Christianity Etc › Tested By Fire! by ichuka(op): 12:19pm On Apr 11, 2013
The fire will test the quality of each person’s work. (1 Corinthians 3:13 NIV)

We are involved in a great system which is a very complicated thing, and a great deal of it is not of the Lord. It is something that man has brought in. Man has put his hand upon the things of the Lord, and man has made things according to his own mind, and therefore a great deal has come in which is of man and not of the Lord. And when we say that, we are not only thinking of Christianity in general, we are thinking of ourselves. This is true of ourselves. We have all come into something called Christianity, and we have all taken on something of Christianity, and there may be a great deal that we have to get rid of, and come back to the simple fundamental reality. And the fundamental reality of all realities is the presence of the Lord. We have got to know that the Lord is with us, and that the Lord is with us in all that we do, that this did not originate in our mind. It did not originate in our will, it did not originate in our emotion. It did not come from our soul, this thing has come from the Lord in every detail, like the tabernacle. Just like Jesus Christ, in every detail it has to come to us from God.

That ought to send us back to our knees – to go through all our work. It may be necessary for us, from time to time, to stand back and ask the Lord about all that we are doing. 'Is this out from God, or is it something out from ourselves? Is this way of doing things the mind of God, or is it our mind? Is the Lord in this, or have we come into it?' You see, that is a great deciding matter. Make no mistake about it! Everything that is only of man is going to perish. Sooner or later it will be shaken. Every man's work shall be tried in the fire, says the Word of God...

ng James Version: Matthew Chapter 10

1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them POWER against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
We need EMPOWERMENT inorder to Evangelise, without been filled/empowered by the Holy Spirit any form of evangelism is a complete waste of time
Though that's my view..

frosbel: No.

It says we are born in sin and are sinners even before we commit the act.

It's like calling a baby a thief because his father is a thief even though the baby is innocent.
Are you disputing the Word of God?
His Word says that by the disobedience of adam that All became Sinners..Romns5:19,why is it so hard for you to grasp.
Don't you know that we are all in the garden of Eden with Adam and that we all agree and ate the fruit with him?
The same way that all that believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, when He died on the Cross we died, resurected and ascended with Him.don't you know?

frosbel: Innocent sinner huh grin

We are more inclined to sin because of our fallen nature , does not mean we are sinners at birth.
Bro,why you dey laugh about the innocent sinner?
Is the innocent child born of the will of a man,and of blood with natural descent?(John1:13)then the child is a sinner even in the womb of the mother.
Christianity Etc › Re: Thirteen Reasons Why The Doctrine Of Original Sin Is False by ichuka(m): 1:23pm On Apr 10, 2013
frosbel: This dangerous doctrine , latches onto the false once saved always saved lie from hell.

Read this :
"And the little ones that you said would be taken captive, your children who do not yet know good from bad--they will enter the land. I will give it to them and they will take possession of it." - Deuteronomy 1:39

^^^^

Children are born innocent not in SIN , it's in the bible.
Lol
Brother,nobi me write d bible.
Romans5:19 says thruogh the disobedience of Adam that ALL(not some but All)became SINNERs.
We are all in Adam in the garden of Eden and we all approve of his disobedience.
If one sins he's a sinner that sin,if another decides not to commit sinful acts,he's merely a moral sinner.an innocent child is a sinner that's innocent.
Its not a matter of what one do or don't do'rather its an issue of source.
Let's say your surname is Obi.you are Obi because your dad and your grandad are Obi.Now if you decide to do good you are Obi that does good,if you decide to become a doctor,a priest, the president or a 419 you are still an Obi.nothing whatsoever can make you otherwise.
Why is that?..because you were born an Obi.since its by birth you became an Obi its only by death that you can be free from being an Obi.
That's the meaning of Romans5:19
Christianity Etc › Re: The Aroma Of Death And Life. by ichuka(op): 12:46pm On Apr 10, 2013
We were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. (2 Corinthians 1:8 ESV)

The Lord Jesus said "I am the true Vine," and it was prophesied of Him that He would tread the winepress alone. The Cross was His winepress. How He was pressed in the Cross! He was crushed and broken, but out of that breaking has come the Life which you and I have, and which so many in all the nations have received. That is true, in a measure, of His Church. It was out of the breaking and crushing of the Church that the Life came to the world. And that is true of every member, every branch of the vine. If we are to fulfill this true, living ministry, it will only be through suffering, through the winepress, through pressure and through breaking. Paul said: "We were pressed out of measure, above strength" (2 Corinthians 1:8 – A.V.) – but what Life has come out of that man's pressure! It is like that. We are not talking about preaching and Bible teaching, but about this great ministry of Christ gi ving His Life through us. It may be passed on to others through preaching, or through teaching, or through living, but if it is His Life it will come out of experiences of suffering. A preacher or a teacher who has never suffered will never minister Life.

Well, this may not seem a very pleasant outlook, but it is true. The best doctors and nurses are those who know something about suffering themselves. Some are just professional, treating you as a case – you are just case number blank. But, ah! there are others who treat you as a person, a human being, who care for you. If you ask why, you may find that they have a background of suffering themselves. They know just a little of what you are going through. We have read in the Letter to the Hebrews: "We have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are... He is able to succor them that are tempted" (Hebrews 4:15, 2:18). He has been the way of the winepress and we have received the benefit...
Christianity Etc › Re: Thirteen Reasons Why The Doctrine Of Original Sin Is False by ichuka(m): 12:32pm On Apr 10, 2013
as by one man's disobedience many were made SINNERs by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous..Romans5:19.
We are all Sinners by birth.
We are Sinners not because we sin,but we sin because we are Sinner.
Why are we Sinners by birth?..its because we are born of natual descent,of the will of a man and of blood..John1:13.
So OP,if your definition of original Sin is term Sinners by birth then the doctrine is very correct.

bolaino: This is really strange, so there are people who actually believe in this heresy? U guys should stop deceiving yourselves, God has standards and he won't compromise his standards for any man/woman, the soul that sinneth shall die he said in his words that he's coming to take his people as white as snow, without spot or wrinkle, God hates sin, so if u think once saved always saved then u're on a long tin, continue to sin, e go shock u on the last day,
My friend, you guys should stop spreading these Gospel of FEAR.
God is not a liar niether is He incompetent.
The Life He gives a new believer is Enternal.though it doesn't guarantee such believer entering His Kingdom.
For instance,a child born in Nigeria is already a Nigerian.no matter what he/she does.but being a Nigerian doesn't neccesary means he/she will become a councilor,LG chairman or a governor, though he/she is qualified as being born a Nigeria to run the race.
Being born a Nigerian is like having Enternal Life and to become a governor is liken to entering/reigning in His Kingdom.

You guys have not answered my question.
How can a true believer, who has been predestined by God to be confirmed in the image of His Son,CALLED by Him,JUSTIFIED by Him,also GLORIFIED by HIM loose his salvation.
Who or what can separate such believer from His love toward him?when Christ had died, risen and sits @God's right hand..Romans8:29-35)
Guys if your God is that incompete, well, mine is ever more than able.

frosbel: God and Man.

Man is a moral being with the ability to make wrong and right choices, hence the tragic fall of our race by one single act of disobedience from Eve and Adam.

While God woos us to himself out of a deep agape love, we can reject that love and choose to go our own way similar to what happened with the prodigal son.

God is able to keep us to the very end If we remain in his love, when we sin we repent immediately and ask for grace and strength which he supplies, to recover and stabilise our walk with him, but we Must be willing and obedient to eat the good of the land.

We cannot be disobedient and expect to be saved.

frosbel: Answer to Question 1 : He can keep you to the very end depending on your will to abide in him. I hope you know we are not Robots.

Answer to Question 2: Eternal life is not now, it is a future thing.

Read this beautiful excerpt from an article culled from a brothers web site, nicely fits into my point of view and I dare say the bible position.
Galatians 2:20
New International Version (NIV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
You asked if we are robot, don't you know that a true Christain is a dead-man walking?
2:you said Eternal life is not now, meaning you are ascertaining that God is now a liar, when He says that anyone that believes has it already.
And please don't confuse Enternal Life with reigning in His Kingdom, they are two different thing altoghter.

Goshen360: ^ Exactly the same I've been saying to folks here - When the read the Genesis to Malachi & Matthew to Revelation, what do they see? If you can't find Christ as the fulfillment of the Law & the prophets, then one is probably read literature. cool Maybe I will join you...by God's Grace to start revealing Christ in the Old Testament. I hope I have the time in His Grace!
Thank bro,
I purpposely ignore the thread opened by frosbel about the Law.
The Law of God is Holy, how can the children of Israel upholds the Laws of God which is Holy?.its immpossble.even sinnless Adam can't up hold jus one moral Law given to Him by God.
So I believe God gave us the Law intentionally for us to break it.by so doing His Son Redemptive work on Calvary will be fully accepted and appreciated.
Any Christain trying to uphold the Law is no longer under Grace, meaning that he/she has rejected or is not satisfied with the works of Christ on the Cross.

So why would God promise and give someone Enternal Life if we believe(3:16),since the Life is not Enternal according to you?
Why would He even lie about it?
But the scriptue says He cannot lie(Numbers23:19)
Is Enternal Life exhaustible?

Christianity Etc › Re: On The Permanence Or Impermanence Of The New Birth (culled From A Conversation) by ichuka(m): 11:29pm On Apr 06, 2013
Romans8:28,And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The above scripture says Nothing whatsoever can separate us(true believers)from the love of God.why?..because we are called according to His purpose(vsre28),predestined to be conformed to His Son's image(vsre29),Justified and ,Glorified(vsre30)

Christianity Etc › Re: The Altar(the Cross) Governs Everything by ichuka(op): 1:02am On Apr 06, 2013
I want to know Christ – yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death. (Philippians 3:10 NIV)

Do recognize that the Cross is the end of the risen life, and not only the beginning. If you forget everything else, remember that. The Cross is the end of the risen life, as well as the beginning: "That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, becoming conformed unto His death.""Why did Paul put death at the end? Surely it ought to be right the other way round – 'That I may be conformed to His death, and know Him in the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings.'" No, there is no mistake. The order is of the Holy Spirit. The power of His resurrection presupposes that there has been a death, but the very resurrection-life leads to the Cross. The Holy Spirit in the power of the risen life is always leading you back to the Cross, to conformity to His death. It is the very property of Life to rul e out all that belongs to death. It is the very power of resurrection to bring us back to the place where death is constantly overcome.

That place is none other than the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ where the natural life is put aside. So Paul says: "...becoming conformed unto His death," which means: to have the ground of death continuously and progressively removed; and that, again, as we have said, is the fruit of living union with Him. It would be a poor look-out for you and for me were we to be conformed to His death in entirety apart from the power of resurrection in us, apart from our already knowing the Life of the Lord. Where would be our hope? What is it that is the power of our survival when the Cross is made more real in our experience? There would be no survival were it not that His risen Life is in us. So Paul prays: "That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection..." and that means conformity to His death without utter destruction. The end of the risen life is the Cross. The Holy Spirit is always working in relation to the Cross, in order that th e power of His resurrection may be increasingly manifested in us...
