bobobooge: I do not totally agreed with you.
Rohr's input in the growth and competition in our national team cannot be overstated.
In time past, coaches like Oliseh called up Ekong but did not play him on grounds that 'He is not black enough to play African teams' Alex Iwobi was called up but not played.
Despite the successes of the U17 and academies Keshi of blessed memory found it hard to cap Iheanacho, Nwakali and the likes but preferred to stick to local and unfit players.
Siasia is not left out.
Rohr so far has shown best practices in selecting the squad and capping new players. He scouted and brought in Idowu when we had full back problems. He brought in Uzoho, Collins etc.
Look at the special attention he gave to Chukwuwze in the game he debuted against Uganda. He recognises talents and useful additions.
It is the Rohr factor that has brought the discipline, growth and competition to our team not the academies. These players have always been there yet the likes of Oliseh preferred Onobi in his midfield over Mikel.
Please do not under emphasize the impact of Rohr in the teams growth.
He never gives up on improving the team. He scouts, he talks to coaches to play is boys, he advises them on transfers. Look how much of our boys moved after the WC.
Rohr has been the massive impact, not the academies. I agree but TheGoodJoe also has a point. I think u are both right. In the sense that there is a Rohr factor and also Successes in our youth teams. Not just the U17 but also the U20s. As at least 70% of that team played the U17, U20 and U23 between 2003 and 2016. |

In other News, our Player of the year award plaques to Musa and Oluehi have been ready for almost a week now.
I have not collected them because I have been out of Town. Once I get them I will snap and post them here before sending to the NFF by courier.
Happy Sunday all. |

charlesemeka85: if i talk them go say i am urging the nff and rohr to go and beg them. our best centre half finds it difficult to get game time in lonely brighton. that should be a cause for us to get worried. the central defense position if the leanest in the current super eagles set up. imagine ekong and balogun gets injured, the only decent centre back we can call on is resurgent omeruo. the likes of ajayi and awaziem can they soak up big game pressure ? Which big game pressure? Are we playing Spain, Brazil or Argentina in the AFCON? Yes, we are not happy Balogun is not getting good enough playing time at BHA. We are also not happy that we are not getting up and coming Defenders to put the current first teamers on their toes. But the fact of the matter is that the crop of CB we have can hold their own against any African opposition considering that the only opponents we will engage in any competitive games for the next 3 years or so are African teams. Even the weakest pairing of Awaziem and Ajayi cannot be as bad as we think they are. IMHO our CB isn't our weakest part of that team. |

New Manager Neil is a typical kick and rush blood and guts English Manager and has dropped him in favour of his type of player. Fred is too technical for him. Hmm...ok I see. So he cannot fit into the kick and rush system? So has his technical abilities been helpful to him at Wycombe Wonderers? |

BascoVanVeli: That has been my point since the beginning. If u take the lunatics out of the equation, how else can u say that a miss is unpardonable? You cannot take the lunatics out of the equation. They are also Football fans. And so they must be in the equation. Godwin Odiye's own goal was not pardoned, Yakubu's miss was not pardoned. Kaita's kick was not pardoned. I can go on and on. Ihezibue, being a young player and that game being a league game, will have several other opportunities to correct that error. But believe you me if that singular miss was responsible for the exit of his country from a major tournament like the WC the fans will definitely be hostile towards him. He may even receive death threats if he played for an African or S/American country. |

Earthquake1: Abi 'past' go play u for Afcon?
Iheanacho is not having a 'rough patch' he has been shambolic for almost a year, it's time to leave by the side and give those on a good form a chance Iheanacho even with his current game level is still more likely to deliver in the GWG than those strikers you are mentioning. I am not saying Iheanacho is indispensable. But the truth is the other options are not any better. |

mostob: Sir, am sorry but I will disagree with you this time around. We have players in each position so no need for utility. moreso ,he is not playing neither is he improving. For now, osimhen is ahead of him This sentence is totally wrong. For tournament like the AFCON u need some utility players. Injury can set in and players can get suspended. U need players that can play more than one position. |

BascoVanVeli: If you destroy someone's property or send them a death threat you are a common criminal and nothing more. So you can't tell me that if a player messes up and is attacked we should accept it. Most these so called fans are those that can't get it right in their own lives.
We can debate about criticism but the rest should not be even given light of day And again. My points remain: we should not condone huliganism. The fact remains that Football is more than just a game for most. However, fans should learn to show restraints when results don't go their way. That's all. |

Earthquake1: Forget the past the issue is Iheanacho's form does not warrant him making the AFCON squad, versatility or not You cannot forget the past especially when that past was not like 3-5 years ago. Iheanacho may be having a rough patch right now. But the truth remains that we do not have that many options elsewhere to throw him out of the team. The Josh Maja u talk about let him start playing in the French league first and let Rohr invite him to camp first and let us see him play in the GWG before we conclude whether we should throw Iheanacho away because of him. |

Taliban: Egbon am not sure the team can currently accommodate Maja and KC. Options in attack are Odion, Musa, Chuks, Kalu, success, onyekuru, kc, maja, simon, comeback vicmo, osimhen U first need to separate the Wingers, AMs and CFs from that your list. And u see the clearer picture. I think Maja would be more up against Osimhen, Success and Onyekuru. Iheanacho is already a core member of that team and his versatility gives him an edge. |

Earthquake1: We have Onuachu, Osimhen strikers who can actually score
There's no use of Iheanacho in the team I see Onuachu like another Sadiq Umar. Their height makes them sluggish as strikers. Osimhen still doesn't look to me like someone who will make any major impact in that attack yet. |
