Fasting and Praying are spiritual activities that most religious belief system imbibe and perform from time to time. The word of God teaches us to do it.

Fasting as defined by Wikipedia is a willing abstinence or reduction from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time, while prayer is simply defined as an act of communicating with God.

Many at times, people spending time just talking without a feedback, but it cannot be communication except there is a response. While other use the opportunity to ask all manner of things from the creator.

Fasting and prayers is usually done for a purpose, hence if not done correctly, it amounts to nothing. For a christian, Jesus gave an instruction with regards fasting as he observed the attitude of some, so He said, “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” – Matthew 6:16-18 (NIV)

Here are some reasons to fast as you are led by the spirit – for God’s intervention, Repentance, Guidance and help making important decisions, Expression of love and worship to God, Spiritual strength. Overcoming temptation and dedicating yourself to God, and for Discipline.
Fasting and Praying purposefully – Many just abstain from food and spend little or no time in prayers and communication with the creator, I would rather advise you plan to pray for 15 minutes every 3 hours, than just stay without food and no prayers.

Pastor Chris shares some tips for Christians when they fast,

Bring your spirit to a calm – Pastor said, Don’t talk too much, if you are always talking you may not hear God. Learn to be quiet. This is especially not the time to hang out with friends, it is the Time to ‘PLAN’ AND PREPARE FOR YOUR FUTURE.
Don’t move around too much – Pastor says It’ll joggle your spirit unnecessarily. Learn to be in a place, this is not the time to play ball. Keep your body and senses in a place.

Speak tongues (pray in the spirit) under your breath from time to time, every so often. Pastor has shown us that this helps to channel your thoughts to Jesus, and helps keep you from making Major mistakes. It also prepares you for the next.

Give the Holy Spirit your quiet time – Spend time with the word Pastor has shown us that this is so important. Don’t joke with your Rhapsody;use the one year reading plan to study the Bible. If you have been watching films since you got home, please for the sake of your future, go the next few days without it,or drastically reduce it. *Get gospel tapes and books, surround yourself with the word.
So BOMBARD your system with the word that it fills you to overflow. IT WILL “MAKE YOU WHAT IT TALKS ABOUT”.

Fast and Pray Indeed – Fast from TV, fast from food as pastor has said, fast from friends, even fast from your device. By this I mean, remove them from your focus, remember, you have a world to frame, and a future to take. Pastor has taught us that to do this we must give the word “undivided” attention; it has to be number 1 in your life. Everything else can come later.

Finally, be full of gratitude and give thanks profusely, for He is Love. Jesus is Love. The grateful and thankful one is granted more.

Also singing in the choir was Lieutenant-General Oladipo Diya (rtd.), a former military vice president of Nigeria under the late General Sani Abacha regime.
The past leaders sang lustily and with great emotion to a rousing applause from the audience who watched the performance.

After the song, the leaders, gave thanks to God and hoped for divine help to save the country from the current ‘mess’ as they described it.

Everyone's been asking when I will get married and I know I'm not alone in this. I need to settle down as a matter of seriousness. To do this, I have looked at the season we are in and came up with a list that will help single ladies like me to walk down the aisle with their Prince in shining armour or shining monkey coat , suit... All join.

Ready to tie the knot?
Here's the checklist:
*Travel to your hometown :
If you haven't done this already and you're still in the city by this time, run home! Have you not heard that it is only a yeye person who repeatedly do the same thing and expect a different result? You've been in the city since January till now yet no serious bachelor is on your case, it is time to leave that zone down to where things are happening. Put aside your fear, nobody will kill you and if they do, remember, 'something must kill a man!'

* At the first crow of the co.ck, Jump up!
Don't tell me the cold is too much, harmattan is not foreign to us and don't you dare say you're not an early riser. No excuses! If a silly co.ck decides to crow at 2am, then that's wake up time. Stand up, move out, and start sweeping the village. The village, not your father's house. Village first! The old women are watching.

* Greet Everything and Everyone in &out of sight
Nothing like 'I don't like to greet people'. Stop that attitude! Many people have greeted strangers and got solid husbands from simple 'Good morning Sir/Ma'. It will open doors for your pre-wedding photos, don't say you weren't told!

* Be on the Lookout!
Don't sit at home.
'I am an introvert! I am an introvert!' Really? Wipe your mouth. There's no such word in the vocabulary of prospective brides. Places to Go? Stadium. That's where they go. I mean men them. Church/mosque. You'll meet their parents. Parties. You'll meet their siblings. Don't dull yourself my sister.

* Run Errands
If you fail in all the others, don't fail in this. In the house (family home) be the housegirl. In the compound, be the eldest mama's favorite. Carry firewood from mama's head including waterpots. Show them how homely you are.

* Play with Children
I almost forgot this. Very Very important Miss Spinster, play with children in the afternoon. Play hide and seek with them. Buy them biscuit and minerals. Cook and share. Carry all the new born babies and please, make sure they pee on you. I heard their urine is blessing . What oil could not do, urine can do. Receive the blessing before leaving.
