Earthquake1: We have Onuachu, Osimhen strikers who can actually score
There's no use of Iheanacho in the team Onuachu and Osimhen are not in direct competition with Iheanacho. Iheanacho is a utility Player. He plays as a CF, SS, AM and WF. It is always good to have such a player on your bench. |

BascoVanVeli: Stop condoning bad behavior. These people are criminals. Which law book says that it is ok to send a death threat or burn somebodies house down? These is no such thing as football being more than a game because that is exactly what it is. A real man knows how to handle losses.
The meaning of sports is to be able to fall, get up and try again. If u take that away, u are taking the whole essence of competition. This is the reason why referees are bribed and beat up.
When a player messes up, it affects them the most and for a so called fan to then kick the player while they are down is just inhumane. For example a guy is crying about losing his child at the market, would u then rub salt on it by telling the man that he was careless for losing his child in the first place? I am not condoning any such act. I am only telling u how far some fans can go. To them Football is more than just a game. |

BascoVanVeli: Escober was killed by a gambler and the nonsense should not be condoned. No fan on earth has a right to law a finger on an athlete.
Yes a mistake can end a players career but only if they let it. Why do u think I was so happy with Ighalo when he came back firing. These guys feel the worst because they know it was their mistake that cost their team but it is the job of fans, teammates and coaches to cheer them up and let them know that u win as a team and lose as a team. This is the most important aspect of sports, learning to deal with adversities together. For many of those fans Football is more than just a game. That is the Issue here. Ighalo received death threats for his miss against Argentina and Yobo received same too for the own goal against France. Yakubu was the highest goal scoring African player in England before Drogba over took him. He is still the 3rd highest scoring SE player. He scored very important goals for Nigeria. But just that singular miss ended his national team career. He was not forgiven by not only the fans but also the NFF and the coaches. His club career also nose dived. Pierra Wome of Cameroon missed a penalty that could have sent Cameroon to the 2006 WC. In less than 24 his house was in flames. Godwin Odiye never played for Nigeria again after that own goal he scored during the 1978 WC qualifiers. Best Ogedengbe chased him around the pitch with a broken bottle What finished Sani Kaita? That singular kick against Greece. Just one single mistake can break a players spinal cord. The football community can be unforgiving that is the truth bro. |

Earthquake1: He was always caught in two minds whether to cross the ball or shoot, and he spent unnecessary time on the ball
I hope he develops confidence and a thick skin Some of those were just trickeries to confuse opponents about his intentions. Talking about holding too much of the ball. He needed to do that on some of those occasions in a bid to open up space in the defense of the opposition. You saw how he initiated the Arsenal's only goal for last night. That was one of such moves. Iwobi has grown better as a winger under Emery. |

And the fans constantly in his ears are not helping matters He offered the greatest threat for Arsenal going forward. Arsenal's attacking play lost some steam once he was taken off. He still needs to build up his confidence in taking shots at goal. Ozil is finished and should be off-loaded come summer. |

BascoVanVeli: The money might have improved but the national pride has always been in the game. That is no reason to take it any further than a game. The only thing I won't accept is a player not giving his best. I can understand if the player continuously misses and offers nothing else but for one single miss I can't agree. Have you read about Andres Escobar of Colombia? Go find out where one costly goal he scored landed him. Not just misses but also mistakes. A single mistake has ended the careers of so many players. The Football community can be unforgiving some times. |

BascoVanVeli: How can u even compare forgetting a knife in a human being to missing a goal? Football is a game, it is not life and death. The problem u have here is that most doctors have not forgotten knifes in their patients whereas all football players have made mistakes here and there. If the best medical doctors in the world were forgetting things in their patients upandown u could compare the two. Football has gone beyond being a game. That is the reality bro. There is national pride and huge monies at stake now. |

BascoVanVeli: This miss was not that bad tbh. The ball came off the bar at some pace it is not like the ball was sitting waiting for him to head it. Then it also goes to how good a player is with his head.
I don't think anything should be unpardonable in football unless it is something to do with violence. Players are human and they can switch off from time to time. The problem is that when u are a striker or goalkeeper ur mistakes are magnified. I think what affected him more were the pace of the ball, uncertainty in the direction after that bounce and then his indecision. Plus he was trying not to allow the ball touch his hand. And he also exposed his poor "heading" ability. Issue of pardon. I can tell you some misses are unpardonable in Football. For Nigeria, Yakubu's miss against S/Korea and Ighalo's miss against Argentina top the list. What do you say of a Surgeon that forgot his surgical needle in the stomach of a patient. If I am going by your comment "he is human, he is not a machine". "No medical mistake is unpardonable". Men, these are well trained professionals. Be it a Footballer, a medical doctor, or what ever profession, there are some basic errors that are not expected of them. If you give your house to a Civil engineering company to build for you and the building collapses after almost completion due to some basic structural defects. Then you will understand what pardonable or unpardonable really means. |

But it is so unfortunate that the only thing people (especially younger people) remember about Yakubu is that miss. I know Football is not easy but some errors from professional Footballers are unpardonable. |

Joebie: Rohr expresses worry over Uzoho’s club status
January 24, 2019 The Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has expressed worry over the team’s goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho’s inability to maintain the number one spot in his Segunda Division Club, Elche.
Rohr made the comment on the sidelines of the Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 4 between MFM FC and Rangers International FC of Enugu.
NAN reports that the Super Eagles gaffer was in the stands to watch out for outstanding players among the NPFL players.
Reports have it that the Uzoho, 20, and Eagles number one shot stopper who recently quit bachelorhood has fallen down the pecking order in the goalkeeping role for his club in Spain.
The lanky goaltender is now used sparingly after the club, Elche procured the services of another goalkeeper during the winter transfer, a development the Franco-German coach is not comfortable with.

Rohr said that though Uzoho remains in his plan, his inability to peg a starting role for his club is a source of concern.
“I am watching the development of our number one goalkeeper, Uzoho because his club has bought a new goalkeeper and he is now in second place with them.
“I will like to see him as number one goalkeeper and not a substitute in a Spanish second league. I know that the level is high in Spain.
“We also have other players in Spain doing very well because I do monitor them to see how they are doing, their progress and fitness,” he said.
Rohr said that he was however happy that some other players plying their trade in Spain are having the needed playing time and doing well with their clubs.
“Samuel Chukwueze and Kenneth Omeruo are presently doing well and I am happy with that because they are part of the main team.
“When I first invited Chukwueze to the team, many were surprised with my action, but then, I knew his level, that he has lots of quality and he is already showing that.
“Same thing with Omeruo when he played the last game for us in South Africa, he is a good central defender and I am happy he is being recognised in his club.
“We also have Moses Simon who did very well in the game against Barcelona FC in their last game. We also have him in our plans too,” he said.
(NAN) Well, it is normal for a coach to get worried when his first choice players don't get enough playing time. |

I would advise Henry to go and beg Ezenwa to give him some of Rohr's nude pictures.....maybe that will help. . Hate? No I don't think so. I think Rohr sees Onyekuru more as a striker than as a winger. Same with me. Reason he didn't mention him among the wingers. |
