@Jarus thanks to your posts and website.... I was able to make good career decisions especially at the last minute when I contemplated going for masters without any work experience like most of my mates. Today it's getting clearer by the day why experience and qualifications matters more than masters degrees of recent, amongst so many other career issues for fresh graduates and job seekers.

No it doesn't, writing the exam alone is just part of the process. Before you become fully chartered, apart from completing and passing all the exams, you have to have at least 2 years working (I think ican) for Acca you have to have 3 years solid documented practical working experience before you can fully be called a qualified chartered accountant.

Ymodulus I know you quite personally you seem to frequent abuja and other parts of the north, I suggest you look at acca exams centre too apart from lagos for ease of access and population stress reduction. But if lagos is ur base no problem then.

@itzlinda I suggest if you want to break in the accounting field try looking out for small audit firms most of them will be happy to employ you without pay so far the experience and exposure is relevant and in line with the accountancy profession leading to your chartered accountant designation. I believe after that with your 2.2 backed up with chartered accountant qualification and experience you can get better prospects career wise and depending on how you go about it as well.

I myself have a 2.2 with a full time job and at the same time working part time as an acca student accountant in abuja here with no pay and I can tell you it's rewarding. Tho its a tedious process and you need discipline and commitment on your part to pull through.

Stick to your job and equip yourself with the experience,skills and other professional qualifications relevant to the job at hand for a minimum of 2 years to maximum of ten years. I can count many of my mates with UK masters degree roaming the streets looking for jobs and even if you get a job without work experience, you be treated on the same level with fresh first degree graduates.

I can recommend you go for masters if you have a deficit (third class or 2.2) in ur results, but still nothing beats having a few years quality working experience before going for a masters degree.

I can only imagine how humiliated & ashamed she'll be with her friends & colleagues. After the whole Nigeria finished dissecting your matter. I can't with all these people blaming Maje Ayida's cheating on Toke Makinwa's career. Is Maje a BABY? He is in control of his own actions.
I wish Toke well. To be cheated upon in this manner and then made the subject of public ridicule will really hurt. Hope she emerges stronger.

from personal experience once it's known that you are working and based in abuja as a female, what comes to the mind of most folks is the high probability of the said "female" getting loose and promiscuous in varying degrees within and outside there control. Hence most unmarried females end up heart broken and single for a long while.

So back to your case, I suspect 2 things:
first is some peeps must have abused and fed your boyfriend's mind with different stories and information about your loyalty to him in far away abuja and how some bigwigs may be pestering you here and there for sexual gratification etc hence giving him grounds and reasons why he should cheat etc
Secondly you said he started blaming you and even got annoyed. That means there's something out there that you may have been doing wrongly and he just put up with you for the meantime. I suggest you take a sincere look at yourself and find out if you have given him any reasons to behave the way he did and as well as his emotional needs.

Tho its normal for you to get angry. But like they say "whatever happens to you in life, you have 80% of the blame and other party (ies) that the remaining 20%". Cheers!

I live directly behind shoprite in one of the estates at apo... and what u claimed is out rightly false. ... yes there's a small river but it's not stinking as you claimed. Remember the road in front of shoprite is full of vehicular traffic human movements coupled with dusts and thick forestry besides and behind shoprite so naturally there is bound to be environmental pollution and odor. Not the type of slum - like stinks, u re trying to project.

Whatever your instincts tells you they are always right at the end. From what you said above I personally will go with the one here despite his flaws. The one abroad I can't really say much of him, but from my knowledge of people living abroad especially in the USA and UK life is not what one think it is, mostly depending on the environment where you find your self along with job stress your marriage tends to be on the line or strained, reasons for all the high cases of physical assaults, divorces and even murdering of the spouses.

Hence from what you said about your ex cheating on you and even turned you to a punching bag such that the reasons given, is damn flimsy for my liking (even if it's just once, he would still do it again when opportuned), I won't root for him but rather I will stay put with the one here afterall ur heart and instincts is with the one here.

from your comments you are not really ready and prepared for marriage. You need to take your time out sort out yourself on what you really want. Besides all this he doesn't care etc to me sounds childish (IMO). it's better you tell your husband what you love and expect from him, let their be open communication between you two.

Hmmmmm... Op you have got to be careful. .. from experience most ladies who got married through there friends recommendations mostly have a long lasting relationship and links in different ways. Your ex recommending her friend to you may cost you something intangible in the future if you go ahead and marry her.

Again given her past and what you said about her, there is a probability that your ex may want to use her friend as a major link to stay or find a way to win your heart which may later lead to unexpected adventures as married individuals.

Who knows if she is truly remorseful and trying to make it up you by recommending one of her decent and "wife material" friends to you.

Not withstanding if you do your homework well on the friend she recommended and your heart along with your brain reason together in one accord, then it's still up to you to take the final action.
