do4luv14: even the tweet from that Castro guy, is evidence enuf,
if his classmate, was 22 presently, there is every chance his what his age say he is, 19 going on 20, if not 20 already Oga go back and read that Castro guy's post again. He said he knows a girl who is friend to Uzoho's IMMEDIATE ELDER SISTER and that they( This girl and Uzoho's elder sister) went to school together. This girl is 22. Meaning she will be of about same age as Uzoho's ELDER SISTER. Uzoho is 20 does that not add up? |

bazooka1: This is Uzoho back at the Aspire academy in 2012. He looks relatively older than his team mates from this picture. Which look older? Because the boy wowo abi? How can someone look like this 6 years ago and today u say he is above 30? Can't u see his physical development during this last 5 years. Do men that transit from 20s to 30s experience such change? |

He looks 25yrs old in the Picture. You want to defend his real Age but what you could come up with is Picture?! What about is Birth Certificate?! When was he enrolled at basic School? Did he write O'Level Exams or not? If he did...... When?
Let's just leave the Matter, cos I do not like engaging in a lengthy debate anymore on this Thread. I've been in ghost mode quite a while but can't do in a Day without touching down herr mostly for fun sake. I have a friend whose 15 years old son is already bending to pass through the doors. Maybe you have never big teenagers before. |

tbaba1234: Uzoho has grown taller since 2013 meaning he was still growing at the time. Typically, young men stop growing between 17-21.
Uzoho attended Boys Model Secondary School, Owerri. As at 2011, he was still in secondary school. He was discovered by Aspire while still in Secondary school after shining in a tournament sponsored by Coca cola.
This is Uzoho in 2014 at Aspire.

He might not be 19 but he is not more than 22/23. Thanks Jare. That was how the other day they started tauting Awoniyi's age because he was getting married. Is writing WAEC same year u played U17 not indicative of u being about that age? Thank God we all saw Isaac Success as an U17 player. Else they would be saying he is 40years old. You people just chose to switch off your memories. Go back to those 2013 U17 pictures and videos and refresh your memories please. |

Some Dudes really believe Uzoho is indeed a Teen?! LMAO! Uzoho is certainly in his 30s...... I've never for once believe he's a Teen or below 30s.
As for Iheanacho...... He needs to be dropped from the Eagles at least till he learns Talent ain't only made a Player, rather consistency, Developments, and positive Results.
The Dude is losing it, while his Compatriot is rapidly developing to a World Class Player. Check on United Thread, Dudes there are even suggesting Ndidi should be bought to replace ageing Matic. You people will be talking without facts. This is Francis Uzoho barely 5 years ago. How can someone currently in his 30s look like this 5years ago. |

This is the same guy that bounced off Iheanacho like a rag doll and don't forget how Musa chased him down from the other half and squeezed him off the ball Percy Tau was a major Attacking threat for the better part of that first half. Not just "one moment of brilliance". |

ChrisKels: When I talked about slave trade, I meant the Kanu's of Freetown (Sierra Leone), not the ones in Brazil. The Brazilians are clearly due to Kanu's heroics in Atlanta 96 just like the one below; Does the boy's physique wring a bell?
Tbaba1234, Icon4s, Komekn Even the Ones in Freetown, it is not likely they of Nigerian origin. Remember Teko Oliseh? He is a Sierra Leonean and has no ties with Nigeria in whatsoever way. As I said before there are some African words or names from different ethnic groups with same spellings but different pronunciations and meanings. Just in Nigeria alone: Obi is Kola in Yoruba but heart in Igbo. Ebi is Can mean hunger or family group in Yoruba but we have Onome Ebi who is an Urhobo girl. Ola is Jewel in Igbo but wealth or tomorrow in Yoruba. I can go on and on. |

ChrisKels: This question goes to the history lovers in here. The name "Kanu" is gradually becoming a household name in Brazil(one Kanu even plays for Kortrij in the Belgian first division) due to Nwankwo's heroics in Atlanta 96, now, what inspired same name in Sierra Leone? I av come across some Kanus from Freetown that I mistook for Nigerians. Does it have anything to do with the defunct slave trade?
Icon4s, junnyjake and other history lovers There is also a Robson-Kanu in the Wales national team. I don't think it has anything to do with the abolished slave trade. Although there are several part of Brazil where we still have enclaves of ex-Nigerian (mostly Yoruba) slaves. But one thing about slave trade, the slaves hardly keep their original native African names as the new owners forced foreign names on them. So u will hardly see a slave lineage that has their original African surname preserved to this mordern time. That Kanu of Brazil or Sierra Leone are not likely related to Nigerian origin. They most likely do not even have the same meaning. Just different words or meaningd with same pronunciation. I have seen similar words in Igbo and Yoruba with same or similar spellings but completely different meanings. |

Curtisaxel7: Very wonderful idea. Let's not just be talking alone, let's be doing something too, no matter how small. The plaque will be a manifestation of what the power of friendship, passion, patriotism and love can achieve. We've all spent our time, energies and data passionately supporting Nigerian football for years on this forum, we've celebrated our victories, and mourned our losses. We've analyzed and argued and examined. We've made friends and built relationships. This is no longer just a forum, it has become a family. I think it's high time we had let the world see what we can do.
I fully support this idea and I call on all of us to support it morally, financially, and in any way we can.
Namaste. Thanks for this heart lifting comment my brother. We have been talking talking and talking here for years. It is time for us to move to the next level. We should let the players and coaching crew feel the pulses of the fans. They have to know we have fans who follow them year in year out from national team to their clubs. If this be our only contribution to Nigerian football let it be. We all are part of the story thus far and together we shall take this forum and Nigerian football to greater heights. |

I have received advise from well meaning soccer fans out there who know the value of celebrating Nigerian Football to create Award plaques for the award winning players. We are taking an extra step and looking at, for a start, creating for only Musa and Oluehi. It won't take anything to send the award plaques to the NFF secretariate for them to give to both players. By so doing there is no way the winners , the NFF and other Super Eagles and Falcons players will not know about the Awards and this wonderful group. Abeg who is with me on this? Click like if you agree and If you are against click share. |

Danielnino00: You think Seun cares? He and his moderators know the kind of news that attract more traffic.. those are the kind of news they move to front-page... And a News like this cannot attract traffic? Go to sports compact, it is the number one most viewed News item. If Nairaland does not consider Ahmed Musa winning Nairaland National Team Football Fans Award as News, even when it made front page when some other group gave him the award, then we are missing something here. |

Earthquake2: Create a thread on it and ask Lalasticlala to take it to front page
Cc Icon4s My brother, I created a thread for it. It was from that thread that sports compass picked up that piece of News because they are our exact words .But the mods didn't deem it fit to take it to front page. I expected same for the voting thread but it didn't make front page, which to me is even a blessing as the people that voted are us here and other patriotic fans. I don't know what Nairaland mods are up to. I saw the other Sports stories they took to front page and I just shook my head. But I know one thing for sure is that this poll has really promoted Nairaland. Even in the news that was cast on Vibes FM the source of the poll was mentioned as Nairaland. Infact it was the major sports news on the station that day. I expect more online media to carry it while Nairaland mods continue with what ever they think they are doing. Let other media promote polls that were conducted on their site. I think Seun needs to know about this. |
