Marcos Senna for Ballon dor and Fifa Player of year abeggg.

Defensive midfielders are always overlooked. The guy had a great season and one hell of a tounament at the Euros. I think he deserves it just as much as Casillas. Ditto a player like De Rossi. Fantastic season too and a decent Euro tournament. Highlight was the France game where he turned Makelele and Toulalan to spectators in the midfield.

Seeing that Italy were the only ones that Spain couldn't beat in open play gladdens my hear that the defensive spirit which has been associated with Italy is back again. It took only the luck of penalties to stop the Azzuri and take Donadoni's job.

What with a great performance from d young Chiellini in central defence which he just started playing last season.

Anywayz, coming of a hectic season, i think Senna should be given the player of the tournament. Xavi didnt have the kind of season Senna had. Whoever follows the Spanish league here would agree with me. Senna was among my top 5 performers for the season just ended in the la liga.

For him to replicate dat form without showin any form of "Tiredness" unlike some Portuguese superstar players, me thinks he should be player of the tournament.

I used to think Aragones included him in the team in the past so as to prove to ppl he wasnt racist in the light of racist comments aimed at Henry, but i have been proven wrong. The talent was showcased for the world at large at the Euros.

Cant wait to see the Spain Italy game. Would like to see how Xavi would cope against the all Roma midfield of Perotta,Aquilani and De Rossi. Ambrosini must also play as he would add that extra power and height needed even though Spain would hardly play long balls. He might come in handy for setpieces.

How do u see the German defence coping against the portuguese. To be honest the germans have not impressed me defensively. Germany used to be next to Italy in terms of tight dfences b4 in the days of Sammer and the rest.Thot Metzelder was going to be the next best thing in central defence in Europe. Hasnt impressed me so far i must say tho i have really seen all their games from start to finish.

What is RENE ADLER DOING ON THE BENCH? Without a doubt he is the best german goalie presently.

R u the one comparin Toni to the Dutch master, Luca Toni doesnt come close. Luca just started blossomin when he arrived in Serie A with Palermo and he was what like 27 28 yrs old.

The dutch team had a mediocre campaign in 1990 but have u forgotten that Van Basten was highest goal scorer in EUro 88 and was very instrumental in their success there. Toni has proven himself in serie a and bundesliga but i give him 2 or 3 more yrs when age sets in he would dip.

The Dutch master did it all at Ajax and Milan instrumental to numerous serie a and UCL titles and was the top striker for the dutch too internationally. But for injury he could have become the best of all time. The only player that reminds me of Van B presently is Ibra cuz of their similar style and physique but even Ibra still has a whole lot to prove.

WHat a game??I must confess DUMMYNECK threw away the game the moment he put Abidal in the centre to pair Gallas. Toni was always going to be a threat but as he proved in the last world cup, scoring in tournaments like this is a herculean task for him. From the penalty Pirlo scored till about the 3oth minute he had 3 good chances to score.

Credit to him tho the way he brought down Pirlo's out of this world pass to get the penalty. Let's forget the lucky goal, DDR was man of the match as he outclassed Makelele and Toualan in the middle. Wasnt a better player than him in his position in Europe last season. Gattuso got tired quickly bross don dey age oo. Now Raymond will surely be sacked as i still do not understand why he would leave out Mexes,Trezegol and Escude from that team to take Gomis,Boumsong, Govou. One of the worst coaches i have seen at international level.

At least DOn red my mind very well by giving Aquilani playing time as he would most likely play for Pirlo in his absence in the last game. Ambro also shored up things in the middle. The French midfield was non existent yesterday.

I have noticed that Donadoni seems to let the press decide for him what to play. Like u said Di Natale did well in the first game but the clamour for Del Boy and Cassano to start by the press swayed him into lettin em start tho Cassano has justified his starting position, Del boy can get over his jittery form in the Italian jersey, the italian press say he should be wearing Juve colors playing for Italy.

Donadoni is sound tactically. He showed that while he was at Livorno. But Italy is another kettle of fish and he doesnt seem to follow his heart. Lets not forget he was also a pupil of one of the best coaches of all times Arrigo Sacchi who coached some of the best in the world presently (Van Basten,RIjkaard,Ancelotti,Tassoti,Gullit, e.t.c

Now the men will be separated from the boys as Italy will most likely play Spain.It will be mouth watering as i dont see their central defenders coping with Toni as they had problems coping with Ibra against Sweden. This is talk for another day tho.

Make the judgement yourself. A coach won 2 UCL within 10 years another won 2 in 22 years which one is better. A student solved a question in 2 hours another in 2 weeks Yes they both solved the question but their level of intelligence can't be the same. If you leave folahan,toba and Jackal (who without any doubt are the most moronic people alive) for 100years they would win the UCL with Arsenal (When other clubs Boycott)

Well said Kit, It would be a miracle if the dutch were to win it with that defence of theirs. Ooijer and Khalid look jittery most of the time only impressive guy has been Giovani van B. However, so far the dutch have employed the best attacking system. A blend of Fleet footed (RObben,Van P) and creative (Sneijder,Van der Vaart) midfielders. RVN upfront gives them an option aerially too unlike Spain (tho they have a Guiza on the bench). Nijel de Jong has been impressive too snappin on the heels of opposing midfielders.

Their counter attacking is sumtimes out of this world and can murder any team ask the Azzuri. Now who said they were goin to miss Seedorf??

Meanwhile my Azzuri "compatriots" have it all to do as i know they cant lose to France but even if they win and roMANIa win they r out, However i dont see Romania getting more than a draw against Holland. So they just have to win against France. Donadoni blew it tactically in the first game as the 4-3-3 left em loose against a brilliant attacking side. However luck was against them in the Romania game but they attacked brilliantly sumtimes especially with Grosso from the left.
