I am sure that the Afonjas are very excited about this Igbo youths v Arewa youths fracas. Those cowards are just waiting for the Igbos and Hausa - Fulani to fight it out so they can move in and eat the "spoils" as usual A friend of mine once told me, "if you're in between a Yoruba man and a king cobra, kill the Yoruba man first ... because the Yoruba man would kill you before the king cobra does". I am not saying whether he is or not, but your logic is fundamentally flawed. Staying "close with one of the chibok girls" (whatever that feck means) doesn't make him not to be a racist. First, as a politician, he can take photos with anybody. Second, this is exactly the same argument we hear from typical racist folks all the time, "I am not a racist because I have black friends." O pari Tolexander: racist ke?
So you can still call him a racist, staying very close with one of the chibok girls! |

So what's God's punishment for stealing, mister governor? O pari edoyad: Can't you remember this was the same fraudster that claimed that his people were getting meningitis because of fornication they were committing.
The Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, on Tuesday attributed the renewed outbreak of meningitis which has claimed hundreds of lives in parts of the country to flagrant disobedience to God.
Specifically, he said fornication was the main reason God was punishing Nigeria with meningitis.
He added that God decided to send Type C of the disease which has no vaccine as punishment for Nigerians’ nefarious activities.
Yari said this in an interview he granted in Hausa shortly after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

I have never been a big fan of the Uyo stadium. I think the NFF should renovate the Abuja stadium and move all Super Eagles home matches there. Having said that, I am not going to blame the pitch for that show of shame tho. If anything, the bad pitch ought to affect South Africans more than us because, unlike us, South Africa has world class pitches down there. O pari do4luv14: that's bad, but after playing very well on a good field, it wont be easy playing on such grounds, or have you ask ursef, y does some African country usually take their home match against us in an unfavourable ground? |

Oh, you didn't watch the match? Well, you didn't miss much sha. It was such an epileptic display by the Super Eagles. O pari do4luv14: ok, the o pari master,
honestly I don't watch the game, so I will first comment on ur first point raised, and will observe others to complete my take on the matter,
one thing that is constant with the flow of game is the quality of the FIELD, have been positive time and time again, about the quality of our football pitch, the players has had the foot and bodily demeanor accustomed to playing on a good quality grass,
lets face it we don't have such in Nigeria, do they are bound to struggle, I wont be surprised if they go to SA, play on good grass with that same team, I will jst pity the SAs cos they will be in for a big surprise,
still my take about the field, we have the tenacity to always fight back, or how do you see our first friendly against Senegal, that's telling you, the field has a say,
and as you always say

I totally agree with you that Stuart Baxter ate Gernot Rohr's lunch on that day, tactically speaking. Anyway, Rohr would have TWO opportunities to redeem himself in August and September. To me, he's a hardworking coach but I have never been a big believer in his technical abilities. But just when I was beginning to get sold on him - after the two games against Zambia and Algeria - he kinda knocked me back to my senses Anyway, these two matches against Cameroun would be the acid test for him. O pari Mickael2: in the first half we were winning all the 50-50s then their coach adjusted their play and they came out for us in the second half and that was where nd when the limitations of Rohr as a coach was exposed, no plan B and that cost us.
about the second point I think it's normal for a team that just conceded to start making mistakes |

Good observation! Let's hope that Rohr learned one or two things from that defeat. Like I had said earlier, that humiliating defeat might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Super Eagles because I think that the players and even Rohr were starting to believe their own hype. And that's defeat kinda brought them down to earth - kinda. O pari forgiveness: Wrong pegs in wrong holes.
The coach did not play many of those players in their natural positions.
Ndidi, Iwobi, Iheanacho, Etebor were not played in their natural positions.
The coach just assembled talented players without tactics, formation and experienced players. |

Folks, instead of all these unnecessary back and forth about who should've played where and all what not, why can't we spend out time and talent discussing more important stuffs? You know, when you lose, the player who didn't play is always the best player ... the player who didn't play is always the one who would've made a difference. But take it from me, our problem is the game against South Africa was much more than the talent levels of the players deployed. Man to man, out players were better than SA but we just didn't play well as a team. That's the bottom line. That's what I would expect all the "experts" here to be discussing instead of focusing on one or two players. And I will give you a few examples of how poorly we played: Today's game is all about movement - movement off the ball. And in our game against SA, there was totally no movement in our game. For instance, I expected more penetration in the midfield where Onazi, Ndidi, and Etebo were playing but they were all very static on that day. Why did South Africa won, practically, all the 50-50 balls? And why didn't the team do anything to raise the tempo of the game, as most Nigerian teams do, after we conceded the first goal? Why did we stick with the same high/long range passes that weren't finding their targets? Why was there no creativity in our game? Who's the player maker in this team? Is it Etebo or Iwobi?? And by the way, did anybody realized that our game tend to collapse once we concede a goal ... even if we're winning? Go back and re-watch the two games against Algeria and Zambia. The team became jittery and started making mistakes once Zambia pulled one goal back. They almost gave me a heart attack. And playing at home against Algeria, the same thing happened! Did anybody else noticed the same thing or is it me? Oya, I wanna hear the opinions of our local NL experts: icon4s, TheSuperNerd, forgiveness, Safarigirl, tbaba, Mickael2, do4luv14, Humility, et al. O pari Humility017: hmmm....how well can Ogu recover balls...? is he good in tackling? |

Ouch! Oga Icon, that was cold! And talking about Cameroun, it's silly to underrate them but it's also stupid to overrate them. I have watched all their matches since this year and they are NOT invincible. We can beat them at home and draw in Younde if we don't have injuries and our team play to their potential. Morocco, who aren't that good, nearly got a result against them in Younde (or wherever the match was played). Bottom line, let's hope that the howlers against South Africa is gonna serve as a wake up call to our team. O pari Icon4s: Meaning he did not watch or follow our last game IE against SA?
