At about 9am this morning I received a call from this number 08068941992 informing me of a training in one of the WhatsApp group which I belong to. The caller then told me to hang on for a while to receive a confirmation code for the training. I received the code 737-685 and sent it back to him, he thanked me and promised to call me by 5pm to remind me of the training.

Few minutes later I tried to login to WhatsApp without success. I deleted the app and downloaded a new one but I can't login with my number. That's when it dawned on me that my WhatsApp has been hacked. I have contacted support center but they are of no help.

I went and reported to Police and made a statement.

PLEASE my people, what can I do to prevent them from using my Identity to commit crime.

Uninstalling and installing can’t solve this, from your narratives, I think the hacker has already changed the number from yours to his/hers and probably set up the 2-step verification which you didn’t and the result being you hacked so easily. That account is a goner! I advice you get a new number and register another WhatsApp account immediately, then send a broadcast to all your contacts before it’s too late. Also, if your contacts are mindful individuals, on opening your chat they will receive a notification that you recently changed your WhatsApp number. This notification and the broadcast from the new WhatsApp account will definitely bring them up to speed.

The same phone that will cause an accident cos a driver was distracted by it will also be used to call 911 emergency by another driver when this same accident occurs. It’s such a no brainer! Make sure drivers using google map have their phones affixed not handheld and also an auxiliary cable to car speakers. I mean these things shouldn’t be a problem, jeez! Every gps device comes with a screen to direct and also a voice to aid in directing the user to avoid distraction of looking at the screen while driving and so does google map, which you can also connect with an auxiliary cable to your car speaker to make it loud. Maybe you are confusing it for gps tracker or just like I mentioned earlier you really do not think things through before making a comment.

At the risk of sounding like one of them, I have to agree I consider the use of GPS a distraction (more about the way we use it). So many times I have entered cabs and the driver would stare at his phone for seconds to get the route. I get really uncomfortable in those few seconds. Few times they look up and make sharp swerves.

However, I do not think the problem should be the use of GPS in its entirety. The problem should be the use of handheld devices and its resultant inattentive driving. I would prefer a situation where it can be set before driving and on speaker too. This is a better option, since so many persons would rather not hang their phones.

They issued a statement to this effect recently. You can look it up, juxtapose it with your situation and know if your case can be appealed.

Ma’am You don’t have to look at your phone, google map has a voice assistance feature, by connecting with an auxiliary cord, you tend to hear the direction from you car speak, so loud and clear. So how about cars with imbedded gps on their dashboards? Google map on using while driving will warn you to keep your eyes on the road and don’t get distracted by it. This is absolute bullocks! People die from plane crash accident but that does not totally nullifies it good aspect thereby making air travel to be banned. What needs to be enforced here is the use of auxiliary cable with the google map while driving.
