Did you ask if you would be charged ATM fees when you withdraw from a different bank's ATM?
ATB has very few ATMs/Branches. I would be suprised if they have up to 50 ATM terminals all over calgary. Good news is that cash as a means of transaction is no longer common, so it might still be a good or the better deal.

Fair Point u made Salford. I did ask. But i generally think for any bank, you get charged whenever you use any another bank’s ATM in Canada. I stand to be corrected tho. Theirs is 3 dollars but i get reimbursed for up to 3 transactions a month for the account type i picked. Plus dem nak me free 30 dollars for signing up. . Not sure about their branch network but there are two branches around me. One is a 5 min walk. Other is like a 6-7 min drive. And like i said generally, its all about what works for you individually when picking a bank account not by name. I personally intend to register a business name and might need a Line of Credit for support soon. ATB offered me at 7% with far flexible terms. CIBC offered at 13%. And BMO were speaking one grammar i didnt understand. So its all about what works for people personally when choosing bank accounts. So i urge everyone to do their research and look at all the banks and their products critically to see what fits their personal needs. My view

You should go into more details on the immigration centers, the bank account, and how you secured shelter. These are essential things for newcomers. Be more specific on these things please.

Aunty Maternal biko no vex. The Immigration centres that i have been to are Immigrant Services Calgary downtown. I believe you can register with them online prior to landing. Ive also been to CCIS and they have been of help too with regards to filing of tax/benefits etc for newcomers. The Bank was the Govt owned Bank of Alberta called ATB Financial. They really have cool products specifically for newcomers too like all the other banks but i found their own products better suited to my individual needs as an “upcoming albertan”. For the apartment i checked on Rentfaster and had my cousin help me call on my behalf.

Arrived Calgary, Alberta early last month. Just wanted to share my quick settlement story. Weather has been relatively great. Got registered with Immigration centres and have received tremendous help there. Got a 2 bedroom apartment in the NW area for 1,300 which is ok. A friend helped me with securing that and I did not have to make payment for 3 or 6 months in advance. Just a refundable security deposit and first month rent. Like most have mentioned previously here, you will need a vehicle especially in the NW as small grocery shops and stationery stores are not easily accessible by foot. I got tremendous help with my Banking needs from a Nigerian working in a Bank. Free Banking for one year, 2,500 MasterCard limit with option of a Line of Credit etc. He says after the one year I can still transition to another free banking account without minimum balance if I want. He even helped to refer me to employers in the Finance Industry and one of them has even called me for interviews already and I only met the guy on an online forum oh. Also, like many have mentioned here previously you have to target your resumes to job postings. What else am I missing in my story? Anyways it has been a great number of days being here with no regrets (except that there is no suya here lol) . Let me know if you have any enquires I may be of help. Thanks to everyone who has previously dropped useful information here.

The 4-4-2 brought us stability but i must say the game against Sassuolo was humiliating. I put off my tv at the 75th min and drove to watch Ikorodu Fc vs MFM FC at Onikan after we had not registered any shot on target in the second half. Now talk in Italy is about Silvio wanting to push Broochi as Manager. I just don't know why he is fond of doing these things. Sigh.... I dont know about you guys...... But i just want the Glory Days back. Forza Milan.

The Manchester United Game aside sef Neuer Has been the best goal keeper in Europe this season. The world cup experience gave him super confidence IMO. Only the Blind and EPL myopic wouldnt know this as their first encounter with him was in the Manchester United Game.

We are almost there, Almost there. @Chic2pimp u talk about Thiago Silva being the best defender in Serie A , i say he has been the best central defender in the whole of Europe this season. Save for Vidic at United i dont see any other centreback that comes close.

We are almost there. Almost There

LEonardo keeps doing more harm to his cv than good. Wat a shambolic defensive display. The defensive discipline instilled under Mou last year is out of the window. Inter now defend with about just 5 players behind d ball without possesion.

What a shame. Shame on Inter. SHame on Leonardo. 8 goals conceded in 2 games says a lot. Hope Moratti got what he wanted. This Schalke team will be picked apart by either Chelsea or United easily,

Don't rule Inter out just yet sha.

@ Ajanle i have read a lot of BS from English papers . Lets not even go there. We know the English press is biased when it comes to reporting.

Just recently in the wake of our loss to Spurs in the UCL several myopic english pressmen were bold enough to write gibberish about Joe Jordan and eulogosing him and Spurs to the heavens . Some were even daft ennough to write that he has a better career than Rino Gattuso. Are you kidding me Scudetto Winner, UCL winner, World Cup Winner? Their argument was because Joe scored in 3 consecutive world cups or so. Gibberish about Gattuso should have been banned for life, Serie with Alexis Sanchez, Pato, Abate and a no of other speedy players is constantly ridiculed and and labelled as "pedestrian", i can go on and on about their ignorance. i got a full dossier of it,
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Mourinho: Genius Or Fluke by hustler(m): 5:53pm On Mar 25, 2011
@Ajanle, just to correct sometin on your post, Capello cannot be credited to have originated Zonal Marking just cuz he wrote a research article on it at the Coverciano. The concept of Zonal Marking stretches as far back as the origin of Catennacio itself. From the Karl Rappan Door Bolt system to the likes of Nereo Rocco (UCL Winner Milan 63/69) and Helenio Herrera who is widely known as the person who made it most popular cuz of the fuild conter-attacking system employed (Inter UCL 65/64 Winner)

Zona Mista (mixed zone) marking system  came about as a spin off of the original Catennacio systems employed by old serie a coaches. The positioning of players may have been didfferent in the way it started and formations employed. But the concept of marking zones is pretty much the same as what is being practised today.  Although it was combined with man-marking against strong players.Enzo Bearzot, Italian coach at the successful 1982 world cup employed this system very well. Claudio Gentile man-marking Maradona out of the group game is well documented in football. Man-marking and zonal marking are still mixed by a number of teams especially those that play the 3-5-2/5-3-2 systems.

AjanleKoko:

^^
That's a much better challenge grin

However, forget Marca and AS. They are useless publications, just like the Catalan Sport and El Mundo Deportivo. Spanish media is useless when it comes to objective reporting.

Starting from Cryuff, as a player, he was part of a Dutch team and an Ajax team that dominated Europe, winning a hat trick of European cups.
As a manager, he, alongside Carly Rexach, instituted the Total Football concept, same ideas he was taught by Rinus Michaels as a player, in Barcelona. He won the inaugural CL, and 4 La Liga titles in a row. You can't talk about total football in Holland and Spain without mentioning Cryuff. In fact, that those two nations played the world cup final in 2010 is a testament to Cryuff's legacy and his contribution to modern football. His imprint is firmly stamped on the game in both countries.

Capello, of course we all know. His exploits in Italy as a footballer and coach, and in Spain as a two-time Real Madrid coach, are remarkable. He rebuilt the hopeless team managed by Valdano into an excellent side, both defensively and going forward. Jupp Heynckes and even Del Bosque inherited his team, even though the club went on to sign a rash of top stars. He's a league title winner across 4 cities: Milan, Madrid, Turin, and Rome. Capello is credited to have originated the idea of 'zonal marking', stemming from an article he wrote in 1984 as a student at Coverciano.

Ariggo Sacchi? That's the man who made AC Milan into a European powerhouse, and Capello's forerunner. The Dutch Terrific Trio played under him (Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard), as well as a certain Carlo Ancelotti, not to mention Roberto Donadoni, a former Azzuri Manager.
I've read a lot about Sacchi's defensive experiment, where, in a training session, he set up Milan's attack-minded players against 5 defenders, and they tried unsuccessfully to score a goal.

Sir Alex, of course you all know. Hiddink, you also know. I don't want the spambot to get me, so I will stop the narrative here.
But hopefully you get my point. Apart from Mou's controversial statements, and of course his many league titles, Well, put that up against some of the CVs of the other guys, and you might just get my point. He is nowhere near those guys. They are institutions.

Is the English press any better at unbiased reporting??

I wonder why Bayern didn't try to get Marcelo Lippi or even Van Basten. Some one fresh to the Bayern bench. I dont think Juup will last more than 2 seasons tho. His CV is okay but there is just sometin not righ about it for me when coaches come for another stint. It usually doesnt end well.

Ok so at this crucial stage of the season is where our players have decided to start letting their nerves creep in?? This is ridiculous that Allegri cannot psyche up his players. The inability to see off a useless Bari side at the San Siro that could have given a breather of going 7 points clear is beginning to haunt us already.

The 3 flat and defensive midfield trio is definitley not working. A lil bit of creativity is needed now and i suggest Emmanuelson gets the nod to start the derby to give us more thrust on the left. However, my fear is leaving Antonini at the back alone against a rampaging Maicon is a mismatch. Thus Allegri may decide to play d more defensive minded Flamini/KPB there to pin Maicon back.

Lucky thing for us is that Lucio will miss the game and Rannochia just picked up a knock preparing for the qualifiers. So Inter may field a CB partnershipo of Cordoba/Materazzi and i'd relish our chances especially if Pato gets fit in time. Cassano must get his "A" game back and Robinho must start putting away this chances. MVB has been okay in front of the defence but 2 costly defensive erros in 2 consecutive games are begii=nning to make me doubt him ooo. We must not thow away this scudetto oo. Not at this crucial stage of the season.

We need to take advantage of Inter's divided attention to the UCL as well. Allegri should look for a way to nullify Maicon's runs as he will be looking to provide Pazzo with the crosses. I think Abate should be able to cope with Eto'o

FORZA MILAN

Dat Inter that Spurs destroyed is gone. They have most of their injured players back now and their confidence too. And Samuel Eto'o is playing like he is from another planet right now. Inter are surely the favorites to go through to the semis

LVG good coach but just too stubborn and doesnt listen. If i were Uli and KHR, i would have fired him too regardless of him being 90 mins away from a treble last year.

Some of his decisions are shocking at times. Kraft over Neuer Alaba over Khedira?? Come on. This is not Ajax naaaa of the Nineties.\
Anyways i have benefited from one of his shocking decisions so far. MVB has been solid for Milan so far; bar his red card against Catania and his shocking marking on the freekick on Sunday against Bari.
