PoliticsRe: David Cameron Visits Nigeria by ideylaff: 1:41pm On Jul 19, 2011
The last point first- Our people become richer we will not need to become illegal immigrants, as for the poor Brit society will take of him or her so no need to become an illegal immigrant.

Asian used technology and cheap labour to build a manufacturing base, Nigeria and Africa have both raw materials and manpower we can't we build our own factories? and we get upset when other people build them for us, Lebanese, Indian , Israeli, instead immigration, customs, local govt, press, etc will continue to harass these foreign entrepreneurs - when we make our country so difficult to carry out business only the worst die-hard entrepreneur will come (it's takes 48 hours and the equivalent of N5000 to register a ltd company in UK, in Nigeria it takes 3 months and costs close to N150k, whose fault is this? Cameron and his trade mission?)

we should stop looking accusingly at people who are looking for business but rather find a away to grow our own business, colonial mentality has nothing to do with it. he only people with colonial mentality are those Nigeria Civil Servants still shifting one file to other like 50 years ago.
Bless you my bro @ blacksta, TO TRUE, FACT, WELL SAID and PRESENTED,

To add a few points to ponder on for those in the camp of blaming the colonial masters,

1. Cameron flies in on BA, (GEJ) Flies around on a fleet of Private Jets,  6 to 7 in his fleet, (Big Man Of Africa with nothing to show 4 it)

2. We take stolen money and take it outside the country, (have they forced us to bring it there, show me a person 4rm the UK bringing stolen money in to Nigerian Market

3. When the refineries were breaking down, was it the colonial master who ran them down, and made sure we import oil 4 ever/

4. The amount of energy generating outputs within Nigeria and Africa as a whole is more than what is obtained in Europe, have we tapped into it NO

5. When we had Airlines and ran them down, was it the colonial master who did this, NO

6. When we had Ajaokuta, and invited the Russians to bring 2nd hand/dilapidated equipment over to run it, was it the colonial master doing this NO

7.  When our corrupt men steal own very own money and buy houses they don't even live in abroad, (is that the colonial master again)

8. when we watch our hospitals run down and then ignore the experts working there till they capital flight away themselves to countries abroad,  (is this again the colonial masters fault, ) NO

9. Was it the colonial master who ran the Pyramids of the North aground, Palm Oil, Bitumen and all natural resources we had and have failed to harness

Yes they have a part to play but we are the ones who have rubbed our very own selves in Palm oil and now running towards the fire, and blaming them

If we developed in the right way and had the right leaders and mindset, we will be bargaining like Japan and China bargain with the West cos we have a good stance and leg to stand on,  Even ordinary call centre.4 any global conglomerate, nobody don set up 4 Nigeria and they all run to India,  is this their fault again

Even the yeye Oil whey we get , Na OPEC dey control us apart from bunkering

what a people, with a pathetic case we are as a Nation, 21st century and we still cannot see that Charity begins at home,

instead na so so seminar, talk , conference, trade mission with nobody writing or learning anything except calculator to calculate Estacode for the
foreign trip,

IN NIgeria you have Seminars like " How to fix Flood" "Oil in Nigeria, 50 years still flowing" "Power Process in 2011. Nigeria" " Vision 20/20" "OFN", everybody with a slogan and a banner and NO ACTION YEARr after YEAR     shio, what a shame,

@ideylaff: you truly make me laugh.
My man, if it makes you feel better that Mike Adenuga is poor, so be it.

Instead of all this hate, why no just ask your father where he was and what he was doing when Mike was making all this money?

Whether you like it or not, Mike will continue to cap big things all over the world while you and your people continue to get more headaches.
@ zomby,,,why did u have to go so so so so so so so so low and show your level of upbringing to mention my fathers name in this issue.

Where in here did this thread warrant that, no one is begrugging Mike 4 any reason, the argument was that his level of wealth is not as reported,

was there any need to add my father to it.

I'm really ashamed with the level of mannerism you have displayed over a simple thread like this.

People like you are a disgrace to the society if I may add. what a mannerless Person you truly are,

You dont know who I am and I see no reason for my dad to be added to this thread. Please Please Please, shocked angry embarassed

Please dont put fingers into my throat, I am a well brought up and respectable person but every human being has a break point

Just because you have a laptop,or key board and mouse dont mean you should display the manners of a tout on-line.

For the record, GLO belongs to Mike 100%, Conoil 75%, worldspan 100%, ETB also 100%.
No outstanding loans,or any partners.

ETB was taken away from him for exactly 3 days.
It took that long for CBN/Sanusi to realize the economy downfall that was about to take place if the bank wasn't returned right away.

98% of almost 500 ETB buildings belongs to Mike, over 2000 ETB official cars belong to this man and 90% of the dough in ETB's acct also belongs to him.

First, they can never be successful taking the bank away from Mike.
Second, if they're successful how do they plan to operate when every single machinery, building and so on belong to mike?.
And then finally, if they're successful taking the bank, who exactly are they going to hurt? Definitely, isn't going to be Mike Adenuga.
ETB also 100% >>>>LOL and Central Bank is picking his board for him, go and find out the fella has the biggest debt book within the bank, how can you be borrowing yourself other peoples money with within your own set terms while the bank is a public bank, common on, no call Dog monkey 4 us here oooo.
If you try so hard we will post more of Mikes Financials on here , 4 u 2 understand that the bottom of wealth is not all it seems to be like

So you have 4gotten Ribadu unraveled the rest of GLO share holders a while ago,

Probe my bottom. Anybody that allows himself to be decieved by this was either not here for the last Assembly or has a short memory.

The question we need to ask is what happened to all the previous probes our impotent NA has ever conducted.

I'll tell you:
1. They constitute a probe committee whose job is to collect travel allowances travelling all over the country looking at things they know absolutely zero about.
2. They start soliciting and receiving bribes from the affected companies.
3. Zero report, nobody gets punished.
4. If we are lucky the EFCC will start an endless case of corruption against members of the probe panel - 4 years hence, while they enjoy their carefully orchestrated looting.

Remember you heard it here first - it is a prophecy.

It really doesn't look like this Ajimobi guy has anything in package for the people of Oyo state. I think this is the same old "Blame-it-on-the former-administration game. They all use the first 1 year to "Investigate" the former administration, run to the press and castigate them. Use the second year to do all their own looting. Use the 3rd year for some fleamsy looting oriented project and the 4th year for no-enough-time campaign/last looting oriented projects. We are tired of this style of governance.

Someone please tell him to start working instead of blaming the former administration. You've not even started anything and you're blaming your failure or someone else already.
GBAM, thanks for that @ playboy19

also thanks to @ MeGaStReEt , @ naijababe, @ Tony , @ dami_paul, @ Talkyaown and all other contributors tro this thread,

We are not saying Ajimobi should not probe, but 4 a Governor to be whining 24/7 while the people need action is not a good start to his tenure,

In fact its better not to talk about Akala till he's caught in the net, that way he won't be doing his God father night moves to cover his tracks,

Can't you see the difference between criticism and condemnation, so once u criticise it means the person is totally bad,

Does Obama not have his own short comings, so why are you taking this so personal as per Fashola,

I have his phone numbers, we talk now and again on issues and personal things, I am one of the

Stop talking rubbish, all the new roads in Lagos state have drainage and sidewalk. By law, you can not construct any road in Lagos without both.

Educate yourself before talking trash,

These are new roads and they all have drainage systems,
These are new roads and they all have drainage systems,

Please educate us @ eko ile, what is the definition of a drainage system

1. Please don't tell me its a deep dug trench that stretches to the end of a street and then pours into the adjoining one, please don't.

B4 u start talking of a drainage system on here, get a proper understanding of what  a drainage system is, cos I think u don't

its got nothing to do with how deep the trench is dug, at all,

9ja drainage system with no terminus/terminal for the waste, not connecting anywhere, tell me now if Sanusi Fafunwa waste links anywhere to any road,

stop making Lagos look like some developed city, please,

u wont find a dead body lying on d side road for days in a place that has a good environmental system, would you ?lipsrsealed

Please be easy on me for exposing your ignorance

making the most noise don't mean the most sense, hop u know that b4 u start to call people all sorts of names like u usually do,

Drainage system. LOL, in a city where they are using lantern to construct roads at night, while the Oyinbos are busy Lounging in Sheraton and the God father has already taken his bulk share of the road money, issshhh

Can we also deal with NOW and not blame any past Government, Fashola is responsible for Lagos now, not Jakande, also the revenue bn generated now is astronomical in figure, if managed well it will go a long way,

Drainage system don't mean rocket science system,, a University Graduate can design a simple one and workable process

we just happen to like to do seminars, talk talk and no action

I'm waiting for a banner like "HOW TO DEAL WITH LAGOS FLOOD IN THE 21ST CENTURY" with the whole Ministry staff sitting round a table smiling for network news and also drinking tea and coffee and eating food for a week. with no action after that, thats the norm, tok talk talk,

Olusegun Aganga, Nigeria’s former finance minister, took up a new position today as trade and investment minister in President Goodluck Jonathan’s Cabinet, the ministry said in an e-mailed statement.
Aganga’s job at the new ministry is to attract private investment to help grow the economy of Africa’s most populous country of more than 150 million people, according to the statement.

I'm betting on him to flop again. I have no faith in this fellow, he made some schoolboy errors on his last appointment. Well, you would not expect much more from someone with a degree in Biological Sciences and Theology
Well, you would not expect much more from someone with a degree in Biological Sciences and Theology
@ 2bosun That's not a nice thing to say about those disciplines, whats wrong with a degree in Biological Sciences and Theology, the fella made it to the top @ Investment Bank, which means he has substance but might not have the where with all to handle a complex country like Nigeria and the polity of a Political setting, thats haba,

The Guy goofed @ the senate hearing, yes he did, but hey, the fella was Finance Minister during an election. (the most pressured situation), you think its that easy to say NO to PDP when they come up with all their mago mago we need money within the system for this and that,

You have to be able to play the game smartly and diplomatically, that is another area Aganga failed in,

Apart from that our finances are not that complex to run, trust me,  we make it look like rocket science, its not,

CUT CORRUPTION, REDUCE OVERHEADS WITHIN THE CENTRE/SLASH RED TAPE and BUREAUCRATIC.OFFICES, LASTLY ENCOURAGE AND GENUINELY BOOST SME'S  (Small Medium Enterprise -THE DRIVERS OF A DEVELOPING NATION) AND NOT JUST with lip service attention/uncontrolled seminars and presentations,  simple AS

Even a 2nd year Economics graduate can offer that advice , without batting an eyelid.

An Okonjo Iweala situation, is not really a jump up and dance alleluia  solution in my opinion, if we dont fix all the above ,she will be working 4 steps forward and 3 steps backwards, till her tenure runs out.

The World Bank runs itself, whether you have an expert at the helm of the affairs or not Harvard or Not, so I don't see why the party over Okonjo is all about,  Okonjo was purely administrative, if you follow her career path,

That's why in her last stint, it was always PowerPoint Presentations, session after session, was in a few of them and I thought, madam, I've seen this b4, we need the basics, simplified that will impact the lives of people on a daily basis, no need for IMF to tell us that we are going to
grow 1, 3 or 5 % this year, we know the things to do, if we do them right, we will grow, and we have the population factor on our side as a plus

GOD help us,

In fact my fear is that she does not follow what the are taught @ Harvard + IMF + Worl Bank, to the letter,  "Deliver more countries into our hands for the bondage to contuinue, or we make the markets difficult for you to survive in,  lipsrsealed

Shame we do more imports than export so we have nothing to brag with like China or Japan, what can we flood the market with as a bargaining chip,  Dangotes Cement, or Noodles,  LOL,

Goodluck to both Okonjo and Aganga, cos their roles are very important in shaping out future,  May the vultures in Aso allow them to function.right, AMEN

Im yet to understand why people love this woman soo much. What difference has her influence or the WB reflection of Nigerias economy, made to each of your lives individually?
What new developments have u noticed that can be directly connected to herself or improvement of the nation?
Excessive media hype- How much are they going to pay her? How much of Nigeria will Nigerians own after shes done?

The country has only just started!! you all have no idea!
Thank you my bro ooooo,

Who was the last MD of the World Bank, eeehn, duh, lipsrsealed no one remembers, right, that tells you that role is just a pen pushing/red tape  administrative role, that we Nigerians glorify like we sing and dance Harvard, MIT once its on a CV.

I don't begrudge Ngozi for what she has achieved, but can we stop over hyping this role as if, it the same as bn The Finance Minister of a country,

since when has the world bank mad a difference to a countries life, other than make it worse,

Goodluck to her for giving it a go once again, but I'm just curious what impact she can make with those vultures in Aso still @ the helm of the affairs of the country.
