Even as of 2 weeks ago, he called me and my wife asking for our shoe sizes and our childrens shoe sizes, e be like say he done see better hookup for shoes. IMF does not do GDP calculations. Individual countries bear responsibility for their GDP calculations and IMF will accept whatever they calculate. If they want to manipulate their own economic data, they are only harming themselves

Nigerias GDP as published in 2014 was $570bln. 2 months ago, Tinubu Govt changed methodology for their 2024 calculation using a rebase of 2019 as base year. That has now been backtested to give your manipulated 2014 number. A 2019 base cannot be used to calculate a 2014 GDP that has already happened before 2019, it's only a restatement for continuity purposes. All economists know the 2014 number of $570bln and World Bank and OECD are using that number.

I never said anybody lied, I said it's wrong or manipulated and we have now established the manipulation is a result of Tinubus rebase 2 months ago, simple.

I see what's going on. Tinubu Govt rebased GDP 2 months ago in order to make their 2024 GDP look brighter, and the new rebased methodology has been backtested to all prior years which is giving the fake $811 bln number.

So what you have is a GDP for 2014 of $270bln that was rebased in 2015 by Goodluck to $570bln and restated last month using Tinubu new methodology to $811bln. All rubbish
