goldfish80: This lethargy started from the qualifiers, especially within the first 20mins of matches. It must have something to do with lack of belief and not being properly psyched up. Hold it there before I do something silly.

Joebie: That’s a whole different argument.
Yes, Moses played very well. Lovely assist by the way. Musa’s first touch was top notch. So are we still going to lose to Argentina or not?

#sidondeylook I thought you guys said Rohr is too conservative? He comes up with something New and different today and you are still complaining. |

M7even: Have you guys noticed that teams that lost their first game have not been able to win their second games. Teams that drew their first game are equally following the same route. Save Iran, who won and lost to Spain Eh but neither of Iceland and Nigeria won their first games. Nigeria can break that trend. |

ChrisKels: Your coach is a coward and he believes his team isn't ready for the world cup. He already down played ur win against Argentina saying Messi wasn't there. The latest now is telling us we are in top 50 while our opponents have better ratings, hence we should lose without shame.
That Rohr guy is a big failure, dont expect anything positive from him. If we scaled through, na miracle and all praises should go to the fans for proving the negative coach wrong. Eh thank you. He is "our" coach and not your coach also. |

mank1234: Croatia against us us different from the one against Argentina.
They played very relaxed today because they had 3 points while Argentina played with much pressure because they bungled in their first game. This explains why the keeper made that error and that was the turning point of this game.
Tomorrow Nigeria will be under tremendous pressure while Iceland won't be. This is their maiden tournament - they have already exceeded expectations. A win will be a plus for them while a loss won't be fatal. I hope Nigeria will be able to shrug off the *fear of not making it and play their normal game. Who told you Iceland would not be under pressure to win? Oga they only have 1 point and need the 3 points as much as we do. You people that will never see anything good about your country. I don't understand the point you are trying to make here. |

Icon4s: I’m ready to sacrifice myself for the team – Captain The Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr, has stated that the position that Mikel Obi plays was not the reason Nigeria lost its match against Croatia. Following the 2-nill drubbing of Nigeria by Croatia, many soccer loving Nigerians have reserved the harshest remarks for the Super Eagles and their handlers. Many sports analysts believed that Nigeria lost the match from the bench rather than the pitch and blamed the head coach for some glaring technical mistakes. Rohr said, “There should be sacrifice. Etebo playing number 6 doing very well. There was Ndidi playing number 6, doing very very well. Do you want us to play with 3 number 6?” While defending the position that Mikel played in the match against Croatia, Rohr said, “We’ve won all our games in Nigeria in the last two years. This Obi Mikel in this attacking position is giving the size of passes. Remember against Cameroon, we won 4-0. “It was exactly the same organisation. So, if you had played with Mikel as number 6, and another one, number 10, and you lost the game, you would ask the same question, ‘Why did you change now and you make him play number 6? You won all the games with him in number 10.
Source: https://www.makeitglobal.biz/mikels-playin/ The last paragraph is exactly typical of what most peeps that were against Mikel playing the AM role would have said. Rohr really knows Nigerians now. |

At least going by what I saw from them during the friiendlies and some of the qualifying games.
Would have wanted idowu and ndidi instead By choosing Onazi and Echiejile over Ndidi and Idowu, Rohr seems to have fallen back on experience. |

442... Ebuehi Balogun Ekong Elderson

The one that pitched an unusual debate matchup having The great Chief Icon4s, TheGoodJoe and Safarigirl in one corner and just Marvellous Bascovanveli and me in the other corner?! No abeg... Not again... That long debate... Haba..
In fact... Me right now... "I'm outta here" But that debate was interesting sha. One major reason I took that debate personal was because I was a victim of "You cannot combine football and your studies". I chose studies and left football and the rest is history. Some of my team members went ahead to play for the Super Eagles while I watched them from my TV room and school hostels. |
Sports › Re: Mark Geiger, Referee Accused Of Asking Cristiano Ronaldo For Shirt At World Cup by Icon4s(m): 1:42pm On Jun 21, 2018 |
MEDICPATH: THE referee in the Portugal vs Morocco match has been allegedly accused of asking for Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt at half-time.
Watford ace Nordin Amrabat supposedly made the startling claim about American ref Mark Geiger, having spoken to Portuguese star Pepe. Speaking to Dutch TV, Amrabat was quoted as saying: "I do not know what he [the referee] is used to, but he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo.
“And I hear from Pepe that he asked in the first half if he should have his shirt.
“What are we talking about? At the World Cup, it's not a circus here."
Meanwhile, Ronaldo became Europe’s all-time leading international goalscorer with his fourth-minute strike in the game. The Real Madrid star, 33, nodded home early in the clash as his side hung on to a 1-0 victory.
It was Ronaldo's fourth goal of the tournament and 85th for Portugal... breaking Hungary legend Ferenc Puskas' 62-year record.
It's taken Ronaldo 151 caps to surpass that long-time tally... and he'll now have his eye on the world record, rather than just European.
Ronaldo is already No2 on the global list - trailing Iran's Ali Daei, who scored a mind-boggling 109 goals in just 149 games between 1993 and 2006.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/world-cup-2018/6584535/world-cup-2018-portugal-morocco-ref-ronaldo-shirt/ Thank God the Ref is not an African else they will say it is inferiority complex. |
