Once you are discussing Jogginghoe passing stats neck and neck with Hojbjerg, just know you are losing.

Any fool knows a pacy combat DM with good passing is better than an escort whose only selling point is passing

Give me a DM with just 70% of Jogginghoes passing volume but good energy and recovery pace, and I will send Jogginghoe to Enyimba.

As it stands now, Hojbjerg is even matching him neck and neck in passing. That means with Hojbjerg, I can play passing game, and I can place my team on the halfway line to attack the opposition. With Jogginghoe, I can only place my team in a low block because if I push too far, he does not have recovery pace not to expose my defenders.

As I have always said on this forum, I look for DMs that can run AND pass. I don't look for those that can do one but not the other. Same reason I hate Jogginghoe and Mikel is same reason I hated Bakayoko and Ramires. They are sorely lacking in one of the two elements. Some can run but can't pass. Some can pass but can't run. . . but Hojberg is the full package.

Hojberg passes into the final third = 2,191/2,693 = 81%

Jogginghoe passes into the final third = 1,346/1,725 = 78%

That should tell you who is more adventurous, who is playing on the halfway line, and who sits in a deeper block, afraid to engage one-on-one and get dribbled, and passing the ball back to his defenders.

Why won't Jogginghoe have high pass completion rate when all his passes are to defenders and sideways.

In the Italy match, Chielini had pass completion rate of 95% while Bonucci had 85% yet Bonucci was the one making great passes over the top. Only an eediot will claim Chielini passed better because his passes are back to goalkeeper.

Popizaino even disgraced Jogginghoe during the match, claiming Bonucci is the one making all the penetrative passes.

Same reason Verratti had lower percentage.

You make plenty interceptions when bus is parked and therefore opposition is constantly running into bodies and being intercepted.

He made 7 of those interceptions against Spain. The deeper the bus, the higher the interceptions.

Attackers are not necessarily the best penalty takers. Sterling does not have good physiology for penalties. K leg players like Sterling find it hard to lift the ball off the ground. That's why Sterling is also not good at crossing. These players tend to play penalties low which increases the keepers chances.

Grealish own is mental block or maybe a superstition just like his small shinpads superstition. He refuses to take them for Villa even last season when Watkins was failing at penalties, they went to El Ghazi.

I was surprised Henderson was taken off as he is Liverpool's third penalty taker if Salah and Milner are not around and he has a good penalty record, and is a senior player and a captain for his club.

Other players with good physiology to place penalties high would have been Luke Shaw and Kalvin Phillips. They have good accuracy with lifting the ball thanks to their bow leg and are also older.

I think Southgate practiced with the 5 players that took the penalty otherwise there is no reason to bring off Henderson. If you ask Saka well, he has probably put his hand up in training and been drilled in how Donnaruma dives. Sometimes na overconfidence dey worry these young boys, dem go out hand for lion mouth. Sancho and Saka have no business taking those penalties, it doesn't matter if they are attackers.
