Joebie: I’ve been saying we need to change the format of CAF WC qualification although it has favored us sometimes. We need several preliminary rounds and a final 12 countries that would play in a mini-league format. All the rounds should be spread such that the qualification matches for the next WC begin immediately after the end of the current WC. Africa would be better represented and a larger pool of players involved.
Modified AFCON should be held once in every 4 years instead. So what happens to the one in 2 years AFCON and it's qualifiers. South America that does something similar to what you just explained above play their COPA America once in 4 years and they dont play qualifiers for it. |

BascoVanVeli: Morocco was good but I liked their CHAN team better tbh. Maybe it had a little to do with the coaching because I have never seen Herve coach a high scoring squad. Can you compare the strength of opposition they faced? Because them take all those OkpOTU and Osas Okoro dem shine? |

elyte89: Can Egypt still qualify? Yes. If Saudi Arabia beats Uruguay, Egypt are back in contention: Russia 6pts Uruguay 3pts Saudi 3pts Egypt 0pts Egypt plays Saudi next. Russia plays Uruguay next If Egypt wins against Saudi and Russia beats Uruguay then all three of Uruguay, Saudi and Egypt would be on same 3points. Goals difference would then come in. It means Egypt needs to beat Saudi homesomely in that last game. However, Egypt can be eliminated today if Uruguay draws or wins against Saudi. So Egypt's fate lies on Saudi Arabia beating Uruguay. EGYPT ARE NOT OUT YET. |

Mujtahida: instead of playing him on the wings let him seat on the bench. it depresses me to see that boy go anonymous in matches he plays from the wings. etebo can play there. iwobi should never be deployed to the wings again abeg! Iwobi is not played as a winger but as LAM or RAM. Iwobi aside being played from the left or Right offers a lot from the middle. He bringa a lot to the team and so should not be on the bench. |

I laugh when people say Iwobi is not effective from the wings so put him on the bench.
The alternative should be assigning him a more central role.
You cannot have a player with Iwobi's abilities in this kind of Super Eagles team and you start him on the bench.
Bench Iwobi and start Musa Kwa? |

odun360: Nigeria’s 19-years old goalkeeper Francis Uzoho got everyone talking when he took to Facebook to celebrate his son’s 17th birthday yesterday report says.
In his post he wrote; “Wow my second son Michael is 17 today. I seek for God’s blessings for him. Daddy loves you boy”. .
The goalkeeper, who might have forgotten that he is 19 years old and could not have a second son who is 17, immediately deleted the post.

Okocha'a inability to explain Mikel's role kept Zola gazing. He was still expecting the answer to the question he asked meanwhile Okocha just said nonsense. |

safarigirl: Icon4s, remember yesterday, I said we would concede, we just needed to outscore. them.
As soon as I saw Ighalo in Rohr's line up, I lost faith because I knew that we would not outscore them.
If I say I am not disappointed, I am lying. I rate our team worse than the Saudi team sef, because Russia at least worked for their own goals and scored themselves. We CREATED goals for Croatia, we dashed them two goals and couldn't even pull one back from an honestly, terrible team
So many of us on this thread especially, stuck our necks out for those boys, and both the boys and Rohr slapped us in the face. If they couldn't play for themselves, they could have at least played for those who had faith on them. How do you just lie down and take rubbish?
No fight, no spirit, nothing. We would have done better assembling kids from oshodi and Mushin in that world cup, because those kids would have had FIGHT.
These shaku shaku boys and Rohr, just disgraced themselves. We can blame Rohr for wrong tactics and fielding players in the wrong positions, but it was Etebo who scored an Own Goal and Ekong who gave away a penalty. It was Ighalo who could not fight for balls, it was Shehu who was too scared to cross. It was Moses who was falling over when he needed to stay on his feet, it was Iwobi who shriveled and hid when he most needed to take flight, it was Mikel who failed to show true leadership when he needed to step up
Rohr failed and his boys failed Calm down my sister. You are not as disappointed as I am. I recall you saying we like to concede. The thing now is we don't concede from open play it is always through set pieces. I believe we were also unlucky with the own goal. That really influences the course of the game. Ekong did almost what Eguovoen did against Italy at USA 94 WC. Meaning we didn't learn from that. I will not give up on the boys yet. The minimum I expected was a decent performance even if we don't qualify from the group. I have always rated every Nigerian team high going into every WC. Let's see how they will respond against Iceland. |

TheSuperNerd: Don't mind some of these guys. Mikel did create some chances. And what Okocha said is nonsense. He is talking trash about accommodating Mikel. Who else can bring calm to our midfield the way Mikel does?
And guess who Mikel battled and won the ball off at that corner... it was Luka Modric himself. Both of them had a keen battle throughout the duration of the game. Mikel matched Modric throughout. I seriously faulted Okocha on that his comment of Mikel being accommodated in the team. He even answered out of context on what Zola asked him. Zola wanted to know which role(position) Mikel will play in the team. Very simple question. Okocha started saying all those accommodation stuff. Making it seem as if Mikel has been a burden to the team. His answer simply shows his level of knowledge about that team. He left Zola gazing because he didn't address the question. |

From time immemorial, Nigeria has never taken set pieces serious.
We easily concede from it and we hardly utilise it.
I wanted to site our grassroots development as the problem but when you have a situation whereby even foreign borns Like Idowu, Ekong, and Balogun would be there and we still fall prey says alot.
Victor Moses that is wasting all the set piece opportunities did not have his football development in Nigeria.
I would have also blamed it on the development of our coaches but Rohr is not a Nigerian.
Well, I just hope the team improves in that area. We cannot always be scoring goals from only open play. |

KevinDein: Serbia are a real dark horse in this World Cup. They look a very good team. Physically strong, tactically good and they do have very talented players in their ranks (Milinko-Savic is an elite midfielder in the making, already great).
This team will be very difficult to beat. I see them in the same ranks as Croatia. Capable of giving the top 4 teams a running for their money. |

Oasis007:

I advise we lower our Expectation on this Team and hoping for a Miracle to happen against Iceland and Argentina.
There are lots to pick from the first Match;
1 - I want Rohr to be retained not sacked no matter the outcome of our performance in this Competition.
2 - This should Competition should be the last Appearance for Mikel, Akpeyi, Echiejile, Ighalo, Ogu, Shehu, Moses, Idowu, Onazi, Musa, Balogun and perhaps Ezenwa. They should retire from International Football honorably after this World Cup.
3 - Ebuehi and Aina should be our RB and LB respectively, then we can scout for their Backups.
4 - Nwakali Brothers, Tosin should be drafted as Midfielders. Eze, Oyenkuru, are needed as Wingers in the Squad.
5 - in the striking Position, only Kayode I hope he becomes an integral part of the Team.
My Post-World Cup List for the Eagles;
1 - Uzoho 2 - Ebuehi 3 - Aina 4 - Ndidi 5 - Ekong (C) 6 - Omeruo 7 - Moses Simon 8 - Etebo 9 - Kayode 10. Nwakali K. 11. Oyenkuru 12. Adarabioyo 13. Musa Muhammad 14. Iheanacho 15. Awaziem 16. Alampasu 17. Eze 18. Iwobi 19. Ryan Sanusi 20. Nwakali C. 21. Amuzie 22. Kehinde 23. Okoye
Mind you........ this is strictly a Suggestion, pls don't come for my Head, just wanna divert our Attention away from the Loss. O boy chill fes. World Cup nova finish. |
