ChrisKels: I guess na tbaba1234 bring Rooney come to buttress a point that at a young age one can still shun youth tourneys for the major ones. But that "xplosion" na u bring am come when u said Rooney xploded at the Euros and not Everton.
Please stop the dribbles, answer this simple question; On what basis did Rooney make the Euros at such a young age? U know he had to stand on something to make the Euros that birthed his supposed xplosion I can bet you didn't watch Rooney play that season.Or probably u have forgotten. If you did you or u remember well u won't be making this type of comparison. Besides, why dwelling only on Rooney? What of Owen? That aside also, why did Argentina allow Messi and Aguero play the U20? They could have said "they are above the U20". The bottom line is that U20 team needs a player like Chukwueze and Chukwueze is not above playing for U20 please. |

tbaba1234: I am not comparing their careers. I am comparing the start of their careers. I am sure u know stats don't tell all the story. Chukwueze's starting stats may even have been better than those of Aguero, Hazard, Sallah or Mane. Even at that u cannot compare the way Rooney started his career to that of Chukwueze. |

Rooney had 6 goals in all competitions in 33 games.
There is no much difference between both and remember Rooney plays mainly as a striker or a support striker. Tomorrow no come dey deny say you ever compared Chukwueze with Rooney o. I don bookmark this post |

BascoVanVeli: You keep on making these definite comments but I will continue to remind u that u are not the coach. Fine I get it if u were the coach this is what will happen but since u are not u cannot rule the player out. That option is still very much available. Bros this is a very simple thing to figure out. But if you are hoping that Chukwueze will play both the U20 WC and AFCON good luck to your wishes. |

BascoVanVeli: That was what I was saying, he can miss the first couple matches there is no rule against that being done Missing the first couple of matches at the U20WC? This is a player that has not been part of the team all through the qualifiers. No reasonable coach will just throw him in like that without being part of the camping exercise. With the Spanish season closing a day after commencement of the WYC, Chukwueze is as good as ruled out of the U20 WC. |

Rooney only scored 6 goals in 33 games in his first season.

ChrisKels: He has only played 45minutes and he did better than his competitors did in their respective first 45minutes for the Eagles in the right wing. Since u wanna thread this path.
Now at the club level, this season, he has done better than all those guys put together, in the right wing. Abi a lie? 45mins comparison. Oga u have not seen enough of Chukwueze in the GWG to conclude he can presently offer more than the other wingers. |

Danielnino00: A couple of game time and a few EPL minutes aren't exactly enough to say he would have made the starting eleven of Villarreal..
Without any iota of bias and prejudice I can tell you that Chukwueze's current form is better than that of majority of the England squad as at the time they won the u-20 world cup... Villarreal may be battling relegation, but they are still a top half team in Spain and regular faces in European competition...
Chukwueze mayn't be bigger than the u-20 level, but realistically, the probability that he will play at the AFCON is higher than the world cup..all things considered The bolded is the bane of contention. Chukwueze would not have broken into the starting 11 of any top 8 EPL team. Period. |

tbaba1234: Chukwueze just needs to keep performing in La liga and he will be a star. Already, he has been linked with Athletico Mardrid and Real. He just needs to keep giving solid performances till the end of the season.
He does not need the under 20 tournament. The bolded is also what we wish for Iheanacho, Success, Onyekuru, Kalu, Iwobi and co. That is the expectation for every young player. It is just speculative but as I would always say: "Most youngsters end up as a disappointment to their fans". If you say Chukwueze does not need the U20 WC, Nigeria needs it. It is called "service to fatherland". But I can tell if Chukwueze gives out an explosive performance at the U20 WC his number of potential suitors will definitely increase and so will his market value. |

ChrisKels: All the wingers u mentioned have nothing on Chuks on the right wing. Only Kalu can try to give him a run for his money there, buh we all know Kalu does better playing from the left wing. Musa has never been useful as a winger let alone the right wing. Keshi had to bench his ass in 2013 bkus he cudnt do no jack playing from the right wing. What has Chukwueze done in the Right wing of the SE. From the number of minutes he has played give me one highlight worthy of note. |

ChrisKels: Big lie bro, big lie
Most of those players wouldn't start for this struggling Villarreal team and Chukwueze of today would be in and around the first team corridors of those clubs u mentioned.
Reel out the names of those players and place them side by side with Chuks, then tell me something. Ojo, Solanke, Ejaria, Tomori et al, were not as good as Chuks is today, before they embarked on that world cup journey Ademola Lookman and Solanke with their 2017 forms would make that Villareal team. Samuel Chukwueze in his current form would not have made the starting 11 of Everton or Chelsea of 2017. Laye-laye. Maitland-Niles was already getting a couple league games for Arsenal and was playing in most Cup games. Same with Sheyi Ojo at Liverpool. Edjaria featured more in Cup games for Liverpool. Chukwueze couldn't have broken into the starting 11 of Arsenal and Liverpool of 2017. Bottom Line is Chukwueze cannot be said to be above the U20 game level. |

tbaba1234: Villarreal is not a perennial relegation team. They were top 8 last season. That is why they are in the Europa league. They are having an unusually bad season.
Chukwueze is making his mark even against the big teams, Real Madrid and Barca. He is doing remarkably against top level competition.
Apart from Liverpool and Mancity, He will have a shout to make the first 11 of the others. For a young Chukwueze to be able to break into the starting 11 straight ahead, well that tells you about the available options they have in the team. Largely why they are battling relegation. At this stage of his career, Chukwueze wouldn't have been able to break into the staring 11 of any of the current top 8 teams in England or top 8 in 2017, with the kind of ease with which he did it with Villarreal. |

ChrisKels: See ehn Sir Pee, I understand the angle u coming from, buh do we have a better winger to handle that right wing for the super eagles at the AFCON? Yes Chukwueze aint above the U20 tourney, age wise, buh he is ripe for the super eagles already. The question now is, where is his services needed the most, and what stage would most benefit both the nation and the boy's career?
When ghana won it, a certain Andre Ayew was playing for both the senior national team of Ghana and the satellites. I wish Chuks could combine the two just like Ayew did sha First Bolded, Samuel Kalu, Iwobi and Musa can all play from the right. Chukwueze has not done anything worthy of note in the SE for us to say we will miss him at the AFCON. Wetin him don play? Which highlight of his game in the GWG do you have? That was how we were shouting "Onyekuru, Onyekuru" upan dan here last year. In the games he played for the SE how far? I am not saying Chukwueze is not ripe for the SE besides, he is not the first player that played for both the SE and Flying Eagles simultaneously. The issue we have on ground is whether he should play at the AFCON or U20 WC as both tourneys are too close to each other for him to feature in both. If you ask me where we need Chukwueze more is at the U20WC. If you ask me which will benefit him more I will also say it is the U20 WC. That is where stars are made. |

ChrisKels: Yea they had that exposure but none had done anything meaningful professionally prior that world cup. Pro the world cup sef, most have gone into oblivion. Their exposures no pass wetin Chuks, Orji, Kingsley already have So why would we classify Chuks as being above the U20 Level? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 5:17pm On Jan 18, 2019 |
tbaba1234: By that time, none of those players had done anything of note in the premier league.
Chukwueze has already done more than all those players put together in the last few months. By the time AFCON comes, he would have had almost a full season of top flight football.
He is already a regular, none of those players that won the world cup were regulars in the premier league.
Can Villarreal that is battling relegation be compared with any of the Top 8 English teams? Can Chukwueze make starting 11 in Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man United, Liverpool, Mancity or even Everton? These were the clubs majority of those boys were in then. And they were already getting a couple of minutes in the EPL and in some cases full 90minutes in Cup games. |

ChrisKels: Can u answer this question below?
Even Pogba's all conquering 2013 U20 set were made up of prospects with less professional experiences. I could remember laughing my ass out whenever Sabaly(now plays for Senegal) was on the ball trynna do a Marcelo from his full back position.
When Cedric Bakambu, Gael Kakuta, Alex Lacazette and co beat us blue black in 2011, they were nothing professionally and that tourney went a long way to give shape to their professional careers. The U20 has always been a spring board for young professionals. But if you have a young professional who is a starter already in his club it doesn't mean he should be excluded from the U20 level. As long as he falls within the age bracket he is still within the U20 level. Why didn't Argentina stop Messi and Aguero from playing in the U20 WCs back then? |

tbaba1234: How many of the players in the last England under 20 had played a full premier league season. How many were starters in the premier league? How many were making waves in the premier legue?
Once Wayne Rooney exploded for Everton, he did not play youth football again.
If we had just the under 20 tournament, why not? But i feel like if we choose our best 23 for AFCON, Samu will have a great chance of making it. Has Samuel Chukwueze played a full league season? This was an English team that had: Dominic Solanke, Ademola Lookman, Sheyi Ojo, Ovie Edjaria, Joshua Onoma, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Dominic Calvert-Lewin among others. If these players could not be said to be above U20 level at that time (2017). How can we say Chukwueze is above the U20 level? |

ChrisKels: Who would u rather he mentioned than those three? Of all those supposed countries with players already established club wise, who has a player better than Chukwueze? Thirdly, can u name one player from England who has played up to 3 professional seasons in the top leagues and still eligible for the U20 tourney?
Finally, this season, Kingsley Michael has won more MOTM awards professionally than all the players eligible to rep England in the next U20 tourney. Can u beat that? He was probably expecting me to name those English boys. So predictable. I do not count my chickens before my eggs are laid. I can only speak about players that are available to play for us. |
