please I need you guys to look into this matter am facing with God now.

sad

it is obvious that you were doing those things not because you loved God, but because you wanted something from him. A while back, when I had issues in my JAMB and all hope was lost, I knew I could fall back on Him.
I told God that whether I failed or not, I still love Him, and I kept being faithful in church (as if nothing happened). I went to church 8 times in a week, did not withdraw from the Music Unit where I served, and just left the failure and focused on Him.
Lo and behold, when the result came, I scored 288.
Just stop doing the sweeping work and reading the Bible if the deep-seated reason why you are doing those acts of "service" is to ultimately gain admission. If you are true to yourself, you know once God gives you admission, you will stop doing those things for Him.
Secondly, one thing I see in many Christians is neglecting their own part of the bargain (in this case, studying your books). The Bible said we should study to show ourselves approved. I am almost certain that you relaxed and reduced, if not stopped reading when the pastor said you would gain admission this year.
Thirdly, I see elements of doubt in your statements, you have not seen the cut off for this year, and you are already writing yourself off. A close person to be scored 180 and applied for Civil Engineering in a Federal University, and she still gained admission for the course. There are so many things I have seen wrong in your mindset also, which is testament to your level in the faith and the church you attend, cos it seems they have been feeding you with milk, or lies and superstitions that are not founded in the word of God, but I digress.
Lastly, that pastor of yours, from all indications, you depend on him more than you depend on God. I am not saying he is fake, but take a step back and focus on your relationship with God, and pray for guidance as to what pastor or church to attend, there are so many merchants in pastors' skin, who depend on wits to keep relevance.
To summarise this my long epistle, Pray to God, and even if you don't gain admission this year (which I believe you will), try again next year, and see if you can also change your institution and course of choice. Tag me when you gain admission.

To be very honest, you sincerely do not know who is a child of God. These ones you mentioned are not led by the Holy Spirit they are not the raised sons of God Almighty. They are led by their senses. And the flesh and blood can not enter into the kingdom of power and glory

They will die like mere beasts
guess you didn't read my first post or didn't do so objectively. Here: read it and understand my point of view. I am not talking about sinners doing stuff, I am talking about born-again Christians, led by the spirit of God doing what is required to achieve results.

OP, you should know that being given all power in heaven and on earth does not mean that a child of God will exhibit such immediately he is born again.
Access and manifestation are two different things. I can give a child an ATM card with more money than Dangote, but it is it's understanding that such a child or baby, as the case may be (with the help of an adult: the Holy Spirit) that such a child will have access to the funds in such an account.
The level of alignment and understanding that brings "signs and wonders" from theoretical exegesis, even though Christ has paid for it, is not achieved overnight.
Alignment as used here is obeying the Bible, The Spirit of God, understand the action required to bring a result, and doing so.

What you see with your naked eyes is what you are trying to explain. Can you close your eyes and look beyond your weak abilities.

The beginning of the gospel is resurrection. To raise one from the dead is not a child's play. That's a mighty power
I am not disputing the power of God, what the thread is all about is that people who claim to be God's children but lack power to "trample upon snakes and scorpions" may not be Christ's after all.
It is absolutely possible to be in Christ but not access the kind of life (Zoe) that is present in Him.
For instance, being a tight-fisted Christian that doesn't give to God or man, even though he is a Child-of-God will not experience financial emancipation. it's that simple.
Also, a child of God that is sick and keeps shooting in the dark by praying against enemies without invoking the power of the Blood and the stripes that Jesus suffered, may remain in such sickness (for by His stripes, we are healed).
The list goes on and on, understanding is key to accessing and manifesting the life present in God.
There is however a mystery that remedies for human imperfections, ignorance and misunderstanding, that allows God to intervene, even when we are in error due to lack of understanding or refusal to walk in the light of such understanding. This is the mystery of mercy.

All things are POSSIBLE. Not necessarily achievable at the point in time. Thinking that belief is all that is required to "move mountains" is a fallacy.
FYI, faith and belief are two different things.
I could start a 2 hour lecture on this, but I may not be able to type that long, lol.
I wish this thread was a face-to-face discussion.
Every POSSIBILITY hidden in Christ always requires understanding and action based on such understanding on the part of the Christian. This is not gotten overnight

I don't understand this perspective of yours. God has no problem (as shown in the Bible) with sexual positions IN MARRIAGE, it is the prerogative of the couple how they want to carry out their pareunial activities, as long as:
1. It doesn't cause another believer to stumble (1 Corinthians 6:2)
2. It doesn't involve vile language (Ephesians 4:19, Colosians 3:8-10).

You have still not provided a single shred of biblical proof to ascertain your stance.
One thing I find curious however is how the so called Christians found out different sexual positions? I hope it was from text books and not from pornography.

this is what happens when a "pastor" enters into ministry out of zeal or love for money and attention. The people indeed perish for lack of knowledge.
A little research would have shown him that "Holy Ghost" is an archaic form of "Holy Spirit".
The word ghost in times when the Bible was translated didn't mean a dead person, but the immaterial essence or "spirit" of that person as it is translated in recent versions

The tackle, even though it was clean, was silly on the part of Vidal, there were Bayern players right in front who could have intercepted the ball.
The ref was at an angle that the tackle looks like it was an infringement, and Vidal, knowing that he already had a yellow card should have known better than to make such an all out sliding tackle, even if he did so cleanly

Religion / Re: Is it right to pray "Holy Ghost, Fire!" Against Enemies? by ibolomo(m): 11:06pm On Apr 16, 2017
HOly Ghost fire in itself is not unbiblical, as it's manifestation is seen at the Upper room at Pentecost. What is wrong however, is the motive and reason for calling on such fire by some Christians to "roast their enemies".
The only work I see in the Bible that "Holy Ghost Fire", described as "cloven tongues of fire" does is that it brings the power of God on a believing heart. I have never seen where destruction of enemies in the Bible was done by "Holy Ghost Fire". The only biblical references about a destructive fire were "fire from the Lord" which was called down by prophet Elijah on three occasions.
The Bible says we should love our enemies, and so, we don't try to kill them by calling fire or whatever means.
You can ask God to send fire (if you really need it, lol), but naming it Holy Ghost Fire is inaccurate.
Bottom line is, destructive fire CAN come from God, but not by the Agency of the Holy Spirit (Elijah) . However, constructive figurative fire can come upon men, but it does not destroy.

Shikenah.

This was what I typed. I guess you didn't go through my other post.

Proverbs 31:1-7.
I once held the belief that alcohol isn't a sin, and by the way, I never said it was. What I said in my original post is that is it not good.
when I read that alcohol is meant for those that are ready to perish, na so my hand fall.
If a new believer sees brother Titus who preached and led him to Christ in a beer parlour (sipping gently so as not to be drunk) or mall buying Heineken, what do you think the believer will think or do, when the new believer himself was once a drunkard?
The Bible says all things are lawful, but not all things are expedient, and that if eating meat will make a fellow brother stumble, you should refrain from doing such.
Besides, what difference will there be between brother Titus in a beer parlour, and Baba Kamaru, the chronic womaniser and town drunk? I guess he will pray over and bless the beer before drinking?
And by the way, how do you define "much wine", "drunkenness", being "drunk with wine", "perverting justice under the influence of wine"? What exact quantity counts as getting drunk? Research has shown that as little as half a cup or 12 ounces of beer can get a person drunk. Please tell me how the Christian will "guage" the amount of alcohol intake to that would be required to make him/her drunk, when one of the characteristics of being drunk is thinking you are not as drunk as you really are?
finally, please give me a few instances in the Bible where alcohol paid off and advantages of taking alcohol (knowing that your body already produces enough alcohol that it needs).
Some say that Timothy was told by Paul to drink alcohol for his ailment, I ask those what ailment they are trying to ease, and what happened to modern medicines like aspirine in easing such pain.

All in all, I don't think that taking alcohol IN itself is a sin, but that by taking it, you cannot but commit sin. Happy Easter

No Sir, that was not Solomon's mother. It was written to a certain King Lemuel, nevertheless, Solomon used same as inspired by God.

Keep in mind that what may be good for you may be very good for me. Looking at that in the light of Romans 14, you are not allowed to judge me in what i eat or drink.

Quote scripture and i will present it in context.

Now, you are beginning to come around the crux of what the bible teaches which is LOVE! Even though your description is still a bit self oriented and all about your image as a christian, i will explain it here (Pay attention because this was my first teaching when i got born-again and no, it wasn't in any church or taught by any MoG)

1 Corinthians 8:7 (NASB)
However not all men have this knowledge; but some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1 Corinthians 8:8 (NASB)
But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat.
1 Corinthians 8:9 (NASB)
But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
1 Corinthians 8:10 (NASB)
For if someone sees you, who have knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be strengthened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
1 Corinthians 8:11 (NASB)
For through your knowledge he who is weak is ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died.
1 Corinthians 8:12 (NASB)
And so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ.
1 Corinthians 8:13 (NASB)
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.

If you read through that verse at relate it to alcohol you will understand that with God, alcohol is not a matter of sin or not but about not using your liberty or self control with alcohol to cause a younger christian to stumble. Ever wondered why Paul advised Deacons and Bishops against much wine in 1 Timothy and Titus?

Ok, since every word of truth is established by 2 or more witness, here goes the second scripture buttressing my point.

Romans 14:2 (NASB)
One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.
Romans 14:3 (NASB)
The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.
Romans 14:6 (NASB)
He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.
Romans 14:13 (NASB)
Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way.
Romans 14:14 (NASB)
I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Romans 14:15 (NASB)
For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.
Romans 14:16 (NASB)
Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil.

Do you also see that this scripture is talking about love for your brother and not whether you think alcohol is a sin or about your image as a christian? This is what Christ came for, LOVE! Trying to but a tag on alcohol is doing exactly what the pharisees did - to make themselves look holy and righteous.

I believe a little use of 'google' to understand what Wine is made of will do you good. BTW, research has also show that people can get drunk from Coca Cola - help yourself with google if in doubts.
I don't understand what you mean by "gauging the amount of alcohol intake to prevent getting drunk" - how do you gauge the amount of food you require to get full? Why is self-control one of the basis of christian living?

Help yourself with google for the advantages - that is not the focus of my discussion! I wonder who made Palm-wine and what it was made for, perhaps, flushing our toilets grin

Very wrong approach to get anyone changed - you should be walking your talk in love.

By eating you can commit the sin. By talking you can also commit sin. I can give more example but i believe you get the message...Happy Easter Brother!
The love for a fellow Christian is the main reason why one should not drink alcohol.
and by the way, King Lemuel spoken of in Proverbs 31 is Solomon, many theological scholars agree on that fact. And the part were the BIble said to give wine to him who is ready to perish is in verse 7 (I think) of the same Proverbs 31.
It was nice having an intellectual conversation with an intelligent person on this platform, it's been a while.
Happy Easter

Simply show me verses in the scripture based on your revelations from the Holy Spirit and why 'alcohol' is bad - i don't believe that is too much to ask. For the records, i am not trying to advocate for alcoholism but trying to correct the typical Naija views on christianity.
