Dollarseeker: I am a die hard Peter Obi fan but guys Peter Obi is not your next president. I want him to be president but he won't be president because the election of 2023 will end in court for a final verdict. The court will proclaim either Tinubu or Atiku as the Winner.
Your next president is either Tinubu or Atiku and it will be the court that will affirm it. ohh you think a Buhari court would say Peter Obi won? Never. The court will do what Buhari secretly want...either to see Atiku wins or Tinubu.
The only thing that can change this from happening is if Peter Obi visits Mbaka and he prays and Endorse him or prophesy that he is the next president, if not.
SORRY.
PETER OBI WILL LOSE TO EITHER ATIKU OR TINUBU AND IT WILL COME FROM A FINAL BLOW FROM THE COURT.
I have analyse my informations. Also, a deep revelation and understanding came into my mind before coming up with this post.
So Nigerians make una brace up to see either Atiku or Tinubu as your president.
The bolded explains the inherent idiocy embodied by the poster of above junk. If you moronically knew Peter Obi will not win the election, you should have moronically and emphatically mentioned the would-be winner instead of the silly "Your next president is either Tinubu or Atiku".
“I spent well over three weeks in my hometown this holiday season. Throughout that stay, my consciousness played games with me: my heart entreated me to stay put, while my mind urged me to bolt as quickly as I could. If I followed my mind I would have bade goodbye to my village just 4 days after arrival! But I stayed put for over three weeks of deep reflections and valuable introspection.
The southeast as I used to know it has changed monumentally; and not for the better! Currently, the region is essentially an approximation of Thomas Hobbes’ ‘The State Of Nature’ , where life is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short’. Hobbes contends that individuals in a state of nature are not constrained by moral or legal obligations, as nothing can be unjust since the notions of right and wrong, justice and injustice have no place there.
To me, a lot of things in the southeast don’t make sense any more. The region used to be a model for egalitarianism. Not any more! It used to be a place for great academic pursuit, dialectical exposition and the repository for free thinking. Not any more! It was a champion of republicanism, individualism, free association and free thinking. Not any more! The southeast was a region where logic informed action, where faith was a guide for human relationships and where belief in God was the ultimate virtue. Again, not any more!
For a people so intellectually imbued and so stubbornly assertive, it is shocking how meekly and easily we succumbed to a rule by the mob. The southeast is arguably, irretrievably, descending into fascism - reminiscent in many ways of Nazi Germany, where the worship of a cult personality was a national creed. In the case of the southeast, the last five years saw the emergence of one such cult personality. However, less than six months ago, cult figures rose to two. As a general rule, you oppose, criticize or castigate either of them at your own great peril. It’s considered heresy, a taboo, to speak ill of them. If you habored uncomplimentary opinions about either, your life insurance provider would quickly advise you to be extremely cautious in expressing them in public. The people of the southeast have become violently intolerant of opinions at variance with their’s. But, no one must overlook the contradiction in a people supporting two cult figures: one crusading to take the region out of Nigeria; the other intent on ruling Nigeria itself.
And there are other contradictions in today’s southeast that are well worth their weight in dissonance. The people loudly and ceremoniously profess christianity but worship money as the real god. It doesn’t matter what or who you are (an elder, upright man, industrious, wise, diligent, trustworthy, accomplished, erudite, a teacher or caregiver), you are nobody if you are not rich with money. Money is the universal king:- at the family gatherings, village associations, church meetings, town squares, church homilies, even the order of Holly Communions. You are nothing without money. As the saying goes, you could not possibly be considered a wise man if you are not wise enough to make money. The means to money is not important, only the end result. Money!!
Southeast towns and villages are dotted with princely mansions; the roads are clustered with fabulous limousines and SUVs. But on current savagery, those perks might as well be described as the entrapments of death. Because fancy automobiles and stately mansions have recently been known to be littered with many a gruesomely decapitated corpse. It is a brave man indeed who reads the goings-on in the social media and still ventures into the region. Nowadays, the ‘big boys’ have devised a truly ludicrous and laborious way to spend ‘holiday’ at home. They show up encircled by battle ready soldiers and policemen, their entourage arranged in convoys of siren blaring troop carriers, the big man’s limousines sandwiched in between. Road users who have the impudence to be on the roads are shoved aside, while hapless villagers scamper at the display of crude show of power. Courtiers are on hand to hail the presence of ‘odogwu’, and ubiquitous ‘men of god’ proclaim the great service the illustrious son is performing in God’s vineyard! One thing is clear, without a doubt: unknown gunmen have made sure that, as far as the southeast is concerned, it is no longer ‘holiday’ as usual!
The southeast is fast emerging as a classic banana republic (a tongue in cheek expression seeing that even bananas are no longer affordable there). The most enterprising region in Africa has somehow contracted to have the highest cost of living. By the machinations of terrorist gangs, kidnappers, cultists, armed robbers and, yes, sit-at-home injunctions, the GDP of the region has plummeted. Fewer days of commercial and business activities have meant lower productivity, higher cost of labor, elevated cost of living, higher fuel prices, spiked transportation costs and general angst.
For a people acclaimed for gallantry from civil war exploits, the current cowardice in the face of rampaging criminality is not just baffling, it’s humiliating. Gunmen demand ransom to allow functions go ahead. WhatsApp sit-at-home orders or rumors of them attract blanket obidience - markets are shuttered, transporters park their vehicles, banks lock their doors, and streets are deserted. There is no will nor courage to challenge the crippling orders.
Few years ago, gunmen were wildly feted in the region based on the assertion that they were needed to protect the zone against religious invaders whose mission would be to emasculate and enslave the Igbos. This is of course nonsense, which exposed a more profound contradiction. How can a people so informed, so travelled and shrewd, act on a propaganda so stupid and so at odd with reality. At any rate, what manner of a savior will first subjugate and kill their own people in order to protect them against an invader?!
Driving from Awka in Anambra State to Enugu, I encountered 3 checkpoints mounted by local gangs. They were gracious to let private motorists (like me) go through, but extorted commercial vehicles and trucks. No one dared to complain or resist. Bands of locally minted criminals routinely kill and maim at will, and get away with their heinous acts. The southeast is being tyrannized by the mob, decimated by armed gangs and ruled by hoodlums. The police are on AWOL! As a citizen, you’re on your own.
The Nigerian southeast is in “The State Of Nature” - the hypothetical way of life envisaged by the British political philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, before people organized themselves into lawful societies. The big question is, how long will it take the southeast to return to a “State of Law”? And civility?
Copied
The above post is a compound of idiocy displayed by a borderline dumbass. If your hometown is a replica of what "Thomas Hobbes’ stated as "The State of Nature", I say fine to your hometown, but Southeast region as you foolishly attempted to paint. Most contributors to nairaland hailed from southeast region and the description you assigned to your hometown is arguably different from the descriptions of their individual hometowns. The worse circumstance of Nigeria was found along the road from Port Harcourt to the boundary point between Imo State and Rivers State. I had wished the inherent cowardice in you allowed the mention of your imaginary village in southeast region of Nigeria.
The attitude of certain Nigerian politicians must change with respect to flaunting of stolen fund. The so-called politician's behaviors do not attract sympathy of any kind.

Tinubuadvocate: To be sincere I'm not sure if igbo man can manage our diversity or add more progressive to our diversity. We have seen what igbo man can offer us from first republic and military era too.
Let us talk about some leadership skills that some past igbo men that have privilege to governed the country possessed .
Nnamdi Azikiwe popularly known as Zik of Africa. This man leadership can be described as a disastrous a very treacherous and hypocritical man. This man assumed the leadership of Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) of which a Yoruba man was formed by Harbert macaulay in 1929 after his demised. Few months after the death of macaulay Zik Changed the name of the Party to National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons NCNC this move not go down well with Awolowo and this led to the birth of Action Party.
Toward the preparation of general election zik met AHMODU BELLO and both agreed to merge their political party together in other to defeat Awolowo the same zik contest for western Nigeria premier and he deliberately ignored his region and come and control Yoruba people.
The same zik caused the post election violence in western Nigeria and he asked the prime minister to declare state of emergency in southwest.the same zik caused the separation of midwestern from western Nigeria because of jealous and other thing.
Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi leadership This man is a destroyer in facts his reign as a head of state is a big mistake to this country up till now even despite the regime n't lasted. Johnson met a good structure and killed it introduce unitary government just because his region aren't bringing anything to the table then north is thriving with Their agriculture same thing also goes to southwest.
Johnson instigate the Nigeria civil war
To be continue ...............
An idiotic statement from the hollow brain of ill-informed dumbass Nigerian. In fact, the entire post is a compound waste as the replica of poster.
Biodun556: NAN reports that this is the second time the agency would be rejecting Innoson’s vehicles due to either non-compliance with specifications or mechanical fault.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has demanded the immediate replacement of a new bus supplied to the agency by Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Limited. The demand was made in a letter the agency despatched to Innoson even as it expressed regrets over the patronage of Made-in-Nigeria vehicles.
The letter dated 16 January and signed by the agency’s Principal Legal Officer, Mojirola Eniola, stated in part:
“Following the failure of your organisation to meet our demands for the evacuation and replacement of the faulty 30-seater bus (IVM6751) supplied to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) within seven (7) days of the receipt of our letter dated January 6, 2023, we have been left with no choice but to return the vehicle to your premises.”
NAN reports that this is the second time the agency would be rejecting the company’s vehicles due to either non-compliance with specifications or mechanical fault.
In line with the Buhari administration’s admonition to patronise local industries, the agency had some time in 2021 approached the motor vehicle plant to supply it with a 30-seater bus for its workers.
The agency had paid Innoson the sum of N49.5 million, including taxes, for the purchase of the bus on 17 November 2021.
Trouble, however, started when the company on 16 November 2021, delivered a 30-seater bus that was not in line with the specifications it reached with the Agency.
The agency promptly rejected the bus and directed its solicitors to demand a replacement in line with the agreed specifications.
Atiku-Okowa AD
In its 1 February 2022 letter to Innoson through its solicitors, the agency demanded a replacement within 14 days or face legal action.
Responding to the threat, Innoson in a letter dated 14 February 2022, apologised to NAN for the inconvenience it had caused the Agency.
“We want to use this medium to apologise to your client (NAN) for any inconvenience that they may have experienced due to their complaint,” the letter signed by a director, Jonas Ojukwu, said.
Mr Ojukwu, who in the letter claimed that his company does not sell refurbished vehicles, promised to replace the rejected vehicle.
“We will bring in a replacement brand new Innoson 30-seater bus to your client (News Agency of Nigeria) before the fourteen (14) days that you stated from the date of receipt of your letter and we shall retrieve the one supplied before now.
“We want to assure you that our business relationship will not be thwarted by any form of dissatisfaction for our desire is to serve our customers to the best of their satisfaction,” Mr Ojukwu stated.
In spite of the assurances in Mr Ojukwu’s correspondence, the replacement vehicle delivered to NAN on 8 April 2022 only worsened the agency’s transportation woes as it was dogged by successive mechanical faults.
Before the eventual evacuation of the vehicle to the Innoson Abuja office, the bus had been lying idle on the agency’s premises for several months due to mechanical faults.
The Agency’s Head of Technical Department, Aaron Miller, said the vehicle since delivery had been permanently grounded due to a faulty gearbox.
He said several appeals made to the Innoson Abuja office to evacuate the vehicle for repairs were ignored.
“We made several representations to them to repair this faulty gearbox all to no avail.
“On the three occasions their technicians showed up to ostensibly repair the vehicle, the problems persisted, causing embarrassment to the agency, ” he said.
Frustrated by the vehicle company’s noncommittal response in evacuating the vehicle, the agency issued another seven-day ultimatum to Innoson Abuja office in a letter dated 6 January.
This was to be followed by a final notice in a 16 January letter and the eventual towing of the faulty vehicle to the Abuja premises of Innoson on Tuesday after the company reneged on its pledge to evacuate the vehicle.
When a NAN correspondent contacted Mr Ojukwu on phone, he said the bus would be repaired.
The action of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the publicity stunt, is a display from moronic dingbat. Anything made by man, even in some cases by almighty, can be faulty.
FreedomfromtheT: I saw a video of popular actor Kanayo O Kanayo urging Igbo people especially those outside Igbo land to stay put and vote for Peter Obi. He reminded them that Igbos have the number although Igbos alone cannot elect the president. He told them that since a lot of non Igbos are supporting Peter Obi, his own kinsmen should follow suit in order to give the former Anambra state governor the needed national spread to win the presidential election scheduled for February 25th this year. What do you think about Kanayo's charge?
The caption of your thread is completely idiotic. An Igbo person cannot be intimidated. The insinuation that kanayo. O. Kanayo encouraged Ndigbo not be intimidated is foolhardy.
thisweekng: After 25 years had passed since his death, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, explained on Wednesday why the late Chief Moshood Abiola (MKO Abiola) could not lead Nigeria.
Thisweekng learned that MKO Abiola was declared the election’s likely victor on June 12, 1993. However, the publisher, businessman, and politician was turned down for the role, and on July 7, 1998, he was killed in Abuja.
Obasanjo stated at an address on Wednesday at a lecture in Ogun State called “Eyin Ni Iwe Wa: You Are Our Epistle” that MKO Abiola could not have become Nigeria’s president thirty years ago because of the deeds of some “bad belle” – (bad people).
The statement was delivered by the former military dictator during the Baptist Boys High School’s centennial celebration in the capital city of Ogun State, Abeokuta. He said that BBHS graduate MKO Abiola was denied his mandate.
Obasanjo asserted that he would not have become the person he is today without the moral values and excellent education he received at BBHS.
He emphasized how Prince Bola Ajibola, the late sage Obafemi Awolowo, and former International Court of Justice (ICJ) judge were all shaped into the people they are today by the school.
Thisweekng learns that Awolowo attended BBHS in 1928, Ajibola graduated in 1955, Abiola was a member of the class of 1956, and Obasanjo left the institution in 1957.
Obasanjo noted that aside from education, the 100-year-old school had, at different times, inculcated godly virtue in all its products.
“Without BBHS, I would not have been what I am,” Obasanjo declared.
The retired general said the BBHS would have had MKO Abiola as another former president apart from him, but “bad belle” prevented him from becoming President.
Obasanjo said, “Today, there are distinguished old boys in all walks of life, i.e., private sector, academia, military and paramilitary, civil society, traditional rulership, etc. Such is the present President of Old Boys Association of BBHS, Prof. Kayode Oyesiku.
“I believe that I must not be too forgetful to leave out yours truly, the son of Obasanjo, a modest war-victorious General and former Military Head of State and former President of Nigeria. Chief M.K.O. Abiola, the first communication industry millionaire in Nigeria and the acclaimed winner of the 1993 Presidential election who was in a class by himself.
“If not for Nigerian bad belle, M.K.O. Abiola would have been President and with me as President, we would have needed one more old student of BBHS to be President for us to permanently locate it in BBHS after three times. And that is a challenge for up-and-coming generations of old boys.”
The octogenarian urged the new generation to preserve the moral virtues and discipline impacted on them by the school and pass it on in perpetuity.
Obasanjo stressed that what all products of BBHS have in common is godly virtue inculcated in them by the School.
“That was education plus. We carry it to anywhere we go as epistle written by BBHS to our families, our communities, our States, our country, and our continent of Africa and indeed our world.
“We must impact with humility, honesty, integrity, wisdom, courage, competence and fear of God – these must continue to be our characteristics and our attributes to make a change for good wherever we are. We must be different,” Obasanjo said.
ochejoseph: Atiku's Leadership Of The Economic Management Team: Oby Ezekwesili Lied - Dr Oche Otorkpa
It was Caesar J. B. Squitti who said that "Human half-truth logic, dates back to Adam and Eve, when he tried to deceive God with a truth, 'we knew we were naked so we hid', leaving God to understand that something was wrong with Adam's logic, because if Adam knew THE TRUTH, he would know that you can't hide from God.
Few days ago, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili failed in an attempt to rewrite history when she joined the league of political hirelings who myopically think that embarrassing H.E Atiku Abubakar with false claims can prevent him from becoming President.
In a tweet posted on her handle, she claimed that Atiku was never the Head of the Economic Management Team as Vice President from 1999-2007. That tweet on its own clearly shows that the woman is either suffering from amnesia or had no idea of what the Nigerian constitution says, if not madam "empirical evidence" would have simply looked at what the constitution says and stop trying to make a fool of herself.
The National Economic Council (NEC) is established by the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended; Section 153(1) and Paragraphs 18 & 19 of Part I of the Third Schedule.
For the sake of those she misled with that whimsical tweet, here is what the Nigerian constitution expressly says about economic management in Nigeria:
Part 1 of third Schedule, paragraphs 18 and 19 of 1999 Nigerian Constitution, as amended, states that there shall be National Economic Council which shall comprise the following members –
(a) the Vice-President who shall be the Chairman; the Governor of each State of the Federation; and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and this Council shall have power to advise the President concerning the economic affairs of the Federation, and in particular on measures necessary for the coordination of the economic planning efforts or economic programmes of the various Governments of the Federation.
Madam ‘beggar with receipt’ can quietly support her tribal candidate without spewing half truths and manipulated facts. Atiku led the economic management team from 1999 till 2007, that team included the current Director-General of the World Trade Organization Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who successfully renegotiated and paid off Nigeria’s entire debt with the Paris Club before the current disaster's in government plunged our unborn children into the biggest debt trap in the history of our country with over ₦70 trillion in debts hanging over our necks.
On the leadership of the economic management team, these were the exact words of Atiku:
“I’m not a messiah. I do not promise Eldorado or $1 = N1, but I always ask that we should look at the economic progress we made under my leadership and what I am doing in private business and judge me by those. As VP, I assembled what is arguably the best economic team ever in Nigeria. It was made up of young, world-class professionals, who came home to work. Some of those professionals are now political leaders, governors and world leaders in their own right.” – Atiku Abubakar.
Thanks to those patriotic efforts, men and women like Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Mr. Kekere Ekun, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Bode Augusto, Ms Ifueko Omoigui and other first class professionals were invited to help grow the Nigerian economy.
Fortunately, many of those in that team are still alive today, and will speak shortly on how Atiku assembled them and the contributions they made for the advancement of the nation's economy.
No amount of mud slinging can stop a man whose time has come, H.E Atiku and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa represents Nigeria's best chance of coming out of the economic doom it has been thrown into by the directionless APC government.
Casting your vote for Peter Obi like Madam Oby and her cohorts are promoting is tantamount to voting for APC because even Peter himself knows he is not going anywhere in next month's Presidential election.
To whom brain is given, sense is required. May God Help Us to Help Ourselves On the 25th of February 2023.
gidgiddy: Stop lying through your teeth. The unification decree said nothing about the revenue of the Regions, the 4 Regions of the time were controlling their resources throughout Ironsi's 6 months in office, infact, Ironsi's only budget of January 1966, was based on the Regions controlling their resources. The unification decree was only about unifying the civil service under one system
What did you Nigerians do when 6 months later, a Hausa man called Murtala Mohammed did his own coup, killed over 300 people, all Southerners, including the military head of state, Ironsi, and Military Governor of the Western Region, Fajuyi?
You Nigerians honoured the bloodthirsty Murtala Mohammed by naming Airports and highways after him and even made him the face of the 20 Naira note
You people only remember that coup is bad if it is connected to Igbos. But if it is connected to Hausa/Fulani, you people will clap and cheer
One of the most idiotic acts played by moronic Nigeria. This action consigned Nigeria as the basket of fools on earth. Murtala Mohammed was a dumbass solider whose incompetence has never been equaled in history of Nigerian armed forces. Murtala Mohammed was one of the reasons January 15, 1966 coup was precipitated. He was a member of bunch of northerners who were not qualified to seat at RMA, Sandhurst, UK. In end, Murtala Mohammed was humbled by a relatively junior cadet who became brigade cadet and graduated with the bunch of cadets from northern region of Nigeria, yet this brigade cadet had one year left.
omonnakoda: can you substantiate the claim that the federal civil service was established by decree? and stop telling irrelevant stories What is the name of the decree and when was it enacted?
Are you this shallow? Issue of discussion is Decree 34 which unified the civil service in Nigeria. Before the Decree 34, civil service was a matter of local authorities were Emirs and local heads have sway. I guess at present, Nigeria has the worse educational system in the world.
If you know the era of local authority and how one regional premier boasted about given regional jobs of high positions to foreigners and expatriates instead of Ndigbo and other southerners who were even more qualified than the expatriates, you embrace Decree 34 which unified the Nigerian civil service with civil service commission which brought Levels 1 to 17.
codemaniacs: 1966 was a coup by hatred filled Nzeogwu who hated non-igbos with passion.
in the 1960s , nzeogwu exhibited such hatred towards Yorubas.
"According to a Nigerian Police Special Branch Report, nzeogwu executed at least 4 army and police security personnel including one of the men on his team (Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke). nzeogwu also participated in the execution of Col. Raph Shodeinde, his superior officer at the Nigerian Military Training College and is reported to have shot indiscriminately at fleeing women and children.."..
the statement above shows pure hatred for Yorubas and a lot of igbos all have this similar behavior towards Yorubas.
The Igbo coup leaders did not mean well for Nigeria and wanted to forcefully take over all regions in Nigeria and that's why they only targeted non-igbo leaders.
It's not the business of igbos if there's corruption in the northern region, mid West region and Western region..
Their business should start and end in the Igbo region and not the entire eastern region.
According to a Yoruba dude, Nzeogwu's best friend was a Yoruba.
Nigerians Condemn Kanayo O Kanayo Tribalistic Campaign
If Kanayo O Kanayo is not Igbo, will these fools indulge in these idiotic rants against him and the candidature of Peter Obi? Kanayo O Kanayo has every inalienable right to sing the glorified praises of Peter Obi. Among these goons who seemed to be twisted because of Kanayo O Kanayo's video are the worse tribally inclined Nigerians. Nigeria is simply a tribal entity and shall remain so until the coming of disintegration period.
PDP missed serious opportunity by scheming Peter Obi off its presidential ticket. Peter Obi should have been the flagbearer of PDP in this electioneering circle. If this was case, I should have predicated easy passage for PDP. PDP will loose this election because its unwavering base has left the party. It could equally suggest the end of PDP.

The issue with the above post is can the jackass afford the amount of money.
Why would SSS want to arrest the governor of Central Bank without a due process? If CBN boss had any issue with the law, it is the job of police not SSS or DSS to investigate or lead the investigation in conjunction with other agencies.
Image123: i decided to make this short thread to answer the question so many Obi followers have been asking me and i guess others about Tinubu condemning OPC before Obi can condemn IPOB. i got so many mentions on the same issue that i was surprised. i don't understand if Tinubu is their role model that they must foloow to act right. i guess the mob direction started from last month when the spokesperson of the LP PCC asked the same question, maybe he sent it in their whatsapp group chat or something.
Here is the quote on Vanguard
For starters, OPC was not a separatist organisation like IPOB but according to them a nationalist, regionalist, and vigilante organization. Separatist is by law unconstitutional as it threatens the sovereignty and peace of a country, which its leaders swear to protect. IPOB basically wants Biafra, another nation. OPC started as a specific reaction to the annulment of the elections of June 12, 1993. Their main aim was to make Abiola get his "stolen mandate" and to protect yoruba interests. It has since evolved into several different roles as it has adapted to the changing political and security environment in Nigeria. Of course, Abiola died in 1998 and OPC took up more of a vigilante or security role. Many people in SW knew them then for this, fighting crime, catching kidnappers, robbers and so forth with so called juju. They broke into factions which made their functions difficult to define as they were part self-determination organization, part vigilante group. Once they started violent confrontation with members of other ethnic groups, human rights abuses and acts of violence. The FG led by a yoruba man OBJ declared shoot at sight on them and the SW supported it. Of course, the people and even SW government still had some soft spot for the faction involved in crime fighting so it became kind of messy to support or not support. They were like the Amotekun of today, though not so organised. OPC did not have say over the SWest or disrupt economic and security of the people. They did not go about kidnapping soldiers, killing and beheading yorubas and political office holders. They did not enforce sit at home or burn markets and properties, police stations and government offices or greatly threaten the stability of government. They have been majorly under check and wings clipped since that time, around 2001 or so. Only hypocrisy will make us compare the two. The SEast is losing trillions of naira due to ipob activities, while Tinubu was increasing IGR from 600million to about 8billion in the midst of inconsequential OPC activity. As an aside, i happened to live around the area Fasehun(the OPC leader then) lived in Lagos at that period. There was no insecurity, no fightings, no shacklings whatsoever. i even knew his family by face then. Why do i add this, because it is something i remember and was there, not just something i read online.
Do you mean a nationalist as in the quest for the so-called "One-Nigeria"? I guess OPC is simply a cultural organization which is completely deluded. However, OPC should be properly tagged separatist organization if its aim is to actualize Republic of Oduduwa. I think cowardice is a huge hurdle for OPC.
christistruth01: After the coup Ironsi embarked on a Misinformation Campaign to Cover up the True details of the coup
Read let “ Truth be told “ by david Muffet”
Can you believe that Ojukwu was in Kaduna during the time Sardauna and Ademulegun and their wives were assassinated ?
Col Sodeindes Wife even said she saw Ojukwu talking to Soldiers on Ademuleguns Staircase when she had gone to Report her Husbands death to Ademulegun
She then hid herself because she found the scene to be very Suspicious
Little did she know that Ademulegun himself and his wife had already been assassinated too
The British declassified Papers also Confirmed that Ojukwu had returned to the Kano Battalion that he Commanded from Kaduna at 8 am on the Morning of the coup
Ambassador Fafowora in his book “ lest I forget “even went further to say that on. his way to London that day when the Plane stopped at Kano to pick passengers , Ojukwu and his Soldiers went on Board and arrested a man who they thought was Prime Minister Balewa’s brother
What does that tell you?
Ojukwu and Ironsi were part of the coup
Ironsi and Ojukwu were part of the coup that was why azikiwe was warned to escape but the coup plotters insisted on waiting for Sardauna to return from Saudi Arabia 2 days earlier before Carrying out the coup
Azikiwe sent a telegram to Gen Ironsi from London on the 16th of January addressing Ironsi as the Head of State
Ironsi didn't take over Power until the following day
That meant azikiwe already knew of the Plan by Ironsi to take Power before it happened
It was the British Commonwealth Office from where Miss Emery who was azikiwe's Secretary had sent the telegram that informed azikiwe that Dipcherma the Northern Minister of Transport was acting in Balewa's Place as Head of the Rump Cabinet and not Gen Ironsi and that it would be a good idea to resend the telegram to Dipcherma instead
Below is the Video of azikiwe on the day Azikiwe left for his Medical Vacation in October 1965 he was well enough to inspect a guard of honour and take the Salute
So why didn't he attended the Commonwealth leaders Conference which held in Lagos 2 days before the Jan 15th 1966 coup ?
Azikiwe definitely knew what was coming and he knew it was going to be very bloody
I cannot say if Ojukwu was in Kaduna however Kaduna was the seat of the First Brigade HQ was included Fifth Battalion, Kano which Ojukwu commanded. Only a fool who has not been on parade ground would believe that CO of Fifth Battalion would leave his seat at battalion HQ during coup atmosphere to search a plane when nobody knows who belongs to the group of putschists. I guess the scene reported by the Yoruba is not the one which involved Major James Olusegun Obasanjo who was matched off the plane by Lt. Ike Nwachukwu, the than ADC to Lt Col Ojukwu at Fifth Battalion in Kano.
