IBEXY:
Half of the people you meet in the streets are mental health cases.
This society is so free that raving mad lunatics are allowed to roam freely amongs the people.
Most of the terrible crimes are committed by these people.
damn !

the dust a little misunderstood statement generates.

by "these people", I was refering to the lunatics allowed to roam freely. They can be from any race.

chimaze:
@ IBEXY, We are not talking of Gross Pay here. How much do u save yearly? Abi no be the same UK i dey too?

For the most fortunate ones that have a good job:
Gross Pay is about £30,000.
Income tax will be about £7,000
Council Tax £2000
VAT £2000
Car Tax and Insurance £1000

They are left with about £18000. Then they will pay rent or Mortgage £700/month=£7200/annum.

Remaining £9600 then minus feeding and entertainment cost £200/month=£2400/annum.

Remaining £7200 you will them fuel your car, buy clothes and your girl friend and family that are back home in Nigeria will cost you not less than £4000.

£3200 is what you are left with if you are lucky. My brothers and sisters UK no easy. I don come UK see with my eye. I can never live in the UK. God forbid!!

IBEXY stop decieving people, I doubt if you earn much.
one wise guy said "everything depends on your circumstances" and I will add, "How smart you are".
I agree a lot of guys are not doing well over here. Dont blame me for that.
If you are stuck in £30k bracket, well sorry. I transcended that many moons ago.
So now you know what am talking about.

You forget also that a lot of people here do not do all the expenses you listed out. A lot many people do not pay council tax, dont own a car nor do they pay any mortgage. That puts back more than 50% of what you classed as expenses back into their pocket.
Most people came here with the intentions of not returning to naija. They take up a huge mortgage, buy the biggest car and end up paying huge taxes and moan about how taxing the system is.
Apart from salaries, there are many ways to benefit legitimately from this system - in ways you would never get it in naija.
Will you blame anyone if you failed to use your brains and depended only on £30k for your daily living.
Damn!
I thought all naija people were wise.
Even ordinary student here sef de make am if dem work hard and use their brains.
PoliticsRe: I Will Vote For Babanginda by IBEXY(m): 1:07am On Nov 22, 2006
how many time does fire need to burn you before you learn.
Be wise o naija people
beware of former military people
especially those who were mere armoured car mechanics
Like as before, they have nothing to offer

IBEXY,i wasn`t trying to boast, like u said but simpy trying let folks realise the fact that one can live comfortably in Naija without so much hassles,as long as you can pick up your basic bills, and do some good stuff 4 yourself etc.
Sorry if I nearly lost my cool but there was no need for u to bore us with a list of your achievements.
This forum has people who have achieved 10 times that right here in yankee.

grin

For more info :
carrying old retired folks can pay as much as 500k in naira
Scrubing toilet in the right place pays over 250k in naira
abi na security u wan talk. That one na saraa.
Tell me, is it not oil company rates in naija.
For the brainy one who live in the smallest apartment they can find, reduce whoring and clubbing, why can't you establish an IT comapny, erect a house in ya father's compound and do other things considered to be success.
TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by IBEXY(m): 10:20am On Nov 21, 2006
Cool ya temper bros.
If we all start boasting here, U may not be able to compete - after all ya pay is in naira.
For each naira you get, I make over 200 and am not scrubbing toilet like you are made to believe.
Even the toilet scrubbers know what hey are doing - its only for a time and they get paid for it.
For those who manage themselves well, they can achieve the same thing you have - right out of the toilet grin
Relax.
We all cannot be in naija
Considers those here to be you ambasadors.
Afterall someone gotta represent the green-white-green here.

Another bout of 419 endorsement, mass murder, maradonnic govt policies, large scale looting etc.
God forbid!
Pair him with even Christ and I will not vote.
U talk about influence, what influence.
The only influence the likes of Babangida has overseas is that of a looter. Oyibo de make joke of us here everyday.

Talking about political weight, that comes with time and how good you are.
If the people support and benefit from your administration, thats it.
Lets forget about tried and tested but failed leaders.
IBB had his chance and messed up. Lets move on people.

Ghana is far more peaceful compared to naija o.
A few naija people have relocated to there from yankee - believe it or not.
I know a couple who even went there for their honey moon from London here.

yaa ataa:
Do you mean 'White peeps' when you u say 'These'. Because the fact remains that white men are prone to behaviour like this - it was even on the news, they had a special report.
Its not a white /black thing. Mad men come in all the colour shades. Take a trip to places with more of "our type of people" - Brixton, Tottenham. Its filled with these kind of happenings, muggings, gun crimes. Granted some kind of crimes are done more by the whites eg the paedo thing. Still its a fact that major crimes are committed by criminally insane people because they were allowed to roam about in the name of free society. I think they have finally decided to handle this issue. If am not mistaken, it was part of the issues in the last queen's speech. Mentally imbalanced people, especially those considered to be dangerous will be locked up henceforth.

how can u convince me naija is better for me when I get nearly ten times the pay I used to get in naija over here.
make una go rest jare.
I see it as a lucky break coming out here because, honestly, the future really looked bleak back home in naija.
Dont misunderstand me
I love naija but I cannot class it alongside yankee.
If anyone gets overwhelmed by nostalgia or homesickness, let him go home.
As for me, I want to make more £££.
For those brothers who are making it back home, keep on keeping on.
Christianity EtcRe: How Would You Describe Jesus? by IBEXY(m): 11:08pm On Nov 19, 2006
The scriptures tell us,he laid down his life.
That was the plan of God from the very foundation of the world.
May the Lord grant you understanding.
Do u know what other people's scripture said about Jesus.
surely there were other writer apart from the scriptural writers.
I believe in a broad knowledge base about a topic.
Christianity EtcRe: How Would You Describe Jesus? by IBEXY(m): 10:39pm On Nov 19, 2006
that depends from which religious platform u view it.
Christianity EtcRe: How Would You Describe Jesus? by IBEXY(m): 8:25pm On Nov 19, 2006
One of the greatest men that ever lived.
Unique in the sense that he left a lasting impression brought about by his message of peace and tolerance.

From another angle he was a great political figure.
He came at a time his people needed independence from oppressive Roman rule and elimination of corruption among the tribal leaders and priests.
He is different because instead of adopting guerilla warfare, he used dialogue.
It still cost him his life.
RomanceRe: I'm I A Gay? by IBEXY(m): 7:32pm On Nov 19, 2006
ok grin

dont get frightened

i was trying to answer your question.

u are not gay. u dont just like this babe.

have fun grin
RomanceRe: I'm I A Gay? by IBEXY(m): 5:25pm On Nov 19, 2006
If u never fantasised about men, then why do u think u are gay huh

Gay men fantasise about thier fellow men.

I dont think u have any problems at all.

You are just a young lad getting the 'feelings' for the first time.

Dont rush. Things will take its normal course.
RomanceRe: I'm I A Gay? by IBEXY(m): 5:20pm On Nov 19, 2006
if u are gay, u are gay.
its not something u solve by positive thinking
it is more of your biological makeup
here in the uk, they know that fact so gay people are protected from homophobes by the law.
Gay people cant help it. They were created that way. That is why we need to understand them.
Forget some preachers here who want you to "repent" (that is if u are really gay) and live the rest of your life in denial and perpetual suppression.
Any way, I sympathise with you (if u are really gay) because u live in a place where such things are seen as evil and can only exist in the pits of hell.
