NYSC / What Did You Do With Your NYSC kit After POP? by ibromanner(m): 12:34am On Oct 14, 2013
Hello ex-corpers & corpers, I congratulate everyone who has gone through the NYSC scheme and served this country or is still serving this country

I've heard and seen corpers doing crazy things with their khakis after the Passing-Out Parade.

Some tore it, some dumped it in the bin, some gave it away, some burnt it etc. I was planning to dispose of mine but a fellow Batch A colleague requested for it, so I 'll be keeping it for him

If you're an ex-corper, what did you do with your kit after the POP? If you're still serving, what do you intend to do with your kit after passing out. This is a thread for all, lets share. . .

NYSC / 2012 Batch C Corpers, After The Last Alert, What Next? by ibromanner(m): 6:20pm On Oct 02, 2013
Fellow Batch C 2012, I hail Ooº°˚ ˚°ºoo..
How has been your service year?
My guy serving in Kaduna ping me this afternoon that he has received his last alert. Though receiving alerts from your bank (credit, №† HBD or advert) are always accompanied with joy but then, this marks the end of 'Allawee'. I was like, so no more alert?
Now I feel like asking the rest of my colleagues, after the federal allowee alert, WHAT NEXT?

Politics / Suggest Possible Independence Shocker That Could Be Declared By GEJ by ibromanner(m): 7:48pm On Sep 30, 2013
Hi NLs,
National public holidays like independence days, Democracy days, and New year days are known with their respective shockers.
For instance, Fuel subsidy removal was announced on one of these days. Change of name of UNILAG †̥☺ MAULAG was announced on one of these days(though, №† sure if it's implemented by their authority).
So, let's suggest what the independence shocker could be, as Mr president address the nation tomorrow 1st of October, on the occasion of Nigeria's 53rd independence.
Happy celebration.

Dressmaker: Hie, I just purchased the scratch cards and I think I am almost done with the filling of the application form. I am at the point where I should fill my 3 referees.

My question is, do the 3 referees have to be lecturers? If not, who else can be your referee.

Secondly does anyone have a copy of what the referee form looks like. I will prefer is my referee fill the forms first before I put in their names. This is because I don't want to fill in a name and discove that the lecturer is unavaliable due to the ASUU strike. Please can someone forward the referee form to my email t_may9@hotmail.com

By the way I attempted the English proficiency test and I had 53%. That's really poor. I did poorly in the "synonyms and antonyms" section. Apparently, I usually use very simple English words and less-simple words have become foreign to me. God help me on the d-day.
Sup,
It doesn't work da way. Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ ve †̥☺ supply their names first during Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ online application. Their names wud appear on Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ application form when Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ print it. But it wunt appear on dose forms(referee), ie, the 3 referee forms wud be blank but its going †̥☺ bear Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ datas like name, app no, passport Απϑ all dat. So Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ can't use another persons Fø̲̣̣я̅m †̥☺ sign Fø̲̣̣я̅ ursef. I wud advise dat Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ enquire about d surest officers dat Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ aя̩̥̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ sure, D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ wud be available, den go ahead Απϑ supply their names. At least, one must ve taught Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊ I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ sch, Απϑ d rest must be aquainted with Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ academic record. Like Ɣ☺U̶̲̥̅̊я̲̅ faculty officers, student affairs officers or others I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ dat categry. All d best.

Education / No North-east School Participated In The National Mathematical Competition. by ibromanner(m): 11:10pm On Jul 06, 2013
This is an excerpt from another news,
''Managing Director, Promasidor Nigeria Limited --
makers of Cowbell Milk, Chief Keith Richards,
noted that the intensity, fortitude and integrity of
the competition had been sustained since it
started in 1998. He added that the competition
was free and open to all secondary school pupils
between ages 10 and 18.
Lamenting that education was declining in
Nigeria, especially in the North, due to terrorism,
he regretted that no pupil from the North-East
schools participated in the competition.
Richards said, "In the last couple of years, we have
struggled because of the activities of Boko Haram
and other criminal terrorist organisations that are
against education and by doing that, they are
threatening the hope and the future of Nigeria's
future generations and their children.
"Since the insurgency heightened, the level of
participation in the North has reduced
considerably. The results of this year's
competition further lend credence to the
downward trend of education advancement in
Nigeria"
Education / Why Unilorin Will Not Join ASUU Strike - Chairman by ibromanner(m): 6:25am On Jul 04, 2013
CHAIRMAN, Academic Staff Union of Nigeria
Universities (ASUU), University of Ilorin chapter,
Professor Wahab Egbewole, has said his members
will not join the ongoing nationwide strike, because
the national headquarters of the union did not
extend the directive to the university.
Nigerian Tribune investigations in the university, on
Wednesday, revealed that academic activities were
on, just as students were seen sitting for their
examinations, while lecturers and other staff went
about their normal activities.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, Professor
Egbewole said the congress of the university was
not aversed to a positive working relationship with
the ASUU national headquarters, adding that several
efforts of the chapter towards the development were
rebuffed.
“It’s important to note that before a union will go on
strike, there is the need for consultation. Up till now,
I have not been informed in any way or form of
communication and I sincerely believe that other
universities who are participating in the strike did
not get the directive on the pages of newspapers,”
he said.
The ASUU boss, who said strike was not the solution
to any form of disagreement between unions and
managements, added that “as far as we are
concerned in University of Ilorin, strike is not the
solution to any form of disagreement, and this is not
to say that the Federal Government is not at fault in
the present scenario.
“If the Federal Government voluntarily and willingly
signed an agreement with ASUU in 2004 and up till
about a year ago, the agreement was not
implemented, it’s less than honourable on its part.”
Some students of the institution, who also spoke
with the Nigerian Tribune on conditions of
anonymity, commended their lecturers for not
taking part in the ongoing strike, a development
they claimed had ensured a steady and
uninterrupted academic exercise in the university
for over 10 years.
“It’s obvious through JAMB reports over 10 years
ago that candidates seeking admission to Nigeria
universities prefer University of Ilorin far above other
universities because of the steady academic
exercise and high quality academic standard, as a
result of various awards our students have won in
the year under review,” one of the students said.

“I have a number of friends – including male

I’m not abusive; neither am I a snub. But I don’t
encourage any relationship that will distract me from

“It may sound funny to you, I have never kissed

achieve this because I know that some people will
say it is not easy but with God all things are

Oduyoye advised young girls to abstain from sex,
face their studies and respect people and honour

D sage: These politicians including Fayose don't know that Nigeria of today is quite different from that of 1999-2007. The fact is that,the following politicians will never taste power in Nigeria again;

Ayo Fayose
Dimeji Bankola
Patricia Olubunmi Etteh
Farouq Lawal
Iyabo Obasanjo
Alao Akala
Gbenga Daniel
Fani Kayode etc

Nigeria is no more in a 'state of nature',let them continue trying their luck,I doubt they rule us again.
