I haven't read about what he was accused of in detail, this may not be proof that he raped anybody....but it sheds a light on his mindset and whilst not necessarily concrete enough to be used in a court of law, it's very TELLING |

You could have 9/10 ‘aggressive’ rapes (this is the main type that apologists prefer), and the focal point of the conversation would still manage to be hijacked/steered towards the scenario that is ‘ambiguous’ and implies false accusation. Something very disingenuous about it tut tut tut |

ibkayee: Police system in Nigeria is generally known to be unserious and corrupt, also on top of general attitude, take into account how the lack of resources, level of expertise and likely outcome of an investigation would impact whether they bother to take it seriously or not. So I won't use their system as a representation of how people would handle it, too many other factors
If you were to compare the reactions of the average Nigerian to a victim of confisacted land and rape, do you think their immediate feeling and the way they respond would have the same level of sensitivity and empathy for both victims?
Would the response be geared more towards trying to find out how the victim may have caused it vs consoling them?
Is there a trend of victims of confiscated lands, robberies etc being blamed for their actions and being stigmatized for being targeted? Are victims of confiscated lands often scared to report the crime that has been against them because it may make them look bad? @bukatyne Any response to this? I'm wondering how you don't see how rape is trivialized or a linked-to gender relations in Nigeria |

I don’t know to be honest, I think this is individual dependent. Some may, some may not
But what I do know is there’s a chance that both people will get bored at some point, but at the end of the day, unless the marriage was forced, you know what you’ve committed to and should make the effort to work through it.
As for keeping him from cheating, you could do everything right and still get cheated on. And whilst keeping yourself attractive, fit, being good and/or experimental in bed etc has probably helped a lot of people, it isn’t even necessarily always a guarantee that it won’t happen or that the probability of it happening will minimise. Plenty of people have not only also cheated on their ‘perfect’ partners, but cheated on them with people who were ‘technically’ less, attractive, ‘freaky’ in bed etc.
I guess take care of what you can control on your end and hope for the best. |

If the people went to report a case of confiscated land, the police would still behave same way. Hathor5: It's a habit really. Once you get used to it, it will become very easy. You will even do the shopping some certain way. And when you notice how good it makes you feel, fit and strong and less fatigued, you will never retreat from this 'life-style'. However, I have my cheat days too, once a week but not more than two. When I make jollof rice, I eat more than I should, same with egusi, I also love pizza and cakes and these things are food for the soul. This exactly, I want it to become a lifestyle rather than a 'diet' |

Hathor5: Carbs are very important for a healthy body and brain and give us energy but they should be enjoyed in moderation. I try to divide my plates into 2/4 vegetables, 1/4 carbs and 1/4 proteins. I've been trying to a incorporate a more balanced diet, it's not easy but it's necessary |

Crime › Re: Nigerians Commence #StopRapingWomen Protest Against Sexual Assaults by ibkayee(f): 6:00pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
bukatyne: Is the problem the fact that our culture trivializes rape?
I don't think so.
It is the fact we have no moral compass.
It is not like other crimes are taken seriously. I think it trivializes rape, comedians joke about it feely, it's often downplayed, victims are begged to forgive by family members as if it's nothing, I could go on... I think it's deeper than just not having any moral compass, crimes are generally not taken seriously but you won't see victims of these crimes be dismissed or get demonised by the general consensus the way sexual assault victims do |
