Nigeria: Eagles Won't Qualify for Russia 2018 World Cup - Prophet Aika
Benin City — As the Super Eagles prepares for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon, a sport enthusiast and clergy, Prophet Tommy Aika has expressed fears that Nigeria may not qualify for the fiesta if his spiritual messages were not reckoned with.
He also said the appointment of a foreign coach, instead of a Nigerian, was not the best for the country as a foreigner, he said, would not lead Nigeria to lift the World Cup. He said that football administrators over the years have not helped the growth of football in Nigeria
The Primate and General Overseer of the Glory Church of Christ said he had been instrumental to the national team's chain of successes in the past, adding, "although I have never been appreciated for all my contributions to the Super Eagles lofty achievements, I am not deterred.
"The message that has been handed over to me for over 10 years now for onward transmission to the world is that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be the first team in the continent of Africa to lift the World Cup
To achieve this feat, the team should not be led by a foreign coach. I will participate in the spiritual aspect of selecting three coaches and two financiers to be attached to the team.
"The process of the spiritual selection of the coaching crew will involve a girl not older than seven years picking the three coaches and the two financiers through a lucky dip.
"One of the coaches would be given the responsibility of coaching the attackers. The second coach would be saddled with the responsibility of training the midfielders and the third would be assigned to training the defenders and goalkeepers.
"As per the two financiers, one will be mandated to cater for the footballers, while the other would be in charge of the officials.
"All these will be done in the presence of the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and two other prominent personalities, Generals (Rtd) Theophilus Danjuma and Abdulsalam Abubakar.
"Of course, I and my team of prayer warriors would be doing the needful in the background," he concluded.
http://allafrica.com/stories/201708030287.html Crap! All these negative comments just because of one lose. Could he have said something like this before that SA game? I laugh because I know he still come and deny this crap by the time we qualify. |

Joebie: In this country of 1001 opinions how could you be shocked? If Osaze is called and he gets the nod to start, then that means his 13 goals in the Indonesian league is not a fluke. There is no cause for alarm. Like I said earlier our talk here is barely noticed by those in the helm of affairs. Free speech is permitted. Yes. You are right. They are just talks and also wishes. But let me state one fact. That team is not lacking in quality to compete at this level. Is it not the same team that beat Zambia in Ndola and the highly talented Algerian team in Uyo? What was the difference against SA? Key senior players were not present. The team lacked a leader. With the return of Mikel, Moses and Balogun you'll see the real strength of that team. All these panic calls here and there are not necessary IMHO. We just hope our key senior players will be back for the next game. The team is in transition and this transition should not be truncated because of just one loss. |

9jaStar: Paralyzed? No. We lacked experience and leadership. This is a team in transition, and under those circumstances, there is a need for guidance and direction on the pitch. We were missing Ikeme (first choice GK), Leon Balogun (regular centreback), Mikel (captain and leader), Victor Moses (key attacking player).
Then the coach decided to start a rookie (Awaziem) ahead of Omeruo's experience, claiming some weird psychological holdover from the last game; and Ahmed Must, citing muslim fast.
And so we had a team that had just two players with any real extended international experience (Echeijile and Onazi). And even Onazi is still basically a newbie if you consider our past teams.
Did our team get overwhelmed and outplayed by SA? Yes. The reason is simple.
But I'm confident that with the addition of just two or 3 of those missing players, we will take out South Africa in the return leg. Mark my words Good one. In fact Perfect! This is what you post when you analyse football without sentiments and favoritism. I love your post. Hope to see more of you here. |

Joebie: Ola Aina: Tammy Abraham Motivated me To Join Hull
Posted By: soccerasson: July 12, 2017In: Eagles WatchNo Comments Print Email Nigerian Defender Ola Aina has revealed that close friend Tammy Abraham was the motivation behind his move to Championship side Hull City
The 20 year old joined the Tigers for the 2017/18 campaign, a year after fellow Blues’ youngsters Tammy Abraham and Tomas Kalas departed Stamford Bridge for successful seasons with Bristol City and Fulham respectively in English football’s second tier.
The player now wants to follow in his friends footsteps show everybody at the KCOM Stadium just how good he is
“We all support each other and we all hope for good seasons for each other,” Ola Aina said in his 1st official interview with hull city .
“Seeing my good friend Tammy doing so well in the Championship last season is something that motivates me to do the same this season here at Hull.
“I’ve spoken to him about the benefits a loan move can have and he always talks now about the confidence that last season has given him.”
“ It was equally as good for his football and he says it has made him into a man really by moving away from home and living by himself. He’s given me plenty of advice and I can’t wait to get started.”
Ola aina who despite representing England at youth levels has switched allegiance to Nigeria also spoke on his expectations with his new side
“Last season was really good for me and being part of the squad that won the title was fantastic,” Aina added.
“This is a big move for me – my first loan away from Chelsea – and it’s all going to be a new experience for me.
“I know there is a really good squad here and I am excited about working with the players that are here.”
“ I’ve spoken with the Head Coach and he wants to take Hull back up to the Premier League. The vibe that I got from him was really good and I just want to hit the ground running now.”

Mickael2: This I can agree with. Our coach has only been here for a short while, he should have a trusted core, there are some positions you just don't change for the fun of it. When Ferdinand became a relatively poor player, Fergie kept on playing him because of his partnership with Vidic(that cost Evans his proper development and game time) but that's how the defence is, you can be good individually but a bad partner will make you look like crap Good point. |

Mickael2: but Osaze hasn't scored 2 goals, he has scored 13!!! Wait, thirteen and not in one game but continously. And before you start saying it's the Indonesian league so how come nobody else is scoring at that rate there if it is so easy? If the league is whack then how come Essien's team(Ashley Cole is in the same team too) is losing since he can just pick up the ball, beat 10 players plus GK, sit on the ball then use his head and roll it in because the league is easy Osaze cannot play competitively in a game as crucial and as demanding as a WC qualifier. Trust me on that. |

Joebie: I call that goals draught. Even the young players will experience it too. The fact is you need a good balance of youth and experience. Emenike looks really good right now. Or is Osihmen banging goals We need the experience of players who are still productive and prolific. Moses, Musa, Mikel, Onazi, Echiejile, Balogun and Omeruo can provide the experience we need in their respective positions. We just need the youngsters to ride on their backs. The absence of 3 of the 7 I mentioned above is largely responsible for our loss to SA. All 7 played against Algeria and all the goals came from 2 of them. The only young player I am not comfortable having in that team is Osimhen cos he IMO has not yet proven himself as a professional player. Others like Iheanacho, Kayode, Simon, Iwobi, Etebo, Ekong, Ndidi, Awaziem and Shehu are rightly in the squad. |

How many goals did Emenike score in his peak? You and I know Emenike had his run And then stopped scoring. We were patient and still allowed him more time to see if he could manage to pick up. But he didn't. We have moved on. We have younger strikers now whose careers are on the rise. We need to explore and exploit those. To me Ighalo, Ideye, and Emenike are no-no. |

Joebie: I think we still need Emenike.
He scored 3 times against Monaco at the Champions League qualification stage last year. 1 assist against eventual Europa League champoins 1 goal against Feyenoord 4 Super Lig goals.
Currently he has one goal from only 2 minutes of game time for Olympiakos in the Champions League. I think he still has it. Plus, he is big, fast and experienced. Emenike-Iheanacho pairing against Cameroon. My people, over to you.
Enyeama and Emenike should call off their retirement. Together with returnees Mikel, Moses and Balogun, and new boy Ola Aina, I think we are good to go with the rest of the regulars. "I think we still need Martins", " I think we still need Osaze", " I think we still need Emenike", "I think we still Need Ayenugba even Eyeama". We should just kukuma disband this whole team and call back all our old "pensioner" players. |

Sports › Re: Lukaku Vs Morata Compared Based On Statistics(check It Out) by Icon4s(m): 7:59pm On Jul 27, 2017 |
kloppzy: Lukaku or Morata? Let’s see
what the numbers say.
Finishing
On a basic level, over the past
three seasons, Lukaku has
scored more goals per 90
minutes than Morata – 0.51
against 0.33 for the Spaniard –
although the 2016/17 was
different. Used as an impact
sub off the bench, the Real
Madrid attacker actually out-
scored the Belgian with 1.01
goals per 90 versus 0.69.
In the box, the Everton striker
was still more efficient,
however. He converted 30% of
his shots in the area. Morata
managed to convert 27.08%.
Over the past three seasons,
Lukaku has taken more shots
in total too – 3.22 per 90 versus
2.17, or 2.22 on target against
1.40. He has the variety too,
with 11 headed goals, 15 off
his right and 27 off his left in
the league since August 2014.
When it comes to finishing, it
has to be the Belgian.
Round one: Lukaku
Hold up play
The Spaniard is without doubt
the superior option when it
comes to playing with his back
to goal. Lukaku prefers to get a
run on defences, whereas
Morata has shown his value as
a centre-forward who can bring
others into play, especially
during his two year stint at
Juventus.
However, the statistics paint a
more complex picture that
might otherwise be assumed.
Over the past three years,
Morata has drawn more fouls
per 90 than Lukaku (1.90
versus 0.80) and done more
when it comes to defensive
work, winning tackles and
making interceptions (0.81
against 0.23), while the Belgian
has actually created more
chances (1.30 to 1.03 for the
Spaniard) and completed more
passes in the final third (10.04
to 6.96).
Despite the Real Madrid
attacker recording more assists
per 90 (0.26 to 0.16), Lukaku
has actually played more
through balls too – 20 in total,
or 0.19 per 90, to three for
Morata, or 0.07. Even so, these
numbers must be considered
in the context of each players’
respective styles of play and
performances.
There is no doubt that for
Everton, Lukaku is more than a
goalscorer, but he is a striker
that plays on the run, forcing
defenders to back track, and
benefits from being the sole
focal point of how the Toffees
play. Morata on the other
hand, in spite of his own
heroics as a finisher for
Madrid, is a footballer who in
Italy showed a greater aptitude
for holding play up in the final
third for others.
Round two: Morata
Movement
Here, Lukaku comes into his
own. Not only has he shown his
ability to pop up in dangerous
areas more often than Morata,
taking 0.65 shots from “big
chances” – situations in which
a player finds themselves in a
position to shoot from very
close range or with only the
‘keeper to beat – over the past
three seasons, he has also
taken carved out 20 goal-
scoring opportunities on the
counter-attack, or 0.19 per 90.
Morata, meanwhile, has
averaged 0.37 “big chances”
and 0.07 chances on the
counter per 90, although
unleashed off the bench and
in a more aggressive role for
Madrid last season, the
Spaniard actually took on more
“big chances” (1.01 per 90 to
0.66) than the Belgian. He is no
slouch.
Yet it is the intelligence of
Lukaku’s movement, and
awareness of which gaps to hit,
that have set helped to set him
apart as a striker worth
investing in. Due to his height,
he is wrongly regarded as a
target man. Early and
inaccurate descriptions of the
Belgian as “the new Drogba”
hardly helped him either.
He is effectively an extra large
poacher who excels at
dropping off his markers,
peeling away to the flanks or
lingering around the box in
order to arriving in the sort of
areas defenders don’t want
him to be in, coming from an
angle that they can’t deal with.
Round three: Lukaku
Duels
A category in which the Belgian
just about pips his rival. With
his quick feet, he can turn
defenders inside out to force
back lines to implode, and
completed 1.74 take ons per 90
last season (1.18 in the final
third) compared to 1.48 (1.08)
for Morata. Over the past three
seasons, it’s a similar story:
1.44 (1.00) for Lukaku, 1.27
(0.79) for the Spaniard.
In the air, it’s closer still,
although not in the way that
may be obvious. While the
Everton striker rules over
Morata through the sheer
number of aerial duels won
(2.81 versus 0.85 over the last
three seasons) for success rate,
the Spaniard shows the value
of quality, over quantity,
completing 46.99% of his
headers to 39.97% for Lukaku.
Yet playing up top for United,
in front of a midfield primed
with playmakers ready to
unleash a centre-forward
capable of taking teams on as
well as taking their chances,
surely it’s the Belgian who
stands out here.
Round four: Lukaku
Big moments
In the common parlance of
modern football, the question
is which striker is the true
clutch player out of Lukaku and
Morata?
The Spaniard’s record is hard
to beat. He has already scored
more Champions League goals
than Diego Costa, and in 2015
found the back of the net in
both of the semi-finals and in
the final against Barcelona for
Juventus. Last season in La
Liga, only Lionel Messi and
Neymar scored more goals in
the last 10 minutes of games
than the Real Madrid striker.
Lukaku can be the man of the
moment too, however. No
player scored more goals from
“big chances” in the Premier
League last season. He was
tied with Harry Kane on 18. The
Belgian also topped the charts
for goals in the final 10
minutes of action too, with
nine – five more than Morata
managed in Spain. Against
tired legs, his underrated
dribbling abilities, movement
and capacity to catch teams on
the break cannot be dismissed.
Still, due to his greater
experience of European
football in the Champions
League, and a record of
delivering when it matters –
Morata scored three goals in
four games at Euro 2016,
compared to two in five for
Lukaku – the Spaniard takes
the plaudits when the crunch
hits.
Round five: Morata
Conclusion
Neither player is a perfect
replacement to Ibrahimovic.
They each have their own
charms and profiles as centre-
forwards, yet with three
categories to two, it is the
Belgian that comes out on top
in a head-to-head comparison
with the Spaniard.
Final results
Romelu Lukaku – three
categories out of five
Alvaro Morata – two categories
out of five
Winner: Romelu Lukaku Haba do a tabular comparison naa. Nobody get time for this long epistle o. |
