But then, its your parade. And I don't know if these people forget easily or just chose to blank out certain aspects of their memories. Were these not the same boys that we saw pass through the MRI and we hailed the team of being geniunly U17 and yet gave us victory. I am not surprised. Most of them didn't know Chukwueze from the start |

BascoVanVeli: I don't think he should leave Villarreal. Their brand of football is perfect for him and he is always going to be loved and supported at the club. We should not discount what the environment he is in has added to his growth. You saying if Villarreal should relegates he should go down with them? |

bobobooge: I still feel Nacho would very much excel in a Spanish club like Samu is doing.
@ icon4s
If you have the opportunity as a coach to bring one player from the 3 below to improve your team at the moment who would it be?
Nacho, Onyekuru, Samu Bros try be explicit. Do you mean to add to my squad list? Match day squad? Starting 11? Sub into a game and of course what is the complexity of the game as at that moment that I was going to make the substitution? |

TheGoodJoe: I disagree especially when we look at the Chileans under Marcelo Bielsa and Sampaoli. They played with such aggressive intensity. If Guardiola or Klopp is coaching a national side, it is clear they will play with such intensity.
The problem is that most National teams are run by people without ambition to build fierce teams due to short-term goals. Win as soon as possible. You can see the Liverpool team is almost four years in the making and City three years.
It takes selection of players who fit the right system and time to gel. If the team has a long-term target, immediate small victories will not be a priority. The Chilean side you mentioned go compare the intensity with which they played with top clubs in Europe. The only time national teams can play with intensity close to club sides are at the advanced stages of major tournaments. By then the team would have built more cohesion having stayed longer in camp and played through the group stages. You do not expect such intensities with WC or AFCON qualifiers where teams have barely 4-5 days in camp And again I remind you that club Football is different from national team Football. Always have this vital fact at the back of your mind. Take this from the coaching angle. |

bobobooge: When last did we produce a world class player?
These are the factors that hinder us. We should stop pretending we have gotten it right. We are shooting ourselves in the foot and hindering genuine young talents who need the opportunity.
That is my point. See our problem. We have seen a genuine young talent that has gotten the opportunity and we are busy talking of one some where that doesn't exist. Any geniun talent who is younger than Chukwueze should go try it out with the U17 or U20 teams. |

bobobooge: Well I taught during my NYSC (infact I coached the football team) and I know what boys within the age grade of 16 look like.
By my experience, I tell you the boy looks around 19 in that pics. And as such should be around 22 - 23 presently.
The boy does truly look young, no doubt, and will be around for a long time but I highly doubt he's true age is 19. Hahaha Gradually you are coming down. I thought you said he is 25-26 years old? See some times it can be difficult differentiating between a 16 years old and 19 years old boy. Some 19 look 16 and some 16 look 19. Various factors can responsible which range from diet, facial grooves, inherited features etc. Growing up I looked 2 years older than my age. I was same height, or even taller, compared with boys who were like 2 years older than I was. The bottom line is you do not have any valid basis to discredit Chukwueze's age. But I have one valid, solid and very reliable basis which is the MRI. So * in ThegoodJoe's voice* "Finito". |

tbaba1234: There is still a player in Iheanacho. He just lacks the confidence and the determination, he once had. I don't know what can help him regain that confidence/passion though. Maybe a psychologist.
He needs to lose some weight too. Yes he still has a player in him but let's be sincere, his development has stalled in the last 2+years. As the days go by he is looking more like one of those players that peaked at 20/21 and struggled ever after. His is not an issue of confidence or passion. His has to do more with abilities. Having the ability boosts one's confidence. He looks lost for most of the recent games he has been playing. All these talk about Leicester system not fitting to his doesn't hold water to me. At least he has stayed long enough in the club to have embibed that system by now. This was a player many had so much believe in. He has obviously broken the hearts of his favorite fans that defending him has become more and more difficult by the days. |

EEGA: I don't think he is 19.But he is very young.
I recall a moniker here once said Chukwueze was hired as a mercenary to play against their school team and that day he disgraced him(the moniker) who before then was known as Marcelo. So how does that imply he is older than his age he claims? Do you know that Emmanuel Amuneke was smuggled into my school's Junior team, due to his small size, in the late 80s. Emma was born in 1970. And that was the age he used all through his Football career. So Chukwueze could have been used as a Machinery at the school level but that doesn't mean he would falsify his age in the real Football world. |

andrew444: Someone said I hate our players just because I said they are average and the argument was even mostly on onyekuru ,but as a football fan I will say what I know because I can't lie against my self ,if you are not world class then you are not .
I have said it twice on this thread that onyekuru is a better player than Bernard of Everton and he can make it there if given the chance or maybe his work permit issues sorted out
I also said onyekuru will not make psg team and am damn serious about it ,if anyone see it as bringing down our player then so be it .
I hate our players but am always on this thread defending the aim at iheanacho from some peeps here even iwobi also
Another one said I hate Arsenal because of the way I spoke about a certain Lucas Perez, thou that one no b naija player sha but I have always supported iwobi so notin consign me and Arsenal
My other offence was saying chukwueze should stay at Villarreal one more season and it's 2 early and saying I don't trust those Epl clubs ,but am I chukwueze? He knows what's best for him ,as a football fan I give my advice .
So because am a Nigerian calling our players world class means I am supporting them abi ? While deep down in me I know the truth . On Onyekuru making PSG team, do you mean starting 11, match day squad or Senior squad generally? On Chukwueze and Villarreal. One of the major reasons i would want him to move is because of the position his team currently occupies in the la Liga table. He is in a relegation threatened team. I think a move to a higher table Spanish club would be better IMO than an EPL move. He seems to be getting on well with the Spanish game and so let him continue his development there. |

Shows how much MRI has helped improve our football....
I'm eagerly anticipating what this year u-17 set will bring... Hm.. that matter. Watch as the same people that saw the young Chukwueze dazzle at U17 claim he is over 30years old already. They are so consistent in their reasoning pattern. |

Group A Niger South Africa Nigeria Burundi
Group B Senegal Mali Burkina Faso Ghana
And again just like at the U17 we escape Group B, a group of death.
BTW Niger seems to be hosting lots of youth competitions lately. Good for their Football development though. |

TheGoodJoe: After watching the Manchester City vs Liverpool game, you can see how much work rate and intensity have become a big part of the modern game.
A player who played a big part in the Manchester City win was Bernardo Silva who covered every blade of the pitch in record time.
This is why I am against us building our game with conservation but work more on building a team that play all games with high intensity. The kind of intensity u get with club Football u cannot get with national team Football.National Team Football are typically slower and more conservative than club Football. Several factors are largely responsible: 1. Nature of oppositions are mostly weaker. 2. Players see FIFA window as a period of break from intensive club actions 3. Players play to avoid injuries 4. The nature of most pitches in Africa for eg do not allow for free flowing Football hence the use of so much energy to get the game going which reduces match intensity at advanced periods of the game. 5. Poor team play: You can only achieve intensity from all players if there is team cohesion. Ie all Players must be on the same frequency which is hardly the case for national teams. |
