The northerners claim that dey used their money from groundnut to develop the oil in Niger Delta.

One of our security guys in PH who's from Jigawa state always argued with me. He said if Nigeria must be divided, that the oil in the ND should be divided too, because they used their money from groundnut to develop it.

Meanwhile this guy didn't even attend primary skl, so he's a stark illiterate. I asked him who told him that, he said that's what they taught them in the mosque
Northern region of Nigeria actually contributed money to the coffers of Shell D'Arcy when the company was cash trapped.

Maxymilliano:
Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri has explained that oil wasn’t developed in Nigeria by money made from cocoa farming but money invested by international oil companies.

The governor, on Thursday, during an interview on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily said many Nigerian leaders wrongly spread the notion that cocoa money was invested into oil exploration in the country.

A lot of people make a mistake and say we used cocoa money to developed oil, that’s not true.

“Multinational, international oil companies came with the capital in oil exploration and exploitation. There was no money from Nigeria, every money that came was monies from those who came to develop oil here. These are the issues Nigeria needs to resolve,” Diri said.

Even though Bayelsa State is an oil-producing state, the governor said his administration is working to re-orientate youths to go into farming.

According to him, farming is a priority and everyone in the state is encouraged to key into it.

“Agriculture is a priority for this government, we are working hard to have a change of mindset of our youths to key into Agriculture. Tomorrow, the Akwa-Ibom governor is coming into Bayelsa to flag off the farming season. He will also superintend over the made-in-Bayelsa Agriculture show.

“Oil is almost going; we cannot continue to live (dependent) on oil. The focus of this government is agriculture. Let us all key into Agriculture,” the governor said.

Oil according to the NNPC was discovered in Nigeria far back in 1956 at Oloibiri in the Niger Delta after half a century of exploration. The discovery was made by Shell-BP, at the time the sole concessionaire, and the country’s economy has since been largely dependent on oil production.

Western region of Nigeria did not contribute a kobo to the development of crude oil exploration in Nigeria. In 1948, Shell D'Arcy started crude oil exploration in Ondo. However, after many futile attempts to strike crude oil and empty pocket, the company requested money from the quasi-regional governments in order to continue the exploration. Western region refused to support financially. Eastern region agreed to support if Shell D'Arcy will resume the exploration in eastern region. Even northern region contributed money. Shell agreed and moved its head quarter to Owerri. In 1951, Shell struck crude oil at a community called Iho-Dimeze, 8miles north of Owerri. However, Shell did not have the technology to handle the enormous natural gas and requested certain section of the community to be transplanted to Obudu which resulted into extreme hostility towards Shell by the entire community of Iho. Shell had to seal the well and moved southward where in 1953 struck crude oil at a place called Akata in today's Akwa Ibom State. However, the quantity was not of a commercial one. Shell continued and struck crude oil in a commercial quantity in 1956 at a place called Oloibiri in today's Bayelsa State. Two years later, Shell struck again in a bigger commercial quantity at a place called Owaza in today's Abia State. The headquarter of Shell remained at Owerri until 1967 when the war broke out between Nigeria and Biafra then moved to Port Harcourt. However, Yoruba went to work and convinced the Shell to move the headquarter of operations from Port Harcourt to Lagos. Nigeria would have been a better place without certain individuals.

Afonjas are very good at stealing other tribes properties.

No be only Cocoa money na Cocacola money.

How come Afonjas stopped making money from their cocoa all of a sudden? Is it bad to continue making money off such viable venture or are they saying cocoa is no longer being used around the world today??

Very thieving tribe. All they know is to reap where they did not sow.

70% of Afonja landlords today stole their properties from Igbos in 1967.
The Lagos State that Afonjas claim as their greatest achievement was the Federal capital developed by Abokis using Niger Delta and South East oil and palm oil money. Afonjas contributed nothing.

Mark my words, once Nigeria breaks up, Oduduwa Nation will be colonized by either Arewa or Biafra.
They are also bold liars!!!

As far as the world and federal government is concerned, Kanu never left Nigeria.

So there is no need for explanation.

Igbos suffer from a disease called Group Narcissism. Also known as Collective Narcissism.

This ludicrous post by the OP, and subsequent responses to it by his ilk, typifies the disease.

COLLECTIVE NARCISSISM

What is Collective Narcissism?

In social psychology, collective narcissism (or group narcissism) is the tendency to exaggerate the positive image and importance of a group to which one belongs. The group may be defined by ideology, race, political beliefs/stance, religion, social class, language, nationality, employment status, education level, cultural values, or any other ingroup. While the classic definition of narcissism focuses on the individual, collective narcissism extends this concept to similar excessively high opinions of a person's social group, and suggests that a group can function as a narcissistic entity.

Collective narcissism is related to ethnocentrism. While ethnocentrism is an assertion of the ingroup's supremacy, collective narcissism is a self-defensive tendency to invest unfulfilled self-entitlement into a belief about the ingroup's uniqueness and greatness. Thus, the ingroup is expected to become a vehicle of actualisation of frustrated self-entitlement. In addition, ethnocentrism primarily focuses on self-centeredness at an ethnic or cultural level, while collective narcissism is extended to any type of ingroup.

When applied to a national group, collective narcissism is similar to nationalism: a desire for national supremacy. Collective narcissism is associated with intergroup hostility.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_narcissism
.
.
.
.
.
Collective narcissism is defined as an emotional investment in a belief in the unparalleled greatness of an in-group contingent on external validation.

It is a group level, equivalent of individual narcissism. It focuses on grandiosity and entitlement of an in-group rather than the self. People can be collective narcissistic about any group they belong to. We researched collective in context of national, ethnic, religious, football fans and gender groups. As well as mundane social groups such as university peers.

Correlates on individual level

An individual that scores high on Collective Narcissism tends to perceive a larger number of threats and stereotypes of other groups. Its own personal insecurities combine with also more aggressive behaviour display and derogatory towards other groups, looking for more validation from peers. The behaviour towards other groups tends to be cautious and easily sways to aggressiveness if the group is criticized.

Collective Narcissism is related to other forms of group identification and in-group attachment:

Collective narcissism correlates personality predictors of prejudice: right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance orientation.

Collective Narcissism is not directly related to personal self-esteem. It is related to low personal control. It’s correlation with grandiose narcissism ranges from -0.008 to 0.29. It is systematically correlated with vulnerable narcissism.

Correlates on inter-group attitudes level

Collective narcissism is related to hypersensitivity to inter-group threat. It is related to retaliatory inter-group hostility. Related to prejudice towards social groups regarded as threatening. Due to it’s hypersensitivity to inter-group threat and a tendency to perceived insult, many groups can fall into this category.

This exaggerated sensibility towards other groups can be explained by the narcissistic nature that the group makes of itself and its members, much like the self the self-worth of individual narcissists is contingent on the constant admiration of others, meaning that the in-group needs constant approval and admiration from others as well.

There was no Bassey who was Ironsi's mate, not even Wellington Duke Bassey who was commissioned the same year as 2Lt, yet Ironsi was promoted to Lt. the same day. Ironsi enlisted in 1942 while Duke Bassey was enlisted in 1946. Wellington Umoh Bassey enlisted in 1949, the year Ironsi was commissioned 2Lt. and promoted Lt. What kind of Wickedness was that ?

And it was this very same Ojukwu that always used to go on and on and on about how Army Hierarchy and Seniority must always be followed at all costs.

The Photograph of the first Nigerian Officers and it’s description was from the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page

Again you were wrong about Akahan
Joe Akahan was a cadet in UK when the picture was taken in Nigeria in 1959. Joe was not even commissioned talk less wore officer's uniform with the rank of Lt. Ojukwu should have been a rank above Lt Col. Umoh Bassey if he, Ojukwu, did not convert to regular combat officer with lose of rank. Ojukwu had master's degree when he was commission as Lt. in 1957 with seniority backdated to 1955. This means Ojukwu could be double prompted when next he is due for promotion. It happened to Ironsi who was commissioned as 2Lt and promoted to Lt. the same day.
