It's pretty obvious you are ignorant about the realities of the mindset of success.

True success ( which is not handed over cheaply to you) comes after a lot of obstacles, failures and setbacks.

So Peter Obi should surrender after 1 attempt while Buhari made 4 before he became the President?

Even Tinubu himself tried to be VP in 2015 and was rejected by his own party bigwigs.

No Southerner running for President has ignited Nigerians like Peter Obi has with the possible exception of MKO
He ignited Nigerians and Nigerians still pushed him down to the 3rd place.

The only people he ignited are mainly the people from his side of the country and a few youths elsewhere.

Obi banked on 3 flawed strategies, religion, youths, and tribalism and all 3 failed him simply because religion in Nigerian elections is always a nonfactor, secondly, there are more youths in other parts of Nigeria especially in the North than the loud and noisy Obi youths, thirdly, tribalism betrayed him because of his tribal, toxic, intolerant and tribal supporters.

Obi was a flawed candidate from the get-go, but internet noise and the aggressive ways of his supporters didn't let him see his impending downfall.

While you are at it, add the cost Oyingbo, Ikeja and Yaba overpass.

Add the cost of Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, and Oyingbo rail stations with platforms

Add the cost of trains and coaches and so on.

The cost of all overpass and flyovers, plus stations can not surpass the cost of that double track standard rail of 37km ..

Go and find out how much Amaechi spent on incomplete monorail..

Kudos to Sanwo Olu but most of the work was done by FG even the blue line Sanwo completed...most of the works has been done substantially by Fashola.. including a train bought and parked at national theatre before Sanwo Olu took office

Sanwo Olu built the marina station completed the marina track and bought 2 trains..even to this..he begged the CBN to loan him 70 billion naira courtesy of Buhari's approval..

2) Agreed

3) Not true sir. Some of the stations were built by FG eg Agbado, Ebutte Metta etc

4) Agreed

SUMMARY: the rail line is a federal govt project except for those few extras from Lagos State govt
.
No, Iddo is 4 miles away from Ebute Metta and you still have to cross Oyingbo from Iddo to get to Ebute Metta.

This means LASG built 4km tracks from Iddo to Ebute Metta.

You are nothing but a waste of time, you are even going out of your way not to make sense.

Buying coaches and building stations can not be described as "almost everything"

The rail track is what you should be described as "almost everything" ..the tracks are the most expensive..

Technically speaking the FG own and built majority of that line..LASG just added coaches and stations..I doubt it cost LASG up to 50bn naira..where as FG spent over N608 billion or ($1.6 Billion) as at the time of construction of the line the Ibadan.
I think you people are intentionally trolling for attention because this doesn't make sense.

We are talking about a 37km Red line and this one is talking about a 150km Lagos Ibadan railway.

Are you saying the FG spent $1.5 Billion on the 37km Red line tracks?

1 Red Line overpass alone costs more than the 37km track LASG is using.

German government own bulk of the shares in DeutscheBahn (DB). Therefore, the government is the major investor. And DB has been under-funded in almost 30 years. DB is not making profit. Increase in revenue doesn't translate to profit.

In the USA, freight train is what is profitable, not passenger train. Among world power, USA is a joke when it comes to pressenger train. You think car makers and their lobbiest would let pressenger train succeed in the USA? No one would buy car in the if pressenger trains are even half decent.
Hogwash, save your puerile rants.

Rail service is still the most profitable industry in America, passenger or rail, it doesn't matter.

For the records, Sanwo-Olu did not build any rail line called "Red Line"

Nigerian politicians can be so deceptive. The cunning man simply picked the portion of the FG's funded (Lagos - Ibadan) rail line that falls inside Lagos territory and nicknamed it "Red Line"

The so-called "Red Line" starting from Agbado - Agege - Ikeja - Oshodi - Yaba/Oyigbo is a part of the larger federal govt owned Lagos - Ibadan railway project that falls under Lagos territory.

Sanwo-Olu should explain it this way to Lagosians, he won't die. All the governor is doing to procure the train coaches
.
1. You are wrong, they are using FG tracks from Agbado to Ebute Metta Junction, but the rail system starts from Iddo so the LASG had to lay their standard gauge tracks from Iddo to Ebute Metta so we have FG tracks and LASG tracks.

2. LASG built the multiple overpasses and overhead bridges, not the FG.

3. LASG built the rail stations, from Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Shogunle, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba, Ebute Metta (EBJ), Iddo, not the FG.

4. LASG bought the coaches, not the FG.

The LASG is responsible for almost everything, the only aspect of the project the FG contributed is the portion of the FG tracks.

Seems you know little or nothing about the project or you have your own grievance or disingenuous motives.

It seems he does have a point. Apparently, the German federal and state governments do give grants and subsidies (in Germany at least) to Deutsche Bann in order to keep the national train pass at 49 Euros (as at October 2023)

https://nationalcenterformobilitymanagement.org/blog/germanys-national-train-pass-a-great-deal-or-still-too-expensive/#:~:text=Currently%2C%20both%20the%20German%20federal,subsidized%20the%20pass%20even%20more.
No, you are wrong, his point is still flawed and pointless and the link you posted is also flawed and deceptive.

Your link is about the government giving out passes to ease economic pressures and inflation-induced hardship which has nothing to do with profitability.

We did the same thing here in Nigeria when we issued transportation discounts to ease the pains of subsidy removal, it has nothing to do with profitability and as we speak the German rail system remains profitable and growing regardless of passes.

The keyword here is profitability.

In America, the train system is the most profitable industry in America, even ahead of real estate.

Nigerians are not rich enough to want train

The train we should be building is the narrow gauge locomotive train to move goods around

Lagos port to North, East and South... Lagos to Abuja

For mainly goods transport
Governments only support and subsidize unprofitable businesses, not massively profitable rail systems like Deutsche Bahn which rakes in €56.3bn in profits.

The company's profit grew by 19% and made €56.3bn and you still want us to believe that it's not profitable and it's still being subsidized.

You are not making any sense, stick to lying.

Train services is subsidized everywhere. Government all around the globe make loss on train. DeutschBahn (Germany rail service), for instance has been posting a loss consistently for 10 years.
Which Deutsche Bahn are you talking about? Must be the one you fabricated with your lies and poor knowledge of railway systems.

Deutsche Bahn is not only experiencing a major boom in railway service but also making major profits year after year and their revenue increased by a whopping 19.1% to €56.3bn.

And the railroads are the most profitable industry in the USA.

Lebanese folks teach classes in Lebanon on how to enter Nigeria, start a business, and make money, folks from other countries are looking at the vast opportunities in Nigeria and they are rushing to Nigeria to tap the opportunities and make money while some blind and out of focus Nigerian cry and moan about Lebanese people and other foreigners are taking over in Nigeria.

Foreigners see the business opportunities that Nigerians don't' see opportunities in Nigeria.

The Japa people are free to Japa, but the hard work and taxes they don't want to work and pay in Nigeria, they always do it 10 X just to survive abroad and at the end of the day, they end up sending money to Nigeria to keep Nigeria going.

Last year alone, Japa people sent over $21 Billion to Nigeria, they are a top source of revenue for Nigeria.

Basically, if you don't feel like staying in Nigeria to better Nigeria, japa and send your japa money to Nigeria, it's a win win situation for Nigeria.

Some Nigerians are worth more to Nigeria when they japa than to be here in Nigeria, unproductive, wailing and attacking Nigeria for their own failures and inability to apply themselves.
