I think it’s too simplistic and naïve to blame “age cheating” alone for all these cases. Some of these guys simply found themselves in a bad situation and it ended their careers. And I should know because I played college soccer here in the United States. During our time, it was an open secret that you (the black guy) have to be twice as good as the white in order to play ahead of him. And that threshold increases if you’re an African with “a thick accent”, then you’d have to be 3 times as good to play. I still recall that in those days, I can score 2 goals but if we lose the coach would blame me….he’d ask why I didn’t score 3. But when we win, the other players would get most of the credits for the win! Oh my, that was definitely one of the worst experiences of my life. Hence, I can tell you that as an African, you’ll find yourself on the bench once you have a couple of bad games whereas your white team mates would get opportunities upon opportunities to improve….black players don’t have that luxury. That’s what happened to Obinna Nsofor at West Ham United. For months, Nsofor was their best player but, as soon as he had a couple of bad games, he got relegated to the bench. The same thing happened to Victor Moses at Liverpool. And it’s very difficult to find another club if you’re not playing day in day out at your current club. And that’s how most of these guys were frustrated into early retirements. And by the way, did you realize that even amongst the names you listed, most of homebased players are still active while their foreign based mates are retired. In addition, some of these players (Ogbuke Obasi, Apam, Anichebe, Odemwingie etc.) stopped playing due to career ending injuries. I am not excusing age cheating by any means but the issue is much more complicated than mere age cheating. O pari |
Twistaray:Trust me, I ain't lying to you. One was a 3some (two girls with me), but I gbenshed both of them in the same room....with lights on too. The secret is odeku (Big Stout aka Guinness lager). Once you fill yourself up with odeku, you can go all night long...try it and see, you'll thank me later ![]() |
What do you expect? Isn't that "sexual preference"? They should legalize it, jor. After all, who knows if he was born that way? May be we should commission a research study to find out whether there's a gene that causes him to prefer sex with dead bodies. Bizarre world and bizarre people |
The last time I went to a Yoruba party, it was at Festac side, I gbenshed 3 different girls before the night was over. And none of them even asked for my phone number, talk less of asking for money. gosh, they even thank me for the job ![]() |
Was this movie shot in ghana? This looks like Ghanaian movie, LOL. Nollywood has not gone this far before. Disgustig! |
To me, Yoruba parties are da bomb. First, you can eat to your heart's content. And in addition, their girls naturally don't wear underwear, so you can always gbensh (a quickie) in your car during the party and keep moving on...she can't even ask for your name sef ![]() |
whirlwind7:Obviously, you don't have a lawyer. Or else, your lawyer would've explained those clauses for you and you don't have to come to nairaland to seek help from total strangers. Bottom line, go get a good lawyer. Don't be a typical Nigerian doing penny wise pound foolish. O pari |
And the worst part is that we are playing both Cameroun and Algeria at home first. Our last game is against Algeria in Algiers or wherever they chose to play the game. gosh, somebody is definitely determined to ensure that Nigeria doesn't make it to the next World Cup. This kind of ojoro isn't even fair sef |
On current form, Algeria is the best team in Africa but like I had said on twitter, if Nigeria can get their acts together, I like our chances against ANY African opposition. Unfortunately, that's one thing we cannot do - get our acts together. Imagine, 4 months to start of the qualifiers, we don't even have a coach yet. The NFF is chaos. And the coaching selection is becoming a joke - thrown open to all comers! Can you spell confusion !!!Nigeria is a sad case! |

mimzy:Mimzy, any thoughts? I am a newbie here. Which forum am I supposed to post it on? And who can help me move the thread? |
SKAMM:Actually, I don't know the answer. I am new here - in Nairaland, but I used to visit Naijarules quite often. I haven't been there in a while tho. |
Who swings both ways? In your 'backdoor' opinion, which forum is gold? and which is just a forum wannabe? Candid opinions wanted! |
This Osi boy always looks like a houseboy, amongst his elders . No wonder the Hausa Fulani cabals don't have an iota of respect for him and his office. He's got a really bad body built ![]() |
Mister Dasuki, so being the NSA entitles you to have a private armory in your house? This man can not be serious!!! |
Stupid stat. I am not from South West but, over the past 6 years or so, I have registered more 10 active cell phone numbers at Lagos. Anytime I return to Nigeria, I'd purchase two or more SIM cards in Lagos (MTN and Etisalat) and all of them are registered and activated in Lagos. So go figure, how accurate the Lagos stats can be. Unacceptable! O pari |
The unprovoked attacks and killings from the fulani herdsmen by all means stand condemned. Anyone who in his or her right thinking mind should not feel it is their (Igbo) problem. At the same time Hoarder or whatever he calls himself with his name calling and what I understand as a list of his self righteous accomplishments needs to think like a grown up. Human life is sacred and must be guarded and protected not destroyed by senseless reasons or greed of those in power. Nigeria does not need another war. At the same time if someone is not welcomed in other areas of the so called country and cannot also live in tranquility in his own home, it is a problem. Scores of Southerners have fled the north due to the violence meted out against them by hardcore Muslims and most of the victims are Christians. Many of them barely survived the attacks against them and lost all their means of livelihood. |
Nigeria is a FAILED State. O pari |
Wow. I thought she was already married. Congratulations! |
Our problem isn't the age of the people in power but their character. Some young people are more corrupt than old folks. Let's focus on the corruption and incompetence of the folks in power. That's how we tend to major on minors ![]() O pari |
Well, it's difficult to say. It's possible that God decided to favor this particular agege bread seller, but it's quite possible that TY Bello just saw her and pick interest in her ... and the rest, they say, is history, just like ichommy said. Granted that God is interested even in the minutest areas of our lives but, at the same time, some things just happen. O pari |
The love of money is the root of all evil. Why would a pastor need such a flashy car when they are millions dying without hearing the gospel? Why would a pastor engage in such unnecessary and hedonistic luxury when there are millions of people all over the world dying because they cannot afford 1 square meal a day? Covetousness is sin. O pari |
Then marry her now. What's the big deal? O pari |
The Pro Biafra group has denied ever hijacking any ship. Please let refrain from all these Nigerian govt propaganda. O pari |
It actually looks good on her. Won't look good on everyone tho. |
