Haha @O pari. You don kolo finis be dat one. Yea, my bad, I haven't followed the argument you were trying to make on this topic. However, what I was just trying to argue against is the tendency of some forumers to bring down one player so they can promote their preferred players. But I do apologize tho, if that's not what you were trying to do here. O pari goldfish80: |
Huh? What kinda farming season is governor Obiano flagging off in late July/early August? Farming season used to start in March. What am I missing ![]() O pari |
Some of you guys are horrible....horrible!!! So you have to trash Ikeme just so you can defend Akpeyi? Unbelievable! Listen, every goalkeeper, even the best goalkeeper in the world, makes mistakes. The problem we have with Akpeyi is that he lacks the basic fundamentals of a good goalkeeper. He flaps basic crosses. Can't defend his area. Lacks basic command of his zone. Lacks confidence in goal. You can't see Ikeme making some of the elementary school errors. No one is saying that Carl is world class, but he's totally a class or two above Akpeyi. O pari goldfish80: |
Kennysville, I don't wanna cuss you out but your post makes you sound like a full-time mugu or someone who has never smelled the four corners of a soccer pitch in his life. Who in his right mind would underestimate the importance of a solid goalkeeper to a team. Anyway, I am in a charitable mood today so let me educate you a little. First, the goalkeeper is your last and MOST important defender. Your entire defenceline is crap if you don't have a solid goalkeeper. As a matter of fact, a poor goalkeeper would even make even the best defenders in the world play with zero confidence. Jamaica just upsets the powerhouse Mexico in the Gold Cup yesterday. In yesterday's game, the only area Jamaica was superior to Mexico was in the goalkeeping department. Mexico has them on the rope the entire game, but their goalkeeper kept them in the game until Jamaica had a free kick toward the end of the game and capitalized. And I can go on and on to list the teams that won matches based solely on the heroics of their goalkeeper, but I don't have the time. Right now, what I have to tell you is that the goalkeeper is the most important position in the game. O pari kennysville: |
Did they force him to get an erection as well? Bizarre story! O pari |
*Applaud for Steph!* KPOM! You don tok am finis. No need to add anything else. O pari StephDamielola: |
These Afonjas must be the most envious people on the planet earth, for real! It looks like Nnamdi Kanu is getting a lot of attention, so the Afonjas came with their envy ![]() *NewFlashAfonja* They had already arrested Nnamdi Kanu, but it didn't get them anywhere. He's not a weeping general like your your kinsmen, OK. And now you want them to arrest him again? How do you define INSANITY ![]() O pari o |
Finally! I have been making that call since Rohr came onboard. I think it's outrageous to make Akpeyi our second choice goalkeeper when we have Emmanuel Daniel who has proven that he's better than Akpeyi. Anyway, good move by NFF. Better late than never, right? And in addition, I believe that Austin Ejide ought to be invited to the camp as well. To me, after Enyeama, it would be Ejide. I rate him on par with Carl Ikeme. O pari EEGA: |
Alloy Agu shouldn't even be the coach at all. Nigerians just have this weird idea that being an ex goalkeeper automatically makes you a goalkeeper trainer! To me, that's BS. You don't have to be a former goalkeeper to be goalkeeper trainer, the same way you don't necessarily have to be an ex football player to be a coach. But if we must chose an ex goalkeeper then why not start with Peter Rufia? He was a much better goalkeeper than Alloy Agu, played at the high levels longer than him, and even played in Europe unlike Alloy Agu. Hence, Rufia has the advantage of being trained by some of the best coaches in the game. Same with Ike Shorunmo. O pari Humility017: |
They may even call evolution. That lamb must be evolving into a human being. #ConfusedPeople O pari Ever8054: |
Yerima Shettima is a bloody mugu, but he made a good point this time. Like I had said several times, the Buhari administration totally mishandled the whole Nnamdi Kalu saga. They have turned him into another Nelson Mandela. If I were Buhari, the first time he stepped into Nigeria without a passport, I would just detain him at the airport and put him on the next available flight back to wherever he came from. By arresting him, Buhari turned him into a political prisoner and a freedom fighter. Right now, the gene is out the box and there's no going back on his agitation. O pari |
Well said, bro! And I knew because I have asked him a few questions on twitter which he conveniently ignored. Since then I don't even bother with his silly tweets any more. O pari LexngtonSteele: |
I find it really disconcerting that we can't find a few good goalkeepers amongst more than 200 million Nigerians. I am sure that they are out there but our coaches are too lazy to discover them. I wonder what the jobs of the local coaches who work Rohr is, if they can't discover a few capable goalkeepers for the national team. They may be in the academies or even in the Universities, but these guys just can't get off their behinds to search them out. O pari junnyjake: |
Any attempt to take an international match, friendly or not, to Sokoto, or anywhere in the far north, is asking for trouble. The fact that there hasn't been any conflict there yet doesn't mean that it isn't brewing below the surface. It's still a sharia state. O pari tbaba1234: |
Haha!!! People are actually commenting on this "news" article as if it's true. Are Nigerians that naïve? I don't think an average Nigerian is naïve but most folks here definitely are. The tendency to believe everything you read on the internet is quite disturbing. So a nameless website (newspaper?) came out of nowhere and publish a ridiculous article with ZERO direct quotes, and some folks here swallow it hook, line, and sinker! You didn't ask yourself one basic question: why would Cristiano Ronaldo be giving career advice to Neymar? Are they that close? The news would be more believable if they had claimed that this advice was coming from Messi, Suarez, or even the real Ronaldo. But some of you are too dumb to critically analyze anything ... if it's on the internet then it must be true, right ![]() O pari o |
Seriously, what kind of education do you folks have in Nigeria? I mean, what a weird combination of classes: Commerce and Salesmanship (whatever da heck that means), are they not the same thing? Government and Civics Education are also so similar that they shouldn't be two different classes. Na wao. Nigeria, we hail thee... O pari |
Please watch your language, bro. Are you a mind reader? So how da heck could you conclude that he has a dirty mind. eh? I am not holding brief for him, but the minds of some folks here are so evil that it would take the grace of God to heal them. O pari Herrymax: |
Was he playing by himself? I will show serious skills myself, if there are no opponents to tackle me. O pari |
Well, let's hope that they are coordinating this effort with Rohr. Creating confusion within the coaching crew is the last thing we need right now. O pari Joebie: |
Joe, you gotta take some of those reports with a grain of salt. First many of them are coming from agents. Secondly, not everyone knows how to evaluate players. O pari TheGoodJoe: |
Well, Conte likes Luiz so I am not sure he'd like to bench him but we shall see. O pari Saintsquare: |
End time "prophets". The Bible seriously warned us about them: For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24) But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (2 Peter 2:1-3) For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Tim. 4:3-4) Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. (Acts 20:28-30) |
I was just about to say the same thing: where's Chelsea captain in that line up? All in all, it's a good selection by the op. @Airtimex. Eden Hazard ain't going nowhere. Real Madrid wants him but, he's on contract, Chelsea ain't gonna let him leave. O pari Saintsquare: |
Of course, they are! KC is an A-list striker. Problem is, he just haven't been given enough chances to show what he's got. Watch him explodes when he gets a chance to play next season. O pari safarigirl: |
OPC do they still exist? I wonder where they were when Sanni Abacha was using the so called Yoruba leaders to wipe floor? Bunch of mugus O pari |
What kinda sentencing is this? Was it in a sharia court or something? Na wao, for Nigeria! O pari |
Trust me, God would always reward hard work. I love my Igbo people ... their destiny is blessed forever! O pari Amarabae: |
Well, that's good news, if it pans out that he becomes a starter. That would put us in good shape, goalkeeping wise, for Russia 2018 - if we qualify. I don't have anything against him, I just want him to show up something in competitive matches at his club side before staking a claim to the Super Eagles #1. O pari tbaba1234: |
