This new South African CAF President has killed the fun of African football. AFCON to be replaced with this rubbish below. Who is in Southern Africa apart from SA and maybe Zambia. Also who is in East Africa

So Senegal, Nigeria, Mali, Cameroun, Ghana, CIV will be killing themselves while South Africa is chilling


Format of the African Nations League.

✅ Teams will be divided into four geographical zones: North Africa, East Africa, West Africa, and Central & Southern Africa.

✅ Each zone will have its own group-stage matches, with teams facing each other in September and October.

✅ The top team from each zone will qualify for the final phase in November.

✅ The final phase will see the four regional winners compete to determine the champion of the African Nations League.

Nigeria has reached 16 semifinals

By law of probability, assuming all semifinalists are equal, we should have reached 8 finals which we have, thus we win our semis 50% of the time.

Where we are underperforming is in finals where we have reached 8 and only won 3 instead of 4 if we performed to averages. You can blame Cameroon for most of our defeats, especially Roger Milla.

We have only won finals as host and against Zambia and Burkinafaso lending credence to the chokers tag

We have lost finals to Cameroon (3x), Algeria (1x) and Ivory Coast (1x)

Ndidi can play at next year’s AFCON, but that should be his last tournament for the Super Eagles. Then, if we qualify for the 2030 WC, the dude in the Czech league, Nnadi, Iwobi, Carney Chukwuemeka (if FIFA approves his switch) could form the nucleus of our midfield at that tournament.

As for Onyedika, from what I’ve seen, he can only thrive in matches where our opponents are either parking the bus or playing counter-attacking football. He cannot thrive in a game where the opponents press high up the pitch and/or engage in mid-pressing.

Unfortunately Onyedika fans through selective video edits made me believe he can survive a furious press but I concur with your assessment. Also agree on Ndidi having one more year

This game should have shown everyone that Chelsea is going nowhere with Enzo Fernandez in midfield. He is the biggest problem in Chelsea and a cancer to the club. You always focus on your big problems first. Any other talk is sweeping the floor while the roof is burning.

Chelsea level can improve 1000% just by simply pushing Caicedo into CM and getting a solid DM to sit behind him. We will go up levels.

Similar to what has happened in Arsenal with Rice. You don't waste the energy of players like Caicedo and Rice on the positional play of DM. You use them to reject any space further up the pitch and drive the opposition back. The runner in the team should never be the sitting DM.
