Business › Re: Alomo Bitters Maker loses About Us$2m To Closure Of Nigeria-benin Border by IamR: 2:58pm On Oct 22, 2019 |
Mirrorlenz: Ghana’s largest local beverage manufacturer, Kasapreko, has so far lost about US$2 million in revenue to the closure of the Nigerian-Benin Border, the Head of International Business Development for the company has said.
According to Francis Holly Adzah, even though the beverage firm “managed to send in three trucks of products to the Nigerian market moments before the border was closed,” four other trucks loaded with products – one at the border and the others at the premises of the manufacturing company – have been left grounded.
“In September, we lost US$1 million to the closure. October is almost ended and our checks show a loss of another million dollars. The situation is getting out of hand and very serious,” Mr Holly Adzah told reporters in an exclusive interview.
Checks have revealed the beverage firm has exhausted all its products in the Nigerian market – a critical situation which has seen them being overtaken by competitors.
Meanwhile, Kasapreko says it is venturing into other ready markets apart from Nigeria to make up for the losses.
According to Mr Holly Adzah, the company is looking at entering Ivory Coast, Senegal, Togo, Benin and other European markets.
Ghana’s exports to Nigeria was $80.96 million in 2018, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade.

I want him to know that with 10m some people will live their best life with it
He was even saying 10m 28k usd has more buying power in the US than Nigeria.
Anyways to some very rich folks 10m is a little money but he need to stop condemning it abeg. Most of the land/properties in Lagos and Abuja are over-hyped. I don't know about USA, but 10m is not a little money in Nigeria. It is a lot of money in Yenagoa of today. |

now vat increased, toll gates to resurface, cbn deposit and withdrawal charges, in adition to no light, no road, no health facility......kia na wa....oooh
we should be on the guiness book of records .....
pls where will your 10m start from. Sigh! Can you imagine all these in one country. The problems in the whole world combined are not up to what we are facing in Nigeria. I need to tell my spouse about relocation plan. It is not about smiling at the treasury bill and Eurobond certificates of investment. We can't even live a decent life just because of useless people in the neighbourhood and kidnappers. |

Your friend got the correct upfront interest. 1.8m for 6 months at 10% should be 90k. Your friend got 10% and some fractions, if you factor in the charges. |

AngelicBeing: You have a good profile, why wait till 2021, you might have all the travel history to Rwanda, Ethiopia, Israel and Dubai and still be denied, that is why I recommended a trip to the Schengen zones instead of all those African countries, a Schengen trip + (UK visa if possible) is also good, why wait till 2021? You might just apply now and get it, because you have a good home ties with what you stated above, nobody here can predict the outcome of your visa Thank you. I want to visit Schengen countries next year Easter. |

I plan to visit US by 2021, I want to have enough travel experience. As for other ties: I am in my late 30s, married with kids, job with good 6 figures, 7 landed properties, 30m+ naira investment in treasury bill & eurobond and about 1m+ in the bank account, for now. I want to build my ties very well before applying in 2021. What do you see to it? |
