semid4lyfe: Someone here recommended Tehran as a series to watch. I want to thank the person cos it's extremely good.
It doesn't have the gripping race against time, thrilling action, suspense & shock value of 24 but it's more realistic, more believable, and I consider it better made than 24. Even better than Day of the Jackal.
Also, I like the Israel (Mossad) vs Iran (Iran Revolutionary Guard) arch of the series. It's refreshingly different. No be every time CIA, MI6, MI5 etc go be protagonist for movie.
I binge-watched Season 1 & 2 yesterday, and I absolutely enjoyed it.
If espionage thrillers are your thing, I absolutely recommend it cos (in Ola of Lagos voice), you will love it.
Meanwhile, I read online that Season 3 is out. Can anyone help with links to download? I don search tire but I no see. I must watch this, don't tell me sodiqi made this recommendation |

cococandy: Ibime another thing you have to consider with healthcare systems is that depending on who’s heading the regional market, the experience of the employee is going to be vastly different. When I lived in Seattle, Kaiser was the devil according to some nurses and patients. I was a new grad then and I worked for a different system that I loved until they got acquired by another big corporation and everything turned on its head. Even in UK, experience is regional. For example, I had one hospital in Manchester that had a great reimbursement rate from insurers, and allowed us to provide higher levels of care. Just 20 miles down the road we had another one where Insurance rates were not great causing us to squeeze the staffing. Typically in healthcare, Staffing is 30% of your cost and the biggest line you have leverage over. Most other costs such as Supplies (also around 30% but already signed up to multiyear agreements, rent, pro fees etc cannot be impacted quickly). Between both Hospitals, you could not even beg staff to move from the first Hospital to the 2nd one and turnover/stress levels/job dissatisfaction was more than double in the 2nd one. It all comes down to the bottom line and company culture. Most times the bottom line also defines the company culture. In one of my sites in Birmingham, I had the most pleasant CEO, the kindest and most humane woman you could meet but the site wasn't doing well because the commercial agreements weren't great. Despite her lovely nature, the culture started turning toxic as we had to squeeze staffing. That was finally the reason I left because the bosses were expecting water out of stone from a bad business case, losing 7 figures a month, causing me to squeeze the staffing to stressful levels, plus too much travel demands on me to be going there 4 times a week to turn it round, so I had to find something closer to home before they give me HBP. |

raumdeuter: In Medical circles in the US, HCA generally does not have a good reputation, Especially with their employees, they are very cu throat, They pay their doctors poorly e.g when a regular doctor at other healtcare system should be making say 250 to 350K, HCA might say they pay you 120k and the rest is based on RVUs
In Texas for example they run all the Medical City Hospitals. Many Doctors and Nurses will rather avoid them if you can and go to Baylor Scott white, Texas Health or Methodist
The way HCA is run, you will think maybe they are starting to have a lot of Indian mid to senior managers and putting in practices you will see more in countries outside US Na Una get first hand experience so I no go argue with una. I believe Medical City is a slightly different model. One of my former colleague (black girl) came here and when she returned to USA she went to a Kindred facility as CEO, she no want stay within HCA for various reasons bordering on what you are saying. But as for UK, HCA is the best for the simple reason that we received 30% more reimbursement from Insurers than all our competitors for most of our hospitals, so we had more headroom to provide better and more cutting edge care. |

cococandy: HCA complaints precede COVID.
We have forums for rating places we work so that other colleagues can proceed with caution. No one has anything to say about nice HCA in America.
I don’t know anything about the UK healthcare system so they might be great over there. I didn’t even realize they are there too. Your post is the first I’m hearing of it . Yeah, they are one of the big providers in UK and their reputation over here is the best among the Private providers. UK is their only venture abroad, though we had some legal setups in Ireland and Luxembourg for tax reasons. UK is about £1 bln yearly revenue and USA about $60 bln yearly. It could be that they are more gungho in USA, certainly our bosses in Nashville were more aggressive if we missed targets than you would expect from an Englishman in a Corporate environment. |

cococandy: I don’t know what the UK system is like but HCA is the devil in American healthcare circles. Never met a nurse who worked for them in America that had anything good to say. It is possible that other non-patient facing roles won’t have same complaints working for them because they’re not the ones bearing the brunt of low staffing issues.
However those two were just examples. And all of this is alleged because I don’t have money for lawsuit. The fear of HCA is the beginning of wisdom.😫 This survey was done during Covid. Show me a survey of nurses during COVID that won't show stress when they were all falling out sick at zero moments notice. During COVID, I was almost fully working Supply Chain, that's how bad things were. Army were seizing our inventories sef to divert to NHS, you gast dey go beg Army to release your stock almost every day. |

cococandy: Take for example Two healthcare systems HCA versus Kaiser. HCA practices unbridled capitalism. They do not follow safe staffing ratios. They put critically ill patients in observation units instead of transferring out as needed. They will staff critical care nurses above the recommended safe limits so that your critically ill family member is not receiving the level of monitoring they need for their dire situation. All so they can save on staffing costs. I don't agree with this. Have you worked for HCA or are you going off media reports? I worked in finance for HCA for over 12 years overseeing 7 Hospitals in my regions. As far as the UK is concerned, HCA have the best nurse to patient ratio with 3:1 daytime and 4:1 at night for Acute medical patients (mostly cancer) and 5:1 for surgical patients compared to NHS where you can see 8:1 to even 10:1 for Surgical patients. I believe the same ratios apply in the US but cannot say with certainty. HCA ratios better Circle, Spire, Ramsay and Nuffield in the UK which were our main competitors. |

Interest rates on US bonds went from 3.9% to 4.5% in the last couple of days.
0.6% on $37 trillion debt is a lot of money, essentially another $222 bln in interest payments added to the ledger on an annual basis
Donny had to watch the Bond market and fold.
But the damage may be done. US bonds are a safe haven of last resort for the whole world. Like I said, USA is a money market. It's where the world likes to put their money given the uncertainty everywhere else in the world, and consistency and open markets are expected, not flipflopping and rent seeking.

basilico: Never compare Saudi bombing with America or Israeli. If America decides to bomb you , better say your last.
https://www.axios.com/2025/03/30/trump-iran-nuclear-deal-bombing
If they don't agree to a deal their nuclear facilities might go up in flames At this time the Iranians 4 S-300 defence systems were taken out by Israel ,so Iran is pretty vulnerable. The good thing about Trump is he is unpredictable, noone is sure what he will do next while he is offering you a way out
For instance noone thought he would up the tarriffs in China to 104%. Shark Tank” star and investor Kevin O’Leary says President Trump’s tariffs on China aren’t high enough and calls for a 400% tariff on the country. “It’s time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall " Bombing Iran or Lebanon, a civilian population with expectations of a certain level of comfort is different to bombing Houthis who have accepted rugged life and are zombies. USA can bomb them as they are faraway no problem, Saudi should stay out of it for their own sake. A word is enough for the wise |
