OasisX:No they are not. Their constitution calls for the destruction of Israel. They must change constitution first before coming to the table |
OasisX:2 state solution requires willing counterparty to negotiations. That has been off the table since Hamas took over Gaza |
GloriousGbola:That's just conspiracy theory. Some Arab spring favoured Saudi especially where they could affect regime change in Shia controlled states like Syria and Libya where Ghaddaffi was insulting their King. Saudi Govt is actually on Israel side and just want to sign the Abraham accord. Whether the current Gaza situation will push their people into protest and change Government stance is the koko. Saudi regional goals are for peace. Saudi real population is small and is only half their population, the rest are immigrants. Same goes for all the other Gulf states. Qatar real population is only less than 500,000 when you remove the immigrants. It is in their interest to seek peace and economic prosperity cos they don't have population for war, and the population they have are too rich to fight. Iran for example will flatten all of them if they don't have alliances elsewhere. Their strategic goal is to transition from oil and develop their economy for a post-oil world. Part of the Abraham accords includes running pipelines through Israel, and Abraham accords guarantees peace regardless of the question of Palestine. All Gulf states follow Saudi in their strategic goals (UAE, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait) but Qatar sometimes goes off message as seen in the sanctions they all put on Qatar in the late 2010s. That's why I'm looking to see where Qatar lands in all of this. |
GloriousGbola:The Communist states have always sided with Palestine clandestinely and use North Korea and Cuba as spearhead. North Korea and Cuba participated in the Yom Kippur war on the side of the Arab League. Even today and as far back as mid 2000s, Bolivia has cut off ties with Israel. |
donjazzet:Russia has long been promoting anti-Jewish sentiment since the Ukraine war started. It's in their interest as they are blocked from Western market and their only area of economic expansion is to the East and Arab world. Instability in Middle East also favours them as oil and gas price will rise. In addition, they have forged close ties with Israels enemies like Iran, Syria and North Korea over the last couple of years. Israel killing civilians in response also gives them perfect cover and moral equivalence for what they would do in Ukraine. Most importantly, they want the flow of air defence missiles to go to Israel, leaving Ukraine lacking this winter when they will continue their bombardment of Kiev. Each Patriot missile for example costs $4m and there is finite supply. Imagine Hezbollah throwing rockets upon rockets on Israel, the West will quickly exhaust of air defence missiles to give Ukraine. Just couple of days ago, Hezbollah threw 4 missiles at Israel. Israel allowed two to land in open field and shot down 2. That's $8m gone, for what probably cost Hezbollah only some tens of thousands. Hezbollah alone has over 130,000 missiles, so you can see how they would drain the West stockpiles of air defence missiles in Israel alone. That's all to Russias favour. Qatar is another deadly country in social media war. Not sure what side they are on in this conflict, but they essentially originated, sponsored and handled PR for the Libyan revolution that eventually toppled Ghaddaffi. They are strong in PR game, from Al Jazeera to Social media. |
donjazzet:Palestinians always have been more popular in the West, at least among those that will enter street. People who support establishment don't enter street. Palestinians have always had the left wing sympathies, anti-apartheid sympathies, Arab and Muslim sympathies, Nazi sympathies, and now Z people (Russian) and far-right sympathies. Their coalition of various groups is broader, and with social media, they have more voice. Social media also incentives outrage over plain talk so their viewpoint will be shared more. There are also state actors with social media farms like Russia, Qatar that will be promoting and sharing it. |
obainojazz:A friend from uni football team who was arguing in favour of ISIS in 2014 and whose heart wasn't touched by ethnic slaughter of Yazidis by ISIS has suddenly turned human rights champion on our Uni Watsapp group over Gazans. |
Amoto94:Celebration on the streets indicate Hamas initial attack was a very popular act in both West Bank and Gaza The irony of those who celebrated in their minds and openly the deliberate targeting and murder of civilians, now becoming the greatest champions of civilians rights after unintentional collateral damage to civilians in the Israeli response. It's either you recognize the innocence of civilians or you don't. What I see is one state (Gaza) that deliberately attacks civilians and another (Israel) that goes out of its way to warn civilians on where to go, even drop information leaflets to minimise civilian casualties. Standards are different.

GloriousGbola:Palestinians are actually winning the PR war very handsomely It's almost impossible for Israel to win a PR war except they did not retaliate at all |
PDPGuy:He's brought them on leaps and bounds. The guy is realistic. He knows their small population (real citizens only) can't fight war so he is toeing the path of peace and prosperity. Peace is the only way out for Saudi and the only way their investments can thrive, as they need to invest in a future away from oil |
PDPGuy:Why bribe 100 FIFA officials and delegates when you can just bribe one Federation to step down. This na bribery wey go Harvard |
Capaldi:Calm down fess. We are still trying to recover from your previous two picks for no10 position, Havertz and Felix. Nobody that is always looking for players in redundant position like no10 should be taken seriously |
raumdeuter:Anyone who knows Tinubus doings knows that PDP would barely exist by 2027. Nigeria will become a one party state because Tinubu always looks for a way to merge peoples interests Ibime: |
![]() P Diddy - "You ain't got to like me/ You just mad. . .cos I tell it how it is. . . . and you tell it how it might be/" |
Ballzproblemm:Your PH level is acidic if you can't tell that TamunoIbime is a Rivers name. You be immigrant?

PDPGuy:

vanitybutiwanti:King of Bonny and Opobo are irrelevant. No be them dey call shots, they are civilians. They should be careful. King of Opobo na my relative sef, na Okrika man, but we go close mouth for that one |
vanitybutiwanti:You done see am. Most of the gangsters are supporting Wike so Simi gasto bow out for peace to reign |
vanitybutiwanti:People can be behind Simi all they want. The people were behind Peter Obi but look what Wike did, especially in Obio Akpor People don't matter. What's best for people is that "other" people aren't armed and violence erupts. The violence is not just for the battle itself but the guns that will stay in the protagonists hands and be used for economic crimes years down the line This "peace" we dey enjoy for Rivers State so is based on arrangements between gangsters. You say Edison from Ahoada is supporting Simi because Ahoada is next in line. Is Edison at peace with Felix Obuah (sponsor of Don Wanni), and Godfather of Omoku/Ahoada axis? From my calculations, Felix Obuah is on Wike side and is chairman of PDP in Rivers State so given that mostly PDP lawmakers impeached Edison, that means Edison is going against his Godfather (Obuah) and na Ahoada go suffer the consequence. You know how wicked Obuah is, check all the beheadings and violence in that axis from 2015 to 2017. Then you have other warlords in the different constituencies. I don't see Ateke and Asari going against Wike, and if they do, Wike will arm other Okrika and Kalabari warlords to usurp them in those areas which will burn down those areas like in Odili/Abiye Sekibo days. The peace we have is based on gangsters agreement. The gangsters should come to agreement, peoples choice don't matter, it's better for the people when the gangsters agree. |
My take on Simi/Wike issue is Simi should evacuate Government House than cause an Ijaw-upland issue You be gangster, you either follow the gangster rules or you come out, don't inflame Ijaw people into a fight with their Ikwerre and upland neighbours Simi is from far away Opobo, if violence escalates, as usual, na we the Okrikas go spearhead for Ijaw and bear the brunt due to our proximity to the other tribes and our presence in PH. Simi should play by the rules of the game he signed up for and don't bring tribe into this. Rivers has not seen full tribal war since 1994. Ask those around then what happened over Ken Saro Wiwa issue. We had Okrika-Ogoni war, Okrika-Eleme war and Andoni-Opobo war. These guys will just start tribal war over politics. Okrika and Ikwerre have been avoiding going to war with each other despite several skirmishes over the years, we will not start now because Opobo gangster fell out with his Ikwerre godfather. |
PH violence is sporadic. When violence is breaking out, you will know. Most of the violence is political rather than economic so when politics is hot, you just avoid certain areas. That's where the inhabitants sense of peace comes from Rivers State in general (outside PH) is not safe and quite unpredictable. The violence there is economically driven especially toward Ahoada, Omoku, Ndoni side on the road to Bayelsa. There was a time between 2015 and 2017 that that East-West road saw one or more kidnappings/killing of road users every night without fail until Don Wanni boys were chased out. There will still be violence and crime there no doubt as there is a power vacuum but not as before. For the record, most Ijaw towns controlled by warlords are safe except during election time. Ateke keeps Okrika safe and Asari keeps Kalabari safe. But during elections, anything goes. If you know the seasons you'd be fine. Where there is violence is those towns with power vacuum, where you don't have a warlord under amnesty program such as the towns I mentioned above (Ahoada, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Omoku) and sometimes part of Etche, Eleme, and Ogoni. But Ateke has ability to bring Ogoni under heel when it gets too hot as he has many boys there and his mother is from there. Abonnema itself is relatively safe (compared to militancy days) except at election time due to Asari presence. Abonnema Wharf like Nembe Waterside is in Town/Borokiri and separate from the real Abonnema and Nembe which are in Kalabari (Sombrero river) and Nembe Kingdoms respectively. |
BlueRayDick:Accountant pass accountant. Tinubu too na accountant |
WhoDeyHause:Marshall Harry. Rumour has it Odili did not sanction the killing and was shocked when he found out his boys did it. |
BlueRayDick:Accountants are always good cooks Let's be watching |
monerozi5590:Wike was never commissioner, he was LGA Chairman of Obio Akpor the most populous LGA. He was always the power behind the throne because Obio Akpor delivers votes en masse to tip any election |
GloriousGbola:Wike couldn't even wait for Scholz to leave before unleashing mayhem. SMH. The gas Scholz came for is in that same Rivers State. I wonder what German intelligence is writing about the situation. This is how our leaders sabotage Naija |
BlueRayDick:Na Sim burn the house down. He is showing his balls |
No be today, who remembers the case of Chidi Lloyd breaking Hon Chinda head with the Speakers Mace during the Amaechi and Wike tussles The false traitor/ will be punished with forced labour/ by this great orator/ Even 'puffy' knows. . . .that I’ll break his head with 'Mace'. . . like Rivers State Lawmakers!/ |
BlueRayDick:He may just be orubebeing. It all depends on Ateke as to what level the violence can escalate to |
BlueRayDick:You can't go against majority tribe being a minority. Either Sim is a complete fool or Wikes demands are too obnoxious and overbearing. They should leave us out of it. We (riverine/upland) have nothing to do with the beef between two gangsters. I don't know to what extent our strong men will back Simi, but if they do, it will turn bloody real quick. |
nihilistjnr:The arrangement doesn't have to be with Francis. Just arrange with the judges and stay away from his haymakers and get the decision. Even Francis will know that's what's gone on, but thankful for the opportunity. That's why Mike Tyson was laughing and saying it's not a robbery, he knows the game |
Jodera:Wetin Jesus done do? That guy flatters to deceive, no be top 9 |
