Was "Aje ni Iya mi" as successful as "Living in Bondage"?If it was,how come "Living in Bondage" gets all the credit all the time? huh
Every issue in Nigeria always come down to a tribal tug-of-war. "Living in Bondage" is inarguably the movie that changed the Nigeria movie industry to what it is today. The "Aje" movie may have been successful, but the impact of "Living in Bondage" is unrivaled.
IslamRe: Muslims: What's Your Favorite Ayah Or Surah In The Quran? by Idekeson(m): 5:23pm On Jul 29, 2006
babyosisi:
surah 47.

4. Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah.s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.
Hmmmm. Strong motivation for zealots.

TravelRe: First Time Visitor To Nigeria by Idekeson(m): 5:18pm On Jul 28, 2006
Like many have advised you, if you have Nigerian contacts, It's best to stick to their plans for you. It's never a good idea playing cowboy on your first visit anywhere in the world. If you don't already have one, arrange for an escort to handle your trip and you're sure to have a blast. Enjoy your visit.
PoliticsRe: Funsho Williams, PDP Lagos State Governor-to-be, Killed! by Idekeson(m): 4:59pm On Jul 28, 2006
The Attorney General of Nigeria was murdered with no clues!!!

That was the end of Security and Justice in Nigeria. Bola Ige was a highest ranking official in government, should I remind all huh Maybe when the Vice President or even the President is murdered in his bedroom, we may start appreciating how hopeless the Nigeria situation has become.

PoliticsRe: How Do We Choose Our Leaders For 2007? by Idekeson(m): 12:26am On Jul 25, 2006
You can't choose anybody, it's a selection process. Unless you're ready to dismantle the status quo. It will take a lot of sacrifice and heads must roll.
TV/MoviesRe: How Many Of You Saw Ini Edo On The Cnn? by Idekeson(m): 4:48pm On Jul 24, 2006
ontheair:
NO BIG DEAL SEEING INI ON CNN ANYMORE IS IT? It would have been news if it was on some more credible and authentic news leaders like ABC, FOX or NBC.
ON CNN? Common anyone can get on CNN nowadays especially after they open up their bureau in LAGOS, it takes just a few bucks and bingo! you are on.
Most likely, the organisers of the event paid for it and they just crash in on that story _ killing 2 birds with one stone!
That "BUSH" isn't it anymore.
Good for her though she has been seen across africe like she could have, if she had appeared on AIT!
Realise that the CNN you watch down there in west africa is different from the one shown in some other parts of the world and GOD help her that edition will be recommended for broadcast on other CNN channels across the world.
I would rather love to see her appear on CHANNELS than that overtly government apologetic channel that crowns itself as the news leader.
Just wonder what people like WALTER CRONKITE would say when CNN comes to AMERICA to pronounce that it is the news leader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please Guys Lets plug into the real news leader like ABC, NBC, FOXXXXXXXX or even CHANNELS and AIT!
huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh huh
Are you high on something? Why all these uncalled-for rambling about CNN. Are you one of the ultra-right Fox apologists? Fair and Balanced bullshit!!!

You have to spell correctly here. It is not an option, it's a rule. Nigerians should learn to respect rules.
Mr. Admin.
It'll be nice to enforce your spell-check across the board especially some of our London based folks and their annoying slangs. huh
Christianity EtcRe: Ogboni Frat by Idekeson(m): 2:59am On Jul 21, 2006
Ogboni is just a cult. Like every cult, the secrecy of their activities makes them feared and all kinds of imaginary powers attributed to them. Due to our voodoo based culture, such stories can be really compelling and believable. Do they engage in ritual murders? Sure, like most cults in Africa. The fact remains that no amount of ritual can guarantee economic power or any power for that matter. There are always benefits that naturally flow from such cults, especially if the members happen to be influential in the community. Some of these benefits may translate into economic gains for members. There is no magic wand to wave for cash. It's all in the mind.

Memorable Quotes from
Goodfellas (1990)

Tommy DeVito: Sure, mom, I settle down with a nice girl every night, then I'm free the next morning.
=================================================================
Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little bleeped up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

Nairaland GeneralRe: Are You A Thinker Or A Feeler? by Idekeson(m): 1:47am On Jul 20, 2006
My whole existence flows from my ancestors, so all my decision depends on what the Oracle says. I neither think nor feel. Too much stress and less efficient. I simply follow divination. It's been great so far.
