Roland17: Airmark and Dayo own don dey trend towards generational fight. Both of them go nominate a capable offspring to continue from where them stop.
Their own rivalry is now tongue in cheek, na play play things.
benalvino3: When abacaha was, teachers, pensioners etc were all getting their salaries in due time.
About GEJ, dollar was $150 a barrel was around $100 and even after Obama lead the idea to overflow the market to deal with Russia after their annexation of Crimea, naira was still floating at $120 to $150. In 2015 buhari got in and in less than a month the naira took a hit. Every since it has been bad but some how you are still managing to pin it to GEJ.
Abacha kept the thieves at bay. I will continue to say this. The thieves has shared gun like they are giving out vaccine shots.
I'm sure you realise the Naira is propped up by the oil price, earning foreign exchange to defend the Naira. Sanusi spent trillions defending the Naira i.e. literally spending billions of dollars to buy the Naira to prop the price up. That was always going to end when oil price dropped.
GEJ had more earnings in one tenure than the previous 20 years put together and wasted it, even burning through (along with Yaradua) almost all of the $37bln excess crude account that OBJ had saved up. Buhari would have done well infrastructure wise during the oil glut of the GEJ era. Funny you mention Abacha - Buhari was the director of the PTF that built most of the infrastructure in Abacha time, including all our desks, buildings, school buses etc in Federal Govt schools. PTF also completed 144,000 km of road. Buhari is also the Petroleum minister that built all our refineries.
When money is there, Buhari is good as an administrator of projects without swallowing the money like GEJ did. He had badluck entering when oil market collapsed. Of course in other aspects of Government, from his socialist economic policies to free speech and inclusivity, he is rubbish, but when it comes to executing infrastructure projects, Buhari is the best of a bad bunch.
Tdotbluejays: Since division is almost impossible, then it would be better that Nigeria restructure itself. It should be done in a way that more powers should be devolved to the states instead of the power being focused at the centre. The centre is just too powerful with a strong grip and controlling nearly all the resources of the country.
I think if England, France and Germany are one country, there won't be peace for long and prosperity would also be slow. If these 3 can't unite, I don't see why Nigeria's regions should be forced together as one.
This may work back then until I realised local politicians are worse than the ones at the centre. Only Yorubaland can say different. Imagine thugs like Fayose, Ibori or Yahaya Bello controlling your world. Come to Rivers State where 95% of the house are ex-cultists. Federal Government are the only Govt that still pay salaries and pensions timely. Osun, Kogi and Imo states will be owing close to or over 24 months.
Govt is about people. The quality of people on a regional and local level has gone to the pits. While Awo or Akintiola may be better than Centrist Govt then, I assure you the local guys are ten times more delinquent than Federal guys now.
Tdotbluejays: Hmm. I am not sure. Obafemi Awolowo University was built off cocoa wealth. Same as Cocoa house and many other industries in the SW.
Lagos was separate from the western region and developed independently. I can't say much for other regions, but the west was doing fine.
Hundreds of universities have been built since.
I'm sure back then, to go to university, you will be seen as King in your village, whereas now half the village is going to University.
Naija was sweet according to the few city dwellers and educated elite back then. Most Nigerians were still dealing with mud huts, no roads and bush toilets then. What has degenerated though is security and lack of contentment
Tdotbluejays: Nigeria worked when there was regionalism. Each region was moving at a fast pace except maybe the North.
Not necessarily. There is only the illusion it worked because the whole countries wealth was spent on very few people in the cities while most Nigerians who lived in the villages and countrysides were completely abandoned without primary healthcare, schools or infrastructure. As more people moved to the cities to partake in the largesse, suddenly the wealth wasn't enough to go around.
Our prime minister back then said our problem is not having money but how to spend it.
Branzy: Which Nigeria kids are you talking about people that play football from 4 hrs straight. People that run after trucks. Those that go to farm steady. this your ajebutter story is subjective
At what intensity? Nigerian kids are healthy but they don't push cardiovascular limits in all these exercises. I didn't grow up in Ajebutter neighbourhood and also played football and table tennis all day but I don't remember anyone gasing out while doing those. Na Pam Pam monkey post things. When those same kids race round the block two times, you will see them panting for air. I still remember 1,500 metres training for Interhouse sports, one time about 30-40 kids started and only 15 finished.
DissTroy: Nobody is asking for your life story here, Yokozuna. Here we deal in facts and facts alone. DarkRèbel also told us his mum is Ukrainian too for years and everyone believed him before he was bursted (the evidence abounds on Nairaland).
Here are the facts about you: 1. You are an evil confusionist who supports the bombing, destruction and killings in the Niger Delta, and destruction in Lagos.
2. Even in 2013, you sound like the average Port Harcourt wannabee rapper who's just downed illicit gin.
These are the issues and these define who you are. You have visited my Facebook account and all social media accounts. You've have seen what I do for a living (even though I don't post about my itinerary and barely post at all).
You are the one making claims you can't back up. Fat-faced arsonist!
OK, still waiting for you to prove I was born in Umudike. Don't deviate. Show us your detective skills. Rather what you showed is the oppression eating you up.
Goodvibes007: you could have been the next Nas, Skepta or JCole. Raising a family took the front burner I guess lol.
This just a past-time for me. That song was recorded in my brothers bedroom. I was rapping since 13 or 14. I've always had education or career going, I'm not looking for where to eat.
Here's another one in pidgin I did in 2010 - bedroom studio things. That's on my personal YouTube page - detectives should feel free to dig from there.
DissTroy: "I was not born in Umudike." "I am not an economic migrant." But you sound like the everyday up-and-coming Port Harcourt rapper whose rap song sounds like something from the Eedris Abulkareem days of baggy-sagging wannabes with poor quality music videos.
I've told you folks not to lie needlessly or be hypocritical when I am around. Insult or be troublesome if you like and I might overlook it but if you lie hypocritically, I'd come for you.

Fake detective strikes again.
I said I was not born in Nigeria in response to Zendi, I didn't say I haven't lived in Nigeria. Not that I care either way.
Only poverty oppressed people will see someone saying they were not born in Nigeria as a brag.
Let me help you with more details. Go and pull up a song to prove it wrong. My dad schooled in UK from A Levels to Masters on scholarship and I was born in Sheffield to be precise to an English mum and a Nigerian dad. This is not a brag. It's who I am - a lighthearted response to Zendi without going into much detail until an obsessed stalker now wants detail, which is free and easy to me but oppressive to him. Let me even help you further. My grandmother predated my dad in England and was here in the 60s working for the High Commission while my dad stayed with her brother till he later won a scholarship.
Poverty cursed generations who have not ventured more than 20 miles from their village will be foaming at the mouth
BlueMann: True. I still dey surprise anytime I think am
The guy was already into sports tho, I think he had regular boxing sessions when not in the four walls of the classroom.
You go surprise, most Nigerian kids fitness is quite low. I had to force my neighbourhood guys to start doing long distance running cos I could never win in the sprints they always do, and most of them couldn't last much distance. From that when I went to interhouse sports in school, I realised that most of the guys couldn't last 800m or 1,500m so I focussed on that in interhouse sports and took those medals for my house.
BlueMann: Your physique description just reminded me of a Secondary school classmate...short and muscular.
Wasn't the fastest over 100m or 200m, but was usually amongst the medalist and he always dominated from 400m above. They ran 1500m one time, this guy ran round the track twice and halfway through the third lap, he shouted "HUSTLE!" and immediately boosted his pace by like 40%. Really conserved energy well. And his pace prior to that was decent enough to keep him comfortably in the lead. When he finished, most of the others hadn't finished the third lap
Na him be say your school guys no get stamina cos na slender guys suppose dey win 400 and above. Those big muscles are too demanding of oxygen which is not good over a longer distance
benalvino3: Pfizer and Moderna ramp up #COVID19 vaccine prices in the European Union as demand increases for expected "booster shots," generating billions of dollars more for the groups
They made half ass vaccine for the dollars. These idiots don't want covid to go away it seems. What is booster shot? How long have they been developing the patch?
Typical conspiracy theorist mind, just like basilico claiming the pandemic is a ruse for China to make millions from facemask production.
A simple understanding of Coronaviruses will tell you that immunity is not long lasting. That's why you can catch flu twice a year and why you have yearly flu vaccine. Therefore as I've always told you, the vaccine will have to be taken periodically (yearly at worst, 6 months ideally). At the start of the pandemic, my workplace was doing both Covid and antibody test. One of my colleague who had Covid had no antibodies after just 3 months.
benalvino3: that thing insults and doxx me too because I don't support it. you and I are saying the same thing. some of us were very patient with the aggressors till we started getting on their nerves that's the point. the people i am mostly addressing are the ones who was quiet when all was going on till the other side started fighting back and they come to say the side who just started fighting back has crossed the line.
Dapcity is not the same person as Kokobilo. Dapcity is way more intelligent and can speak English. Kokobilo is an American wannabe who tries to speak Yankee before learning English
zendi: Chief Koon Ibime, Chief Kultist ShameofL...... Who is Umudike that you two always talk about? Or where is it?
A dystopia where the Deputy Police Chief takes money from fraudsters to intimidate people. . . .and where all Custom Officers are corrupt pieces of shït.
ZooOga: [b] 4) Mellissa Carone — Rudy Giuliani’s star witness in his election fraud lawsuit last December. She is currently running for office in Michigan.
So this dümb alcoholic and mentally unstable bitch is now one of the guiding lights of the party if QAnon. Wonders shall never end
raumdeuter: ACB served as a trustee for a school that discriminated based on sexual orientation, such discrimination cases can go to the Supreme court and ACB can be a defendant on the policies of the body she acted as trustee for. Yes or No?
This wont still make her or people who fundamentally disagree with Gays and have acted in the past against Gays be barred from deciding such cases
The school policies are still within the ambit of the law, while Jim Jordan is a potential criminal.
raumdeuter: ACB was a trustee of a school with openly anti Gay policies and she still decides on similar policies from similar bodies like the one she was a trustee on
ACB has not committed a crime. Jim Jordan potentially has.
