shoodboi2: The rate at which you find some funny "fact" to latch onto needs to be studied. It makes you sound dumb and not intelligent.
Ibime, interest rates go down in a recession and not up. So, Russia's average (not high) interest rate is a sign of a healthy economy. Use your head. Don't be a slowpoke. We are in 2024. You are an uneducated simpleton Are China and India in a recession? Any interest rate above 7% is a sign of raging inflation and currency instability Only banana republics have double digit interest rates USA interest rate - 5.5% EU interest rate - 4.5% India interest rate - 6.5% China interest rate - 3.5% UK interest rate - 5% Saudi interest rate - 6% UAE interest rate - 5% Switzerland interest rate - 1.5% Kenya interest rate - 13% South Sudan interest rate - 15% Mozambique interest rate - 16% Russia interest rate - 16% Gambia interest rate - 17% Lebanon interest rate - 20% Pakistan interest rate - 20% Nigeria interest rate - 24% Egypt interest rate - 27% Venezuela interest rate - 59% Zimbabwe interest rate - 150% Spot the Banana Republic feeling funky. |

Vl3ly: New world goes up by GDP PPP
The World Bank published a new ranking of GDP by PPP; Russia has closely approached Japan, while Indonesia has overtaken Germany.
China has further pulled ahead of the USA. France, Italy, and the UK have dropped down a few places. Mexico and Turkey have moved up.
Countries that have introduced sanctions against Russia are falling, while others are growing, a trend that has continued for the second year in a row.@ibime😁😁😁😁😁 Fool. Turkey that is battling 70% inflation. Where is Nigeria on list, let's check Nigeria growth, then you tell me whether reality on ground is rosy. Only a country like Russia will be having 16% interest rate and be telling their bots everything is fine. Have you seen someone doing fine with 16% interest rate that is only seen in Banana Republics? |

A40: I won't sit and pretend Africa is some utopia for women so I fully understand the need for some of these programs with or without the feminist label. I never see church with Widowers ministry. E get why
Well when you make feminism your whole personality especially the radicalized one most Nigerian girls practice these days you expose yourself to increased scrutiny. I strongly suspect Alakija is capping. I'm not moved by extremely wealthy minorities doing mundane tasks. Asking the average majority to outsource what they can barely afford (tasks like cooking and cleaning) is what I find a but silly
And when you say killing it. That's good but we're in modern times. Fathers are sending their daughters to school the same way they're sending sons to school (maybe the North is the sole exception)
Being self sufficient should be the minimum expectation. I'm tired of seeing babes pat themselves on the back for ability to do basic things like pay their own bills. I'm independent yenyenyen. No. You're an adult, you don't get extra props for that
I think you're strongly underrating the influence of Western culture. I daresay every Western and South African country has picked up the good, bad and ugly of American trends and pop culture
Well. As far as displaying wife material and what not, same way there are certain qualities like a man being able to provide, pay Bills, perform romance are traits most women seek. So what's wrong in women advertising things they believe will land them a good partner.
I thought feminism was about the right for women to choose? So why is there always negative responses to women whose ambition is to go to their 'husband's house'
What I've found about Nigerian women feminism is that when push comes to shove they still want the perks of patriarchy. Can't have it both ways and be surprised men don't take it seriously
What is wrong in being one of the boys? Isn't that a derogatory term you guys throw on women that aren't marching lock, step with y'all agenda. All your popular female acts aren't they mostly powered, funded and supported by men?
But that's the thing. If the Kiki was not outed unwittingly we would never know how she really felt about the music. She will join you people to slander Odumodu tomorrow and everyone would be non the wiser. So we don't even know that any of you is standing on business
In fact what I saw more of was them so called feminists dissing the guy for outing the girl in the video and suggesting he did it with malicious intent. I saw more of you people call the guy out for outing his 'friend' than calling the said Kiki out herself
Funny sidenote cos the wedding was that of a popular Nairalander here. Eldee. I couldn't stop laughing when I found out
Not FW Odumodu is a personal choice. I don't consider his music particularly my cup of tea either but I see the musicians Nigeria stan so clearly the hate is more personal than objective.
But what did he say that's a lie? Babes are not fvckin for wig and handbag? Cos most of the relationship takes I see from the average Nigerian and black woman today involves some form of spending before fvckin
Also I don't know that Zulezoo was singing about rape. They came out and said that?
Seems you people successfully spun a song about a woman playing away match to rape. What boy sits and watches their mother get violated. I'm fairly certain the boy was reporting his mom entertaining male guests while his dad traveled
I was old enough to remember when that song came out. I know how you people respond to anything that puts women in unflattering light. Even when said behavior is true. Just like how women react when you bring up paternity fraud. Like there aren't women the world over conning men to raising other men's kids Calm down guy. If you want toast this babe, mention her on another thread abeg. What is this epistle? |

BlueRayDick: This is the million dollar question. Fight seems to be between Sani and Rufais son. Rufai confirmed all the numbers Sani put forward before he left, so there is no argument about what he left. He has restricted Sani to follow his precommitments and service his loans. There is enough for that, but not enough for Sani to drive his own agenda without harming salaries and pensions. Sani wants his own projects to chop from I guess Anyone interested about KD commitments and debt to revenue ratios can download their report. BlueRayDick: Nobody arguing what Uba Sani said cos it's out in the open. Below is what he said
What Theflint1 and other people like myself are concerned about is what the governor didn't say. He didn't talk about the IGR. Yes we undertand there's exchnage fluctuatuons which is affecting the amount they are using to service the debt from FAAC allocation.
But what happened to the IGR generated locally ? Like the IGR they generate in real time at the current value of the naira ? He kept mum about that but boldly telling who cares to listen that anytime soon salary might stop for civil servants .
The fact that u got March salary as a civil servant does not mean u will get April's. The way the governor came out to announce this unprovoked shows there's shege ahead. Except he just feels like spreading panic to u guys sha Maybe he is creating space to chop for future. That said, El-Rufai excuse of borrowing for the Kaduna economy to spend its way out of COVID is lame. Stimulating consumption through Keynesian initiatives is not really in the hands of State Governors, and is more of a National initiative. A state can't really spend its way out of a morose National situation. |

monerozi5590: Uba Sani is complaining about the exchange rate in paying debt.
If you check what he said yesterday, they deducted his FAAC to service debt. He only received the net allocation.
Kaduna State is paying salary. Kaduna State is not owing her workers one kobo. You are right. Kaduna IGR is about N80bln per year, more than enough to cover salaries etc. Why the mudslinging between Sani and ElRufai?

I still haven't seen anything to criticise Tinubu on except corruption which is a fact of life in Nigeria. All steps he's taken have been from the neoclassical textbook and required bravery which I don't think any other President would have. The man is really a free market capitalist. Unfortunately shock therapy is shock therapy and Nigerians must cash the structural adjustment cheque they have been writing for the last 15 years. Ibime: As concerns our current hardship, Tinubu go inevitably suffer the anger of the people. I'm 100% certain he knew what he was walking into and the sapa that will be unleashed and I believe he is ready to take the flack. I don't share the same anger as people directly impacted by the current inflation, I'm sure I would in their situation. But I think Tinubu and Cardoso are taking steps I would expect, albeit too late for Nigeria and akin to putting a plaster over a gaping wound.
Examples are clearing FX backlog, auditing FX liabilities and rejecting fraudulent submissions, CBN oversight over NNPC remittances, and increasing our bpd production with the return of security contracts to Tompolo. Nigeria has lost 30-40% of it's production in the last decade, and more importantly so, lost a good portion of its onshore production which produces more favourable income sharing than offshore where the oil companies take more % due to the complexity and cost of deep sea drilling. I would also now expect a restructuring of all of Nigerias loans to more favourable long term loans. None of these would balance the Naira sufficiently but at least someone is doing something unlike Buhari and Emefiele who buried their head in the sand and passed the problem on. |
