No I don't and your points are disappointing.
Something we are very aware of.

And you don't need to take this issue personal. we all know what the security situation in certain parts of the country is.

But if you feel any part of the country is safe, well then. No need for a fight here.

Which comment claimed the north is safer?
Did EPL team tell you they were asked to choose between Nigeria and Tanzania? I don't get!

With all the Nigerian support for the EPL, it is not fair that no team has had a tour in Nigeria.

But, i understand your points.
Sincerely, it is not fair. But what can we do as individuals?

Hope and pray things get back to how it was and we can reclaim our country.

You are correct in this regard.

Nigeria has serious security issues across the country but it is not that bad that tours can't be held here. Even if it is in the southern part of the country.
Is the South also free from insecurity? Those people don't see it the way we see it o. I am sure you know what I am talking about.

Nigeria has so many issues to tackle presently.

I maintain that Sokoto is one of the safest and most hospitable places in the country. Apart from the extreme heat, it will make a great host for a tour. Nigerians often project this image of insecurity that is often not true in reality
As if an average English man knows how far Sokoto is from the North East of Nigeria.

The original poster mentioned Tanzania (a country), someone reminded him of a similar stuff that occurred in Nigeria (Kano), you claimed that was then, even if the whole 19 States in the north is under war in your eyes, what about other parts of Nigeria? Can't Uyo host whatever Tour that any foreign club wants to do? Let's stop all this downgrading we do jare and be fair for once!
I was only reacting to a comment that the North is safer than the South I terms of hosting such games/tours.

As I said before the world is a global village. They see things and they here things.

An average English man does not know the distance between Maiduguri and Uyo. So don't blame any EPL team that chooses to play in Tanzania instead of Nigeria.

Says who? Are foreigners not entering and leaving Kano daily?

What does it take to visit and play in Kano? Worse become worse, military men are drafted to provide security at the stadium and escort them too.

Let's be mindful of how we just drop comments on public forum, someone not from the country would read and think Isis is the one running Kano.
The world is a global village.

Things have changed between that 2008 to now.

Football is meant to be played in a peaceful and exciting atmosphere. I cannot go to a stadium that will need to be heavily guarded by armed security men. Will the security men follow me to the parking areas. or my car or train home.

Please I have made my point.

Sokoto is one of the safest places in Nigeria. No religious crisis or conflicts and less crime. Not even when other parts of the North are boiling. Sokoto has remained fairly stable. Apart from the extreme heat, it will host teams with no issues.

Ofcourse, places like maiduguri are no go because of Boko Haram.
You will take Man United to Sokoto to go and play pre-season tour. I hope you'll escort them?

sir....I rather take the risk of the best NPFL manning the post against Cameroon than let akpeyi man that post ...
he lacks confidence... you can see it clearly in his face....alampasu will even do better to be honest...
we need a brave goalie against Cameroon...
my take on the matter...being that rohr will likely not thread the risk... I wrote above...is to let objectivity thrives in his team selection against Cameroon ...let the best goalie in camp man the post.....should it be alampasu ..let him man the post don't deny him his chance all because of he is inexperienced....
playing against Cameroon demands courage and bravery....
I remember osazi outing against the indomitable lions in 2004 afcon in Tunisia... though he was inexperienced but his bravery and courage was revealed in that match
Bros Daniel Akpeyi is first choice to mount goal against Cameroon. That is the reality.

You want to throw in a debutant NPFL goalie in a do or die game and you feel the keeper will command more confidence than Akpeyi. Bros... OK o.

And your comparison of Osaze in this case tells a lot.
You feel selection of a goalie is as light weighted as selection of a striker? That you'll just go and bring one new goalkeeper and field him against Cameroon.

As for Alampasu, in your words: 'because he is inexperienced', I just shake my head.

You made the comment about safety and Boko Haram. Boko Haram operates mainly in parts of the north east. There has never been BH attack in Sokoto for instance.

Teams can go to Lagos and Abuja as part of a tour of Nigeria. It is certainly feasible.
Had there not been Boko Haram attacks in Abuja, Suleja, Madala, Kano, Jos, Bauchi and these are cities outside the North East.

Let's be sincere to our selves abeg.

sir that's not what I mean....
you always so concerned about the now...
the truth is agu have defaulted in his job...
why keep inviting a goalkeeper who is not even a first choice goalie for his NPFL club side...let alone among the top 5 best goalie in the domestic league
keshi did same thing on us...with agbim.
I so much hate these practices of indigenous coaches not always fair wit their team selection.
the reason for scouting for a good goalie from the domestic scene would have been his gradual integration into the team, instilling of confidence and provide room for competition wit the likes of alampasu.....and groom for the future.....
let's say 2-3 years from now.
I understand you perfectly. But don't you think the now is more important than that 2-3 years you are talking about?

We need a goalie to mount the post against Cameroon and I don't see Any NPFL goalie not even Ezenwa that can do that job. Let's be sincere about this.

Like it or not Daniel Akpeyi is our first choice goalie presently. Though I am not too comfortable with that but that is just the reality on ground.

If you were born before the year 2000 you must have surely grown up hearing about the legendary match between Nigeria and India.
That match was so notoriously popular that it did not matter where you lived in Nigeria you heard the tale from one of senior cousins, uncles or even parents.
Lagos, Kano, Delta, Osun, Imo, Ebonyi, Sokoto, Kebbi, wherever you were in Nigeria, you must have heard about the match.
This was the team that was allegedly put out to play India
However it must be noted that the match never happened and whatever the version of the story you heard, here are five things the previous generation agreed on about the match;
Virtually everybody born before the invention of the internet must have heard the tale of a nonexistent football match between Nigeria and India that obviously took place in a parallel universe and somehow we got to hear the gory stories of that match.

Presently, Caf have very low TV viewership, low prize money, poor branding, all these are not likely to change.

Having countries like Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE playing in the AFCON will strengthen the competition commercially and other otherwise. We need to raise the standard and profile of the competition. It's not like your Rwandas and Djiboutis can't qualify. Africa will still present 20 or 21 teams.

We have to be creative. AN AFCON with those stranded African countries who can't afford to sponsor their teams through the qualifiers (remember Niger? Adebayor single handedly sponsored Togo through the qualifiers etc) is not commercially viable and makes no sense.
I doubt anyone can prove me wrong or convince me otherwise.
My major concern is : financing a 24 nations Tourney in the middle of the rainy season.

This implies boosting infrastructures in the 6 venues to Take care of the effect of the heavy rains. IE building covered stadiums and put in place excellent drainage system where the stadium is not covered.

We know how it rains in most countries of West, Central and East Africa at this time of the year. I remember how a game was abandoned in Enugu when Nigeria hosted the 2009 FIFA U17 WC. The game was later completed at noon the next day.

IMO CAF ought to have just only moved the timing first. And later in the not too far future considered an expansion.

Be it as it may, I suggest CAF encourages co-existing by 2 neighboring nations bc of the financial burden of hosting the 24 nations tournament. Or alternatively limit hosting to only countries that have the economic and financial capabilities.

Bleep federal character. Its better to hosts the tournament in the areas with the most populous urban centers/football fans.
After all, both the 2002 and 2006 AWCON tournaments were exclusively held in Delta, so there is a precedent for ignoring federal character in that regard.
Haha haha. Don't Bleep federal character o. It is for real.

The AWCON you mentioned was hosted by one state. And there was also 'state character' on the distribution of venues: Warri, Oghara, Ogwashi-Uku and Oleh. All 3 senatorial districts captured.

If Nigeria were to bid and awarded the hosting rights for a future AFCON, my preferred host cities would be:
Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Uyo, Jos, Warri/Asaba.

The round of 16 would be held in all stadia

Quarter final games in Uyo, Lagos, Jos, Abuja

Semis in Lagos and Abuja

Third-place game in Uyo, the final in Lagos.
Hosting in Nigeria requires Federal character. 6 venues: 1 from each Geopolitical Zone.
