Gentlmen i am set to start my farm, i am renting a pen at a farm after IFO in ogun state, this farm is a cooperative, there are many farmers all around there doing various things, poultry,pigry, fishery etc i was looking for land to start my farm when i discovered i can start by renting a pen that is not in use. i did some renovation.
I have ordered for 600 broilers and 600 layers DOC from CHI . Somebody will be helping me managed it because i m a starter, though i will also be around. My birds will arrive before the first week of september. I will be updating the house if possible with pictures.

Hi guys, thank you all for contributing to this great thread, i am also an intending poultry farmer. My interest is the broiler, but i keep hearing every body saying there is no market ( both on this forum and outside) and i just wonder why. I was listening to a fast food owner not long ago and he said there is shortage of chicken for meat and he gave example of the fact that the largest chicken processing plant in South Africa process about 1,000,000 chicken a day while the largest chicken processing plant in Nigeria which is in Lagos process about 35,000 chicken a day ( can you imagine that) and our population is tripled that of south Africa.

So what exactly is the problem, food sellers are saying no enough meat, farmers are saying no market. Please can somebody help shed light cos i believe the main money in this business is on the broiler.

you need to tell us what solution you are trying to provide, not the minute detail:
1. is it a secret on how to pass the exam?
2. is it a secret on how to be among the few admitted?
3. Are you trying to provide an alternative to university admission?

what exactly is your solution all about.

The market crashed heavily in 2009, a stock like UBA for instance was bought at N60 with the expectation that it will get to N80. When market crashed it got to as low as N8, this is just one out of many, all the insurance stock got to the minimum price of 50k. You dont have a problem if you bought everything with your own money because u can wait for as long as it takes, but if you borrowed the money from your broker or a bank, you are in soup. They will sell all your stock including the ones you did not buy with their money and ask you to go and bring the balance from any where. Borrowed funds contaminate your portfolio.

If you must trade equity, no matter the stock you buy, don't borrow to buy stock !

I am not putting a kobo on any stock now, i lost up to N11 Million in 2008/2009. I took a margin facility with my own equity intact. When the market crashed, the entire stock has not enough value to payback (including my equity-life savings). My brother, let stock rest for now. It is funny because i m still working, if it happened when i m retired, na die be that o.

Hi @ Joseph 1013, you cant afford to keep quiet about this o. A lot of guys are waiting for the supposed second batch of this recruitment ( some people got their appointments in July 2012) and others were called for interview in november by NNPC retail. Still there are others who say they are sure there is a second batch coming, is this the second batch of the 2010 recruitment?

My Oga at the top is a nice concept if not for the way it ended, the expression is a fine one. People now refer to God as "Oga at the top". I dont like this a year older thing, how old is he now, in nigeria everything about age is hidden why? At this age you should proudly tell people i m 70 or 75 or 80. Old age is what everybody what to attain .

when i was in the university more than 10 years ago, i had a large boil on my body and i went to the clinic, i was asked to buy some antibiotics, i couldnt afford the cost, as i was going out of the clinic, i saw this sticker at the door, 'where is your faith?' i said 'that is it' i went back to the hostel lay my hand on the boil and commanded it to die in Jesus name, few hours later, the boil began to reduce, the following day it was all gone. Since then for more than 10 years now, no boil or any type of growth is able to survive on my body, once i curse it in the name of Jesus, it dries.

Any time any story doesnt affect your cost of living, just ignore it, dont comment, just go your way. After reading stories some of you will comment "how does this affect the price of whatever in the market?" The fact is you dont know what to say, so just remain quiet.

The Bible is way far ahead of science. Let me show you a few things:

1. The Bible in Genesis 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth in the begining. When was the begining we were not told. There is a lenght of time between verse 1 and verse 2. That difference could be millions or even billions of years.

2.Evidence in the bible show there was a creation before Adam, the pre-adamite creation. Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!". As at the time Adam was created Lucifer was in the world already, yet before Lucifer was thrown down, it was said that he weakens the nations.

3.Isaiah 40:22 said that the earth was round, and science fumbled saying it was flat until recently.

Science is only proving what the creator has already said.

There is no torture that is too much for the Boko harams for what they have being unleashing on nigerians. But you are not sure the guys in this picture are members of boko haram. I am always afraid for innocent people anytime our police said they have arrested or killed boko haram because i know what the nigeria police can do. In other to be seem to perform they just go and arrest any youth in the neighbourhood they are targeting and call them boko haram.

Yes, i heard that was the number of letters that was given to DHL, not the total.

Pally, the N1.56 does not include the upfront. The upfront and allowances are not found in the letter.

I learnt they will only call you from NNPC if there is problem with your address. If there is none, maybe UPS OR DHL will call you. Many people on NHJ forum have already received such call.

There is news all over that letters have been despatched to successful candidates today by NNPC through DHL.

This scandal is going to be the beginning of good things for nigeria as far as corruption is concern. People in high places will be afraid to demand for bride now. I give Kudos to Otedola.
