passed, you are a student here and your family is not here already, just forget it.

If this is your position, just go do urgent priority o (the 2 days own).
I dont think the ones with visa already will have issues smiley

So I heard that there is a type of CoS that people now buy and it’s called “No Work”.

There is already an agreement btwn the seller and buyer that there is no work available, they can only provide CoS and people are buying it without thinking twice.

To think this care worker visa 6145 was just launched a year and 3 months ago.

If not for the rubbish that is going on, I see no reason why one month rent shouldn’t be enough. Even govt said the least you can bring is £1270 which isn’t a bad idea for a visa type that work is already on ground.

I sincerely hope the home office can do sth about this Fraud going on. It has eaten so deep mehn 🤦‍♂️
Was talking to someone on tik tok who has had one shift in about a month from the care home that issued her CoS, extremely broke and looking for additional jobs on the side

She does not know that she can work just 20 hrs outside the coy that issued her CoS, she also does not know that you can not just leave the employer without getting on another sponsorship CoS. Was trying to educate and encourage her to read up the visa type on gov.uk, she refused and kept arguing

People need to start reading before making the jump and suffering needlessly all the name of Japa. Proper planning with boxes ticked is neccessary in case things dont turn out the way you envisaged. If you ask them to use Nairaland, they will say they dont understand it. Same people who use SnapChat and twitter all day

As my good friend will say, if you no ready use your brain for UK, you go use your body

Choice remains yours smiley

Bro, squad shake-up and transitioning are never that simple... It takes time to remove and replace, especially with the current inflated state of the transfer market.

You can't just sell off without proper replacement as that will keep you in worse shape.... Besides, this is the man's first season.

I learned they are selling off a lot of those names you mentioned next season, some are leaving on free transfers too.

United will need not less than 3 major transfer windows to fully sort out this generational squad mess!
LOL we just keep making excuses for bums

Took less Than 2 yrs for Pep to fully clear out 2 teams and we still have Jones and Martial. cheesy

If Man United slips into Europa, it won't be entirely his fault...! There is so much even a great coach can do; if the players don't have sense where and when it matters, nothing even Pep can do!

...And United going to Europa is very much on the cards, except Liverpool is not serious! grin
And so he should sell them off
What is he still doing with Fred, Bissaka, Martial, Shaw and Maguire in this present age

Diff experiences on different occasions.

Abuja is more restrictive. They sight your hand luggage and tell you its too big or heavy or what not without showing you an official document where the weight is written. You will speak grammar tire.

Lagos gives you the dimensions for size only, weight is as long as you can carry it on your back or hand. So put your heavy things in carry on.

Most importantly, one 500 here and another 1000 there can blur the lines and make it easier.
Thanks Chief cheesy
