TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by IBEXY(m): 2:47pm On Nov 15, 2006
travelling to yankee to make a living does not in any way portray a lack of love for naija.
lets get that stright.
Only a fool would miss an opportunity to better his life even if it means travelling abroad.
The issue is clear, the economic and social situation in yankee is 100 yrs ahead of that in naija. chikena !
CelebritiesRe: 50 Cent And R-kelly Who Is More Handsome by IBEXY(m): 10:48am On Nov 15, 2006
who is doing these comparisons?

on another thread, they were comparing one female nigerian actress (Genevieve) to a world class gem (Halle) - absolutely no basis for comparison.
Now its an ugly gangster (50) to the king of RnB (Kelly)

if u feel naija is paradise, pack and go back there.
dont come back after six months to this forum moaning about :

power failure
armed robbers
having to bribe everyone for almost everything
agbero at the motor pack
Complete state of anarchy in the streets
etc etc

For some of us who just escaped from these vices, you can imagine how funny it sounds when a home sick guy fantasises about naija.
I have met people who travvelled home for the first time in many years after a bout of nostalgia. Many vowed never to go back. That is to say, spend a long time home at a time. Ask these people what they saw there. Am sure its not hard to locate one of these people.

Anyhow, East or west, Home is best. grin grin grin
TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by IBEXY(m): 7:27pm On Nov 14, 2006
Patriotism is a nice virtue to have as much as love for one's roots.

Running away from threatning situations especially like those to be found in naija should never be construed to mean betrayal.
I lived 90% of my life in Naija and I know what to say about this case. 10% of my life lived abroad has been better than those I stayed in naija.
I love my country and will definitely go back there but I will never agree that life in naija can be compared to yankee.
anyway everything depends on your as status. The secret is coming here legally and organising yourself properly.
No amount of economy and organisation in naija will save you unless your brother is the governement.

For those who still doubt it or are feeling too home sick, take a trip to naija. You will start regretting from the airport when the touts start extorting money from you. What of the armed robber who will trace you to your house from the airport?

It is not a scam!!! its just a way of dissuading people from making the application. they have a quota system which they strickly adhere to, and not doing a refund is making sure that people know that it will hit the pocket when you apply and fail to get the visa.

The best thing to do is stay in your country and build it. Let the politicians know that the citizensput them there to govern in the interest of the people and not in the interest o their friends and family.
Very easy thing to say especially when u are not in naija right now salvaging it together grin
CelebritiesRe: Britney Spears Files For Divorce by IBEXY(m): 10:06am On Nov 08, 2006
Celebrities would delibrately do outrageous things to get publicity. That is a fact.

This same Britney set the record for the shortest lived marriage in hollywood. She got married to a childhood friend (Jason Alexander) and diviorced him just 2 days into the wedding  sad sad

Its obvious it was a publicity stunt.

Even sacred things like marriage will not be spared in the relentless hunt for publicity and popularity.

This time she will pay a huge price for her stupidity. They say she's worth around 70 million pounds.

K-Fed should settle for nothing less than 50%
PoliticsRe: We Need A European Leader To Fix Nigeria? by IBEXY(m): 11:36am On Nov 07, 2006
Nigeria was working when the British people left until we started letting mediocre leaders be in control.
Just take a look at the Cvs of the leaders we have had:

illiterate military daredevils like:

Babangida - i heard he was just an armored car mechanic
Abacha - looter in chief (Lord knows if he is he even educated)

, to mention a few

Do we have good managers and technocrats, a good look at the business and industril sector will convince you.

You said it yourself that you have absolutely no reason to do it.
Why are you here then. huh
To obtain the licence to do it huh
Someone to blame for messing up huh

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Is There Acute Job Scarcity Or Are We Not Employable? by IBEXY(m): 9:20am On Nov 06, 2006
onyek:
There are too many people running after too few jobs. That is the way it is in Nigeria at the moment.

If you can't find a job, then start your own company. Study what people may need and sell the product/service to them. Nigerians love to sit around and wait for people to hand them jobs, you have to create your own life and not expect anyone to do the hard work for you
My dear onyek, I don't blame you for saying Nigerians sit around etc etc. That was absolute trash.  huh angry angry
Do you know how many graduates are out there doing menial jobs below their standard just o make ends meet. If they were lazy like you claim, they would assume a "don't dirty me" attitude and wait fro manna from heaven.
I don't know which area of naija you came from but where I grew, there is nothing they love more than working hard, setting up businesses and the like - myself included.
I bet you never really experienced hardship in naija yourself.  tongue
I have never known a more strugling people than naija and I believe you would agree that even in yankee where you reside, naija people are one of the most hard working people.
Naija people live with a government that works against them - simple.

Lets hope his death will not be an excuse for Iran to finally unleash their new found nuclear might on the rest of the world.
Since their sponsored insurgents did not succeed to highjack the trial process, they could as well put an end to the whole thing - na one rocket e go take.

Just because Iran got away with their nuclear programme, the whole volatile middle east states including — Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria — have told the International Atomic Energy Agency of their intention to develop civil nuclear power programmes.

FamilyRe: My Girlfriend 4 Over 5yrs Has Just Given Me 3 Months To Be A Man Or Loose Her by IBEXY(m): 6:19pm On Nov 05, 2006
Absolute love cannot exist without financial security.
If a woman does not respect you because you are financially insecure to take care of her, forget it.
I learnt this lesson long ago.
Its worse in yankee here. If you dont have money or dont have regularised immigration status, all the babes avoid you like the plague.
Come to think of it, I dont blame them I will do exactly the same.
Foreign AffairsRe: Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death By Hanging by IBEXY(m): 3:24pm On Nov 05, 2006
How many leaders in the world can stand his ground, beat his cheast and say he is completely free of this kind of sin saddam committed.

Even the so called free worlds are remotely (and sometimes directly) responsibly for numerous acts of mass slaughter happening in the world.

As if they would be "found wanting" if they failed to speak up - and that is exactly the problem. Many christians are doing because everyone else is doing it.

Methinks religion - christianity is the most abused stuff in the world

-  hypocrites use it to hide themselves
-  war mongers use to to rally support

If only our boys will know the real situation. Life in UK is not for the faint hearted.
It tears my heart to see our well educated guys cleaning floor in the tube station or counting cash for tesco.
A recent BBC survey got the oyibo people appaled because they found more than half of those cleaners fron naija had Msc or even more.

The failure of our govt has forced many promising guys into an irreversible plunge into slavery in the name of searching for greener pastures abroad.

PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria Not Working? by IBEXY(m): 4:01pm On Nov 03, 2006
One thing for sure that will not save naija is:

spitting out foul mouthed vituperations on this website - especially from some people who are nursing some political ambitions and reside in the INEC office.

by their fruits u shall know them.

they live under the myopic illusion that they are a repository of all the solutions to naija's problems.

sometimes they have a hidden motive for appearing on forums like this:

to spread their warped political gospels and campaign for re-election the 20th time grin grin grin
nigeria is not working fine b/c people like ibexy are busy in london waiting for their servant to build their nation for them. there are bad people in this country and it is the duty of good people to fight them and take over the country. read the history of those countries u guys run to, u'll see where bad people ruled and where good people fought and gave their all, even their lives to get back their country.

all some people say here is that leaders this, leaders that. what of the followers. eh? the students in secret cult in the universities-is it PDP's fault? eh? angry the student that cheats in exams, is it O-B-J's fault. the girl that sells her body in the street, the people who rig the elections at the polling station, was it me? was I in all polling stations? there are problems ,yes, but even with the problems, what nigerians do best is to give excuses. excuses, excuses, excuses. vote u wont come out to vote, when elections are rigged u shout foul. why don't u guys come out en mass and vote and fight for those votes and let's start from there.

nonsense angry
My dear OBJ, I will let u know that I served naija with up to 30yrs of my life before deciding to come here. If you did not know, some of uswho came here did so as a huge sacrifice in order to learn and acquire knowledge with which we can make naija proud tommorow. Unless you are here, you might not appreaciate how dissapointing it is to live in a full functional society while knowing your own home is in the grips of mediocrity. It is a constant thing of sorrow to realise that you might not have a place to go back to afterall because psychophants and the politically misled have taken over our beloved country and turned it into a breeding ground for scammers, corrupt people and the like.

paragraph 2 of your writeup is very amusing. If the young girl in the street had access to at least subsidised cost of education (not even free education o), would she be in the streets. Would you say we cannot afford free education at least up to secondary school. (One state governors ill gotten wealth will be enough to finance that for 5 yrs)

When the youths have nothing else to do, why do you blame them for joining secret cults. Who even uses the cults - the politicians of course, for rigging election. What has government done to curb cultism.

If you read my piece very well you would have found we are saying the same thing. I said part of our problem is:

4. HYPOCRISY PLUS LACK OF STRONG WILLPOWER ON THE PART OF THE PEOPLE TO STAND UP FOR THEIR RIGHTS.

Many good people have joined in applauding and promoting glaringly rotten politicians and government officials simply because they got to their wits end or simply becasue they want a share of the stolen wealth.

Justice will prevail one day.
Christianity EtcDo White People Take Christianity As Seriously As We Do? by IBEXY(op): 10:59am On Nov 03, 2006
I have been going to church since I came into London 2yrs ago. (Catholic church)
What surprises me is that more of the congregation is made up of black people - especially from Africa.
Only elderly white folks go to church.

Are these not supposed to be the people who brought the religion to us?
They suddenly got tired?
Was it a convinient way of subduing our forefathers?
What is going on?
Some of white guys I spoke to laughed and told me that church is just a nice way Africans network and socialise.
A neat way for sharp people to become billionaires
Whaaaathuh
I have started thinking about returning to the old traditional ways we have left to suffer and fade away.
Something is fishy.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Guys Can You Marry A White Woman? by IBEXY(m): 9:26am On Nov 03, 2006
The only problem with marrying a white woman is the cultural differences.
Most will not find it easy to live in Nigeria if u decide to go home one day.
That apart, they are humans too.
Come to think of it, they are sometime easier to have than our sisters out here.
An average African lady wants you for what you've got only (apologies to the genuine ladies).
Most white babes love u for what you are.

CelebritiesRe: I Dont Think Beyonce Is That Beautiful by IBEXY(m): 11:41pm On Nov 02, 2006
i thought this thread was on beyonce huh huh

U guys should remember that U need not be beautiful to be a celebrity - its all about charm and not a fine face.

If u doubt me, think of a certain bulge eyed male actor on the Nigerian movie scene. Most dames will die to have him even look at them.

Beyonce is not the most beautiful celebrity in Hollywood but she is perched on a very lofty height on the A-list of Hollywood stars wether u like it or not.
