Any governor wey still dey borrow for capital projects that won't directly benefit the basic needs of their people...instead to invest in areas that would secure the fundamental needs of the common man, such as jobs, food, shelter and education....must end up like Ekweremadu.

As long as you can borrow to have 10 times the budget of the previous Governor and deliver 3 times the projects, with just 30% of that budget, most Nigerians will hail you because they are mostly financially illiterate. Meanwhile you loot the other 70%. 8 years from now he will start hiring pressmen to write and blame the incoming Governor having left him bankrupt.

Not counting regular maintenance and replacement costs they will face over the 20 years apart from likely operational losses without Govt intervention

Assuming they never borrow again, which they must given the expansion of their civil service this budget will bring, where would they get IGR to pay back N600bln plus? Current IGR is N20bln per year

I already feel sorry for investors IRR on that project with dollar at N1.5k and selling to electricity consumers in Naira. The project will return negative NPV even over 20 year timeline
