Family / Re: What Do/Would You Call Your Spouse? by IAH(f): 7:11pm On May 14, 2006
For me, my first name is just fine! Or he can call me any of my other names. Interestingly enough, my English name is what lovers call themselves. But honestly, there is nothing as sweet as hearing my first name from the mouth of someone I love. kiss kiss
What would I call him? His name(s)! Except if he suggests something else.
Family / Re: Should Every Property Owned By A Couple Be In The Husband's Name? by IAH(f): 6:43pm On May 14, 2006
Uncle Ono is going to make me argue today, very unusual. embarassed
I asked a simple question. What's absurd about putting "Mr & Mrs Ono" on the owner's box? You say you are married. Fine! Since you consider it absurd to have the husband and wifey's name on the owner's box, I can safely assume that you have not included your wife's name on your own properties. If that is the case, I'm afraid and I'm sorry I have to say I don't envy her and I don't wish to have a husband like hers. No offence please, I'm just drawing conclusions from what you said.

ono:

@IAH,
You know, I like people who aim high. My wife's just like that. But,  like your friend Chinani stated above from her Russian proverb, [/size] You'd agree with me that things, often times, don't go the way you want it to go. You can put in so much efforts and pressure and all that, but still have all your hope and desires dashed and replaced with something you hardly wished for. And when it comes to marriage, my dear, I'll advise that much as you aim high in that regard, it's better you come down low at times so that you can get to the top. Maybe I need to understand your aiming high properly with regards to marriage. Correct me.

Thanks for your advice. but I'm almost there. Thanks again. smiley Actually, if you were bothering on my first post, what I really mean is that I don't want to be in a dependent/desperate state whereby I am doomed if my husband decides not to add my name to his properties. If I have my own things, then I won't suffer if anything bad happens and his family members go haywire. Do you get me?
For the "must do before marriage" part, check----> We all have our personal goals, don't we?

ono:

I will rather have the views of married people, especially those with solid christian background, or people (men and women) with good christian background on this matter. I longed to read something from GL and Flower on this.

Are you saying that all the people who have replied do not have good Christian background? Hmmm I reserve my comments.

Lastly, I should say something about your "Kiddies at best" comment. Psalms 8:2 says "From the lips of infants and children, you(God) have established strength, " cheesy
Education / Re: Why Study That Course? by IAH(f): 4:48pm On May 13, 2006
Zahymaka, ironically I prefer C to C++ because I've not totally understood the "Classes" in C++. Still learning though grin and back to topic, hmmmmm my Dad also wanted me to be a Doctor so I studied Medicine for a year before jetting out to land this new course - Chemical Engineering which I've found out I'm not really interested in anyway.

The thing is I don't seem to have any course I'm like sooo interested in sad (except some really stupid ones which I won't tell for fear of being mocked). When I was in secondary school, I wanted to become an Aeronautical Engineer. Then my Dad said "That doesn't make sense! Get real" So emm, since I didn't have any other tangible/sensible one, he was able to push to me to go study Medicine. Anyway, I'm now studying Chemical Engr (as I said before cheesy) which was a random choice, no inspiration behind it(too bad). I thought I could work in an oil company or something but now Nahhhhh I don't want to work in any company! smiley

So long cool

Nairaland / General / Re: The Most Interesting Dream(s) You Have Ever Had by IAH(f): 4:29pm On May 13, 2006
I just had this dream last night and I think it’s quite funny. I dreamt that I was coding a program and when I finished I decided to compile it. Then the .exe came out flashing OLODO OLODO OLODO on my screen in bold letters. Hahahaha! Olodo means Dummy. But I’m wondering what this dream means.

My Mum didn't do all those sex talks with me at first because she trusted me unlike my elder sister who is generally thought/known to be wayward.grin But when she saw a picture I took sitting on a boy's laps shocked (I was 15+) she quickly called me and told me she had made a mistake by not talking to me before. Then the talks began. Hahahahahaha!
Family / Re: Should Every Property Owned By A Couple Be In The Husband's Name? by IAH(f): 4:09pm On May 13, 2006
Such a thing can not even happen to me in the first place because I want have my own business before I get married and I aint getting married without that.(Yes! That’s a condition) That means my name will be on my thing already and you can’t tell me he will change it to his name when we get married except if he has a business to and we do a merger and of course, I won’t open my eyes and let him use only his name on the whatever merging papers. shocked

To our Uncle, Please what's absurd about writing "Mr & Mrs Ono" or "Adam & Eve Ono" on the owner's box?
Art, Graphics & Video / Re: A Cd Case Design I Made For A Musician Using Corel Draw & Photopaint by IAH(f): 12:13pm On May 13, 2006
I think it's ok except for the way you wrote the "Rebirth" on the front and the back. It's too cartoonish?amateurish? I really don't know. Can't you make it seamless? I don't like all those black (and white) lines outlining the edges.

Romance / Re: How Can U Tell If It Will Work Out? by IAH(f): 6:31pm On May 12, 2006
Like curiousNja said, it's hard to tell. But you can make your safest bet that it will work out if you see that are really really compatible. As in you have the same interests, think alike and agree on most things(definitely not all things) so you don't have to disagree much. The probability that this kind of relationship will work out is higher than when the two of you are parallel lines! shocked  Again, I have to say it's hard to tell!

Webmasters / Re: How To Advertize Using Pop-ups by IAH(f): 12:25pm On May 12, 2006
I hate pop-ups too! angry I think text ads is the best because they are unobtrusive. I am especially annoyed when I see reputable companies subscribing to this pop-up thingy. For example, why would AOL be using pop-ups to advertise? angry

Computers / How Do I Remove My Details From The Whois Database? by IAH(f): 11:22am On May 12, 2006
Hi, I know the answer might be obvious but I don't know it that's why I'm asking.
I want to remove my details like address and phone number from the WHOIS database. I know it's possible because I've looked up the WHOIS for some sites and their addresses were hidden. So how can I erase mine too?
