Music/RadioRe: Tupac (2Pac) Is Alive by IBEXY(m): 12:28am On Nov 27, 2006
at least we have a photo trick prooving he is dead.
Produce evidence he is alive.
For me Tupac is as dead as Elvis Presley, Bob Marley and other legends whom some of their die hard fans cannot come to terms with their deaths?
Some people just want to keep fueling the conspiracy theory that he is alive in order to be selling records.

I don't think Dictatorship is the only other alternative left if one refuses AMERICAN version of Democracy.  undecided
There are several rich, stable nations not practicing George Bush' version of democracy

chimaze:
@ IBEXY. What do you do & How much do you earn? I will really love to meet you. You just seat on your PC and type rubbish. How many of your friends do not pay council taxes?

IBEXY Forget talk talk, and igbo proverb says that "you can't measure success in the sacks of money you've got, but what you've done with it (investments)". So I am asking you, what do you have? How many properties have you got in Nigeria? How many people have you helped in your community. Been successful is not by working 9-5 and earning some spare change which you call salary.

@ SOMEBODY. Could you tell me the number of guys (under 35) that you know, who earns more than £30k? Why una dey lie lie? for Gods sake?

Plenty Guys in Nigeria are making millions every year, while you guys are in the UK deceiving yourselves that you are earning pounds. As I said before most Nigerians in the UK are living fake lives. They are walking around like if they own the world but they've got nothing.

As I said before "My eyes don open, you guys no go deceive me again".
@ Chimaze,

grin grin grin grin grin

finally hit em where it hurts.

Cool ya temper.
I am not in the mood to disclose how many or where my properties are (especially to a fellow naija man, sorry).
I will also tell you that I quit depending entirely on 9-5 many moons back. Remember I said that.
As an Ibo man, I found business is a nice supplement to the wage thing.
Whom have I helped? smiley
I used to work in an oil servicing company in rivers state before I came here. Today I am like a king in my village because at least FIVE people went into the same place through me. My very position was taken over by a brother before I came here. So don't even ask about whom I have helped. You know how "easy" it can be to secure a job that pays over 40k a month in naija today.

Anyway we are not here to bore people with our achievements.

I'll tell you about one naija guy I know here. Maybe it will tell you why most people fail in yankee.
I recently met a naija guy who happened to be British. This guy has lived here since 2002.
When he first came, he could not believe his eyes at the opportunities the British passport could bring.
He went on a borrowing spree. (the banks were ready to lend, why not grab as much as possible).
He rented a one bedroom flat, furnished it, put in sky with all the sports and movie channels.
He generally assumed a live that can only be found in paradise.
Note: He refused to improve on his education (he had only school cert), He refused to learn any trade also. He never went into business.
He was content with doing security job.
He sent thousands of his borrowd money home where the impression was created that he had finally "arrived"
Bills started mounting - credit cards, loans.
As at the last time we spoke, he was planning to declare himself bankrupt as he was owng nearly 20k (pounds)
As at today he works with a charity outfit. Luckily they gave him free accomodation. He tells me how desperate he is to learn computing. Anotherday he tells me he wants to learn plumbing. He is not even married and he is over 35 years.
I remember him telling me the other day he does not know what shares and stock are.
Tell me what this guy will say about UK.
Of course its a terrible place with huge tax bills and unattainable goals.
Be wise. Make proper use of all opportunities.

buchio7:
I for one believed that the invasion of iraq under bush jnr was not necessary and was very rash but let us look beyond iraq to other scenarios where u.s. intervention has actually helped to ameliorate issues e.g. the invasion of kuwait by saddam in 1991,world war II e.t.c.
You believe deep down in you that the invasion of Iraq was a ruse to settle whaetever scores US had with Iraq. Recent events have revealed the claim of Weapons of Mass dectruction was delibrately drummed up to seek justification.
How can a lying, bullying nation get moral justification to fight evil.

buchio7:
noone my brother but who else do u think that can fight them? or who do u feel has d will to embark on same?
The UN can play the same role if US would give 100% support as is meant to be. Or dont u think?

Why was the UN set up? Who is the greatest threat to the existence of UN today? Maybe its America once again.

If America would throw their weight behind the UN instead of pursuing solo, selfish exploits, dont u think the UN would for once live up to expectation.

The same America will be the first to defy and even challenge this same institution they helped set up to profer world peace.

PoliticsRe: Does America Earn The Right To Police The World? Is it a Divine Duty? by IBEXY(op): 10:30am On Nov 24, 2006
Some christian fanatics think its divine intervention since they have concluded that the antichrist will come from the middle east.
President Bush frequently uses this false claim to good advantage. Trust a politician.
FamilyRe: Beer Is Beer Aint It? by IBEXY(m): 11:16pm On Nov 23, 2006
Beer is essentially beer.
The difference lies in the % of alchohol in any particular brand.
Some are therefore stronger than others.
Apart from this, the difference is just in the colour or shape of the bottle

PoliticsDoes America Earn The Right To Police The World? Is it a Divine Duty? by IBEXY(op): 9:52pm On Nov 23, 2006
Does America earn the right to police the world?
If you think so, what is the UN doing for us all then?
Do you think the UN has become irrelevant?

I have a political science friend who told me America is fulfilling a moral and political role in pursuing the fights they have in Iraq and other places.
He sees it as a fight against the anti christ. That America is carrying out a devine duty.

Well I don't see much of what they are doing except bullying oil rich nations and imposing puppet regimes on them.
Is America really saving the world from a relentless onslaught of terrorists from the middle east or they a just an oil hungry nation of smart alecs.
What or who gave America the right to save us from terrorists?

TravelRe: Is Life Really Better Abroad? by IBEXY(m): 10:34am On Nov 23, 2006
my brother tell them
some disgruntled elements here have even accused yankee based people to be traitors, prodigal sons
Should one continue to suffer in order to proove you love naija?
Before travelling out many people have contributed in one way or the other to try and make naija greater.
The system keeps getting worse. What else is there except to try your luck somewhere else.
I salute the bros who have and have continued to make it there.
Of course we all love naija but I got responsibilities, I want feel secure, I want to pay taxes (no matter how big) and reap the benefits.
Though yankee may be tough and hard, (I gree with una), the dividends of living here are sometimes things you can only dream about in naija.
CultureRe: Would You Marry An Osu? by IBEXY(m): 9:50am On Nov 23, 2006
@ fresh-B

Are u here to cast guilt or to express you opinion or suggest a solution.
Of course the solution is abolition but I know even you do not have the balls to start.
I know your type:
You sin in the closet and claim to be saints in public (no offence please)
Condemn it in public, go home and stick to your guns.
I don't need to read all the boring submissions u made to this forum to know that.
If you are really Onye Igbo that is aware of this stupid tradition, you would tread softly on this one.
We are all are sympathetic to the situation.

You said
OPEN ya ears, i hav ate with them, slept with them (not sexually), infact they are my brothers an sister. let any of my Ndi ICHIE or EKPE, OZO,  or wha ever come hold mi let mi see.
Why not sexually and why did you have to emphasise that. I hate hypocrites. Expecially those who race to blame others. I bet you always had the chance to dig it with one of those dames. What held you back bro?

Who said osu people are not our brothers. Read my first thread very well before rushing to cast guilt. I actually schooled with them. In fact I have done more than you did. I actually lived in the same dormitory with them.

To let you in on a little secret, (this is my privacy but no probs)
One of my uncles actually married one of these damsels. I was very young in the 80s but I know what he passed through. Not from the family but other members of the community. These days nobody really cares anymore. You can see I obviously know more than you do about associating with these ill treated brethrens. I actually have cousins born of a union between what people call osu and my uncle. They are my brothers/sisters. My cousins are like everyother person. No one even thinks or mentions of some segregations.

I said the solution will come but with time. I never said: hey let the system continue.

Some people lack a proper sense of analyses and judgement. Read my statements properly before trying to become a hero off my back bro.
If you are going to become a social crusader you've got to sharpen your cognitive perceptions. Dont cast guilt until you really digest and understand what people have said.

Oh my god you finnaly captured a stone age osu hater!

Abeg keep quiet if you have nothing more than witch hunting to contribute to this thread.

CultureRe: Would You Marry An Osu? by IBEXY(m): 1:07am On Nov 23, 2006
the osu thing is really terrible.
I had them in my secondary school days
some stupid boys would openly discriminate against them, even tell them openly that they were an osu.
I really felt for those guys
Even on bazaar day in the church, no one would willingly buy products from them
This topic really makes me uncomfortable
Deep in everyone's heart, we may want to abolish the damned system but
who will bell the cat

Christianity EtcRe: How Can God Allow Such? by IBEXY(m): 7:17pm On Nov 22, 2006
The issue is we misunderstand this entity called God.
It is not within the powers of our faculties to understand him.
He is neither good nor bad (the way we understand it)
Why would a father inflict sorrow on his son just to proove his almighty, omniscient and omnipotent nature.
