I think Gonzalo Higuain desrves to be mentioned in your list Also what about players like Almiron and Tiago to Juve Emerson to Milan and Henry has been a huge disappointment at Barca Ditto Podolski to Bayern |
skier:Have u tried the ogbuakun lake in PHC. It's close to where the militants reside in the creeks the area.Where they transport the barrels. It's fantastic for surfing.Watch out for the bullets dat be flyin tho. Pls try it. |
tkb417:Lol, Truthfully speaking, i would love to have that semifinal as it would be an European epic, One thing i can guarantee is that there would be goals. I would want to think that with Messi back, Barca would pose more of an attacking threat than United, For United for them to get the best out of Ronaldo, they shld play him on the right against Abidal as Zambrotta really steps up in those kinda games. But it would be hard for United seeing that if this fixture comes up it would be the first real test of their UCL might as they have not really faced a heavyweight in this yr's competition. It would be mentally tasking But wait a min oooo Roma and Schalke are not entirely out yet are they ?Totti and Rakitic will be back for the next game for both clubs and they could each get hattricks.lol Lets begin analysis next week. |
tkb417:But seriously speaking, i think i'd pick Lopez over Almunia and even over the error prone Valdes on current form. Sentiments aside.Lopez has been fantastic this season and i'm rooting for him to be picked for the Euro championship, But we know he will be battling for dat 3rd goalie spot with Canizares and Valdes and not Almunia, lol. |
Fellow Milanisti These are difficult times for the club and the officials have been trying to calm our nerves in the recent weeks by telling us about our prestigious history, Na history we go chop now ?Be that as it may, wholesale changes have to be made Bayern style dis summer, I still believe in 4th place but the fixture list is overwhelming given our form especially at home, The viola will be playing the relegation threatened teams mostly at home in the remaining 7 or 8 games left, We still have Napoli,Juve away and the derby della madoninna, it seems hopeless, The key areas we need to really strenghten are the defence and attack.dis summer, I feel our midfield is still okay but the attack really lacks movement, Seedorf needs competition hopefully Ronaldinho will arrive, Oddo needs too maybe in the form of Zambrotta, But we really must get Juan Vargas of Catania as left back, It is unlikely we land Ramos if we can get sumbody like Santacroce of Napoli or Gamberini of the Viola, Just sumbody young and promising. Pls we do not need Sheva back, We have told him thank u for the memories, But if he does come, he will bang in goals given his understanding of the league, But i would prefer a Mario Gomez or the Klassy Huntelaar to partner Pato while we get Boriello back and give Genoa Gilardino, Pippo still for the big European nights. I still believe in Carletto as the coach but he needs quality personnel to move our ship forward. Should Maldini quit or play on for another yr ?I am undecided on this too, |
tkb417:Oga was this a posting error Almunia no 1 goalie in spain ??Have u heard about Casillas ?Even Diego Lopez of Villareal is miles ahead of ALmuniia, Canizares sef, God knows i would still take Ejide over Almunia sef, Defensively i think Abidal edges Evra, Cant really judge Evra's attacking prowess until i see him do it against stiff competition. However, it must be said that Evra has benefited from regular playing time at United and has improved a great deal, P.S, A lot has been said about Abidal being skinned by Odonkor, Who wouldn't with dat pace of a cheetah, Evra ? |
@Pein I thot u were hinging ur argument on the fact that Messi having not scored higher than ROnaldo did not deserve it. Figo,Ronaldinho,Kaka have never been highest goal scorers when they won it. Even Zidane So being high up the goal scoring charts is not a necessity but ur overall contribution to ur team's success. |
Ibime:Ibime y u dey yan like dis 4 teams challenge in Prem yearly and the rest 2 teams abi, Could u quickly do a check on the top 4 teams in other leagues with the point differences for the past 3-4 seasons and get back to me??If it's based on the top 4 teams against top 4 in other leagues.maybe EPl is the best right now. But when it comes to including the remaining 16 teams sumtimes in England it's like these remaining teams play anoda tournament on their own and allow the top 4 to decide how they position themselves at the top of the league. Mourinho is prolly one of the best coaches mentally in a way of getting the best out of his players. But tactically, he's nowhere near the best tactically. Rafa Benitez for one in the EPL beats him hands down on that. I'm of the opinion that tactics really come to the fore in cup competitions and not every week league matches. This is without mentioning coaches like Don Fabio,Lippi,Carletto e.t.c As per tonight's game, e go hard for Chelsea, the atmosphere in dat stadium could overwhelm Chelsea. plus Kezman will be all fired up, And Grant had better put Essien on Alex or else, ANywayz i'm praying for a Barca Chelsea final, |
pein:I dont understand what u r sayin here>.When did goals become a criteria to judge world footballer??How many goals did Canna score when he won it. And what polls r u referring to??The ones being voted for by u and me or the one dat the qualified coaches will vote for for the award proper.Taking nothin away from C.Ronaldo,he has had a fantastic season and given, poor form of ROnaldinho and Kaka and Messi's injury blighted season, he's looking good to win it especially if he can cap it up with a wonderful performance in Euro 2008 |
crazylegs:LOL, RInghio ke ? But given his erratic form this season it would not be very hard to let him go, But we know he will bounce backk, LOL, Another thing is Gattuso will never leave Milan to Barca, If he leaves he will be off to scotland again. We can give u Ambrosini tho, However, i concur that u need that type of fighter to bustlee ppl off the ball in ur midfield, Yaya has done a good job but he is more of a ball retainer than a ball winner in my eyes, His lack of concentration on Juanito's gol over the weekend is also forgivable sha, But given the kind of midfield Barca currently have it will always be tempting to load the field with offensive minded midfielders all the time. When u have the likes of Deco,Xavi or Iniesta dropping to the bench there could be dressing room issues, Barca players do not fight for the ball aggresively in midfield, But Rijkaard has been disappointing too sumtimes with his tactics. Is he missing Tenk Cate?, What was Henry doing for 90 mins against Betis?? Y'all need Messi back and quick, |
I doubt Holland will make any impact. Neither will Portugal, Italy and France remain the strongest cuz of the quality of experienced players in their ranks. I agree with you a 100% that EPL orientation will get u nowhere especially in world class tournaments like this. National teams that have done well recently have not had many EPL players in their teams. It's amazing to see Torres who was averaging 15 goals in a season for Athletico banging hat tricks for fun against the Derby counties of this world. This is not to say he doesnt have quality. But he will never get it that easy against competitive teams. Against Italy the other day, he didn't have much of an impact whereas his colleague David Villa scored a stunning goal. Do not count out the defending champions Greece to as they have retained the coach, most of the players and the same mentality of playing games. They are supercharged against the big teams. My only fear for Italy is if Toni gets injured as they do not have a replcement for him in dat dept.Gila is off form, Ditto Lucarelli,Vieri,Inzaghi, so it might lead to a whole change of tactics for Donadoni whose system of playing Toni with DiNatale and Camo on the left and right has paid dividends. Spain have always been underachievers, i dont see much changing cuz their problem has always been their backline. But sumtimes i feel Aragones does not get his team right, Maybe it's cuz of the depth they have. Nowadays he plays one striker which i feel is wrong. He should be fielding Raul and Torres, with the ff 4 midfielders behind them Xavi,Iniesta,Senna and Alonso or Fabregas.Raul shld be playing as he has been terrific dis season, I dont think the German team has enuff experience in their ranks even tho they have been together for sum time. They will need Ballack in top form. Pair Gomez and Klose in attack, midfield is Joachim's major worry, the depth in that dept doesnt seem to be enuff for me as without Ballack they could be very ordinary and they had better pick Hildebrand as goalie or else they would leakkkk If C Ronaldo has a good showing i think he would get the player of d yr. |
Mc Omo:We are trying to add life and variety to the thread, LOL There is nothing to lament about seeing that our trophy cabinet is filled to the brim and we have decided to construct a new one as the present one cannot accommodate this yr's UCL and serie a title, What was the last title u guys won again ?Pls remind me, Okay the highly competitive and prestigious Emirates Trophy, LOLBTW, BARCA OR ROMA FOR UCL TITLE, I'd hate to see the trophy go to England. WOrst case Chelsea for d title cuz of their italian history, |
Cant see any team that can stop the Azzuri. The only person that can stop them is their coach. Credit to him for what he has done so far bit i still have some doubtss, |
dayokanu:@ Dayokanu I'm kinda feeling now that the problem with Milan is a curse or spell this season. We have the best away record in the league but the poorest home record. It is just unbelievable that in 2005-2006 season we won 18 out of 19 games at home. The san siro used to be like a slaughter house of some sort. But this season it has been really strange. What i have personally analyzed is that. teams come to the San siro and try to pack their ppl behind the ball for like the first 20 mins and then try and break to score. Once they score it becomes difficult for us not just cuz they pack ppl behind the ball and limit our spaces, but cuz our movement in midfield to attack this season has been woeful. It is too slow and the lack of mobility from the full backs and midfield is so evident. They cant even create the spaces When we had Kaka ROnaldo and Pato play a few games together this was not the problem. The mobility just isnt there now with Ronnie out and Kaka out for a cpl of games.Add that to the fact that Pirlo has been woeful this season in a Milan shirt.Ditto Gila and Gattuso has not been himself for a while either. I do not subscribe to the age argument. Maldini is 40 and has been our best player in recent weeks. maybe its tiredness but then Liverpool and Barca both played the club world cup too a cpl of seasons ago and still had respective positons in their standings. The club's belief in an injury prone stiker like Ronaldo did not make em buy any quality forward in January. And it is still hurting us. We are 6th in the league .4 points away from 4th,same no of points with Samp in 7th.Have another home game coming up against Cagliari next weekend. Still have Juve away and Inter in the coming weeks. It will take a MIRACLE to secure 4th position. This is the only reason why i feel we may not secure Ronaldinho next season. He will need UCL football. But u never know, we got the last Star Brazilian who left Barca, Rivaldo, though he didnt really deliver, |
Barca losing to Betis after a 2 goal lead shows you just how strong the Spanish League is. On the other hand, i think Rijkaard has run out of ideas. He couldnt muster any useful tactical change at 2-2. Why leave Henry on the pitch and take out Bojan?? Shocking decision if u ask me. It gets interesting as the weeks roll by.When is Messi coming back ![]() Pls give us Ronaldinho as it seems u guys dont motivate him anymore. In the midst of Pato and Kaka i bet he will re-discover himself in no time. As for Iniesta, What a player, Did i hear sumone say Fabregas is better, Nope guess my ears were playing tricks on me |
The English press may ruin Hamilton's promising career. Where is Andy Murray today Sumone tell me.As a naturalized azzuri, FORZA FERRARI ALWAYSSSSSSS No Matter the driver, |
Gianluca Curci Roma 2nd choice keeper (Fantastic talent Bacary Sagna (Has impressed me defensively Giorgos Chiellini Juventus ( I am amazed dat stupid Secco almost let him go to Man city for peanuts Sergio Ramos( Fantastic Player. His versatility reminds me of Maldini's Philippe Lahm ( How many better Left backs than him at the moment?? Alberto Aquilani ( Without a doubt the next Andrea Pirlo Andreas Iniesta ( Solid all round player. C. Ronaldo (Tricky customer) Lionel Messi ( Injuries could cost him best player award) Benzema(Too Much Pato (Need i say more. Notable Mentions: Craig Gordon (SUnderland Keeper) Fabiano Santacroce 23 (Napoli Central Defender Sumbody shld go and watch his games against Roma,Inter and Juve.) Gael Clichy Cesc Fabregas "Super" Mario Balotelli Bojan Aguero |
iice:Guess he was just a one season wonder. Hope the Doctor can take it this season though. |
mykali:Nah, I dont think Sheva is overrated. He just hasnt adapted to the English league cuz of the tempo, non tactical style, high no of yrs he spent in the serie A. I will give u good instances. Veron,Crespo and Mutu were very good players who had spent most of their top flight experience in Europe in Italy. They all flopped in EPL. When they got back to Italy they rediscovered their form. I guarantee u that if Sheva leaves for Italy today. he will get 20 goals in Italy. Mark my words. We are talking bout a Ballon'dor winner here. |
The main problem for Rossi is the yamaha bike. It just cant match the ducati. No bloody way. I hope The Doctor can do something special this season tho "FOR SURE". What has happened to Nicky Hayden all of a sudden. He looked like the next best thing 2 seasons ago. Dani Pedrosa too is so inconsistent. Ditto Marco Melandri and Tony Elias. This might make it a 2 horse race again this season. |
Ibime, I do not understand what u trying to say here.If anything Totti has been one of the most under rated players in football history and the reason just as i tell ppl is cuz Roma have not done well in Europe over the last decade. U expected him to be the highest goal scorer when he was playing behind Delvecchio and Montella?? Just last season in his trequartista role he got the golden boot. This season if not for injuries he would have been high up in the scorer's charts. Like 4 Play said Totti is the soul of the Roma side and dictates the play. Did u see his assist over the weekend for Max Tonetto to score? Top Class. I agree that he is cursed in international competitions. His world cup in 2002 was decent tho until the red card against Korea. Euro 2004 was disastrous coupled with another needless sending off. WC 2006 was pathetic but that was obviously cuz he had just returned from that career threatening injury. His Euro 2000 was okay to me.The highlight being being his confident penalty against Holland. Also Deco is not over rated. He's another decent world class midfielder who has achieved a lot. I think it would be better to rate him on the assists he's given and how he's dictated the midfield most especially for Porto,Portugal and his early Barca days. We all know he plays something similar to the Pirlo role nowadays. |
Arsenal's passing game is a delight to watch especially in a league where it was almost becoming a requirement to be able to play the boring long ball game to qualify as an EPL team. But then it is just recently that have started re-adjusting by whipping in crosses for Bayo to nod home. Previous seasons they would want to walk the ball into the net which i considered very arrogant especially when they were playing the lower teams. If you watch teams like Roma and Barca which play a very similar style u would notice that they incorporate long passes, short passes, long range shots.e.tc. the total package into their games. But credit to Wenger for creating an entertaining brand of football into the EPL. |
ritchboy:Are these teams based on league positions or on achievements over the last cpl of yrs.I think it's kinda hard to pinpoint 9 best teams just like that in a competitive league. I still maintain that the top 4 are the only competitive teams in the EPL. How many teams are tryna take advantage of their exertions and efforts directed towards the UCL There are teams in the EPL who play in just 1 competition and still find it hard to press for a place in the top 6.Can u say the same bout the other leagues? We all know the top 4 will change dis yr in Spain, will be different in Italy too. Also apart from the top 4 in ur top 9, Lets use a 10 yr timeframe, how many of these ur teams in the lower 5 of ur top 9 have won the league or have qualified for the UCL, I can name u quite a handful in other leagues within that timeframe, Cuz in the la liga 4-5 different teams have won it while in the serie a Lazio,Roma,Juve,Inter,Milan have won, Can u name more than 3 names in the EPL within this period??A cpl more different names in the bundesliga. (i would let dayo kanu assist on that (lol))And u tell me the league has been the most competitive. But then, with the money the Shinawatras and the rest of em corrupt guys are pumping into the league, i got a feeling things will change as there's money to go after decent coaches now which is one thing the EPL has lacked for a long time, |
Chacal:Jackal, Just how ignorant can u be Who doesnt know about Blackburn, Leeds, Everton e.t.c being in the UCL in the past 15 seasons??But if u were in ur right senses (which i doubt u ever are) u would have remembered that u started talking bout a time frame of 3-4 yrs which i gave u details on. Now u r talking bout 15 seasons, U want me to start saying that Fiorentina,Sampdoria,Chievo,Napoli e.t.c have graced that stage too, I rate coaches based on their tactical know how not how they pump their players to run after long balls.Tactically Rafa is the best in the EPL. Y dont u present ur facts on Silvio's match fixing in the UCL to UEFA. Crying bout it here wont get u no attention.LOSER The level of sawdust in ur brain keeps increasing by the second and the fact that u display ur arrogant stupidity without shame amazes me, UP VIOLA UP PSV WAITING TO UP LISBON. Then i will wait for arguments that there are more competitive teams in the EPL apart from the top 4. |
y do u have to make these dumb comments all the time. Be realistic for once in ur life Quality managers?, i only see one presently in Rafa Benitez.Quality players for the last 3-4 yrs, Do they have awards to back up their quality?? Ballond'or, FiFA player of d yr, o okay at least they have a recent CAF player of d yr. The organization of the league.U got me there it is not in doubt.I bet the EPL has clouded ur mind so much u do not know enuff European football to know that Lazio,Udinese graced the UCL in that time frame, U also dont seem to be aware that Deportivo,Real Sociedad,Sevilla have done same in the La Liga. And that Bayern did not make the UCL dis yr for all their dominance. When will this happen in the EPL? Quartets that are dominant exists only in the EPL, La liga and Seria only have at most 3 consistent sides Did Milan also buy its way to 3 finals in 5 yrs in the UCL? |
For one to say the EPL is the best cuz of 4 teams in the q-finals makes it sound like the EPL is made up of just those 4 teams. Do not get me wrong, these 4 have improved in terms of quality, but then apart from these 4 teams in a 20 team league, what other teams are worthy of mention when we discuss this league. This is the main reason why a Ballon'dor winner and FIFA player of the year has not come from these league in the past how many yrs(Pls do the counting). However when u see other leagues and their top four teams constantly changing every yr,then u start to believe that the EPL is not really competitive. It is a known fact that we already know the top 4 teams in the EPL now b4 the league ends. But can we say that bout the La Liga,Serie A or Bundesliga?? But then i agree with Dayokanu, thanks to the Shinawatras, the Randy Lerner's, The Gillette's e.t.c, the league is improving. Lets judge leagues on the overall standard of play team by team. Hoping the Viola whip the Toffees tonite. Go Montolivo, Go Kuzmanovic, Go Donadel, Go Osvaldo Run ur hearts out in the UEFA CUP so u stutter in the league and let Milan take 4th place. FORZA MILAN |
If they are still supporting their teams it's cuz they are true fans of these teams not the bunch of hypocrites we have everywhere in this country. When Blackburn was dominating the Premiership i used to have some of their fans around me now they have moved on to Chelsea or ASS-ANAL. It's a known fact that most of the Chelsea fans today joined post Abramovich era |
No doubt the English teams now perform better in Europe. But then this all comes to the money factor and the fact that they have been able to attract quality players from foreign lands not the crappy English players they used to rely on in the past. Check the lineups of these teams and count the no of English players who make things happen in this club and get back to me. Same cannot be said of other European teams who believe so much in home grown talent. But then to say the English teams are the best cuz 3 of them are already in the Q-finals doesnt make sense. Or is it cuz ASS-ANAL dumped Milan out of the UCL Most of their fans i know still celebrate it like a miracle. Teams like Catania,Empoli have done this in the past, I'd say lets see an all English final first even though the other leagues have achieved this long ago, FORZA MILAN 7 Time European Champions 5 times European Super cup winners 4 times Club World Cup winners Countless Domestic trophies…. True MILANISTA since 1989 , |
Hats off to the gunners for a historic win yesterday. |
If Messi stays fit he should nick it ahead of the rest going by the way he's started and performed dis season. And i'm not just talking bout last night. |
Mc Omo:hahahaa @ Kit Watta gwan So u r Mc Omo now Y is everybody changin their id's in here Abi una don commit??Thanks for the credit to our backline although i must confess my heart nearly fall comot when Adebayor hit the crossbar and ppl have been quick to criticize him.Is it easy??The guy was scared. The game at San Siro will be highly entertaining and i'm sure there will be goals there.I think it's gonna end 4-2 in Milan's favour tho. If Arsenal attempt to play end to end with Milan they will suffer. If they keep it tactical and sit back and try to hit us on the break, we might suffer, But Arsenal will pour forward.Hopefully they will leave spaces for Ka-Pato to wreck havoc, |
The game at the San siro will be highly entertaining as both teams will go for it.Arsenal should not dare play end to end with Milan as they will leave with a bucketload of goals. If they keep it tactical and try to hit us we might have problems. It was evident yesterday that most of our key players were either still struggling for fitness or were tired. Dats the worst Pirlo display this season that i have seen ALTHOUGH HE WAS CLOSELY MAN MARKED AND NOT GIVEN TIME ON THE BALL, Even Seedorf was lethargic.Kaka showed some sparks and Pato made em scared as they always backed off him even though he wasnt a 100%. I hear Nesta and Pa\to's injuries are minor. I hope Pirlo gets a rest but against palermo dis wknd is a tough one we need to win. Maldini was out of dis world.Kaladze did well too and Oddo. All things being equal and with Milan being Milan, we should be in the quarter final come end of dat game in March. MILANISTA TILL I'M 6 FEET, |
?
Let them enjoy their moment of glory. There'll still be three English teams in the UCL semis, one in the final, but BARCA WILL TAKE THE CUP!!! VIZCA BARCAAA!!!
