I really feel for you and as a woman totally know what you are going through, we reach a stage and age when we feel we can't do much better and settle for the familiar even if it is the very thing you should be running away from. I think you have had a long time to really know what your fella is like and maybe blind love, or just being used to a situation you feel you have no other choice. Well you do and from what you say i feel you two a so wrong for each other. He wants a totally submissive wife and i dont think its a bad thing if that is what he wants but if that is what you can't be then you two should not waste each other's time any longer. Your relationship seem to have too much against it. You mention trust and you two clearly dont have it by playing tit for tat games with your trust. Tell you what i did some time ago in a bad relationship, take time out, think of the things you love and hate about him and the relationship , if you have more minuses than pluses, babes just bite the bullet and part ways.Its not easy to do but you have to think of the long term, dont get married thinking you can conform to his idea of what a wife should be and then find you are unhappy, you may love some things about him but you might not be right for each other.

Why should the relationship always be on his terms? this is an indication of how selfish and uncompromising he could be in a marriage. people forget that when two people come together they bring a whole load of history, baggage, uprbringing and personality into it and to sometimes impose unrealistic expectations on another is selfish . He is who he is and you are who you are at the end of the day, if you dont compliment each other, buzz off each other,work in tandem then you are a bad match. Your scenerio requires someone to change character and that is wrong.

Take care and i hope you come to some sort of peace about this, there is no right or wrong time for marriage, many succumb to pressures and oh what will people say after such a long relationship no marriage. Well leave people to their thoughts, its you who decides if you will be happy or unhappy.

well guys idont know if its the name or the story that is funny
But when i was in school i am talking 14/15yr old, we had this new boy in our class and my friends and i joked about how he looked wierd and there was something about him that cracked us up every time we saw him , so out of the blue i said hey look at ''okiemute'' of course this was not his name and we all secretly called him ''okiemute every time. One day my friend came to visit and my dad brought home his old friend and he had with him a little girl and i was busy saying to my friend thats my uncle and i heard him call out, ''okiemute'' his daughter to my horror, my friend ran out laughing and wanted to die. I never knew it was actually a name and for the love of God dont know where it came from. Any way it was ironic and served me right for being a little snob and a horrid teen I still think its a silly name real or not

I dont see colour

Some people have a tough time mixing and balancing cultures, some dont. Some people outright rule it out for their own reasons. Some people are ignorant and wont associate and thats a shame.

For me not a problem cause i married mine and we dont see colors at all. Its a case of what floats your boat, or in my case i fell for who i fell for regardless, he could have been any race with thesame soul.

Do you mind if i ask his and your age? and is it in your culture to marry more than one wife? and are you ok with it? it seems  you dont mind and is more a case of wanting to know if he is serious about you. My opinion is, the things he tells you , that you feel are convincing dont ring so true with me. He might be telling you what you want to hear. If you are young which you sound like i would not recommend starting life as a second wife. All this talk of money and cars    please dont buy into it, whats more important happiness, love and faithfulness or the cars, house,no love and doubts? Think long and hard please

I think it is when you dont want to hurt each other, you respect , you can put up with his rugby, football,golf,cricket,baseball,ice hockey etc every weekend. I think also when you have a fight and forget about it so quick cause you are good friends too. Thinking nothing of those otherwise annoying habits anymore. Loyalty, support,praise,truth,constructive criticism and inspiration are some markings of love. Enjoying his company, allowing his annoying friend come over to watch footie with him and feed his loud ass.

Those butterflies are lovely, but realistically they dont flap so much after a long time. There are stages of love and i am liking the stage i am at , hope it gets better and to those who dont know the feeling yet, dont worry you will. There is a someone for everyone.

This is funny, unfortunately i have to kiss him cough and all, thing is we are married and live together so bound to catch it anyways or maybe not. If you had asked me when i was single , i would say No No , dont even take public transport cause i used to avoid colds and coughs like the plague

I so agree with you , well the suposed fashion crimes or suicide should not bother you , if you like the style and know how to work it then who cares about the rules.

I try to be individual about the things i buy and usually go to boutiques or some markets here in london for my gems.

I like vintage acessories so go rooting through charity shops and i dont buy into all trends in other words i dont always let the cat walk dictate what i wear. at the moment i am enjoying experimenting with african fabrics and mixing them with your normal jeans.

You seem to have taken this topic to a different direction and you seem also to have taken this personal. I was hardly lambasting anyone like you put it lol.

Are you also saying that because i dont have my picture up here i am ugly? i hope not cause i would like to think you are more educated than that and would be a terrible assumption to think that not having a pic up equates to one being ugly. If that is your view then half the people in here are ugly. I am sure like many it is not wholy important to display one's pictures to receive thumbs up from the internet community, not knocking those who chose to ,hey! whatever rocks yah boat.

Oh sweetie please lets not get into analysing phrases and statements, Cause quite frankly You dont have a clue half the time. You say the poster said ''dont i look beautiful'' as opposed to ''do i look beautiful'' come on, it is definately subject to criticism as any viewer would look at this and form an opinion on whether indeed the poster is or isnt. Now i didnt say she was ugly , if you read carefully what i was specifically touching upon was the inner beauty of a woman and people expecting or graving acceptance off others on what their idea of beauty is,it is something that is both dangerous and doing more harm to young women today. Now i only replied at the risky of sounding too deep on a light hearted post to put the point clearer to you specifically.

On a final note to the poster beauty comes from within, the way a woman carries herself, her attitude, her poise, her intelligence and many more attributes come before the physical and she is pretty, I dont know her to say she is beautiful it takes time and growth.

I have watched with great interest the activities of some in Nairaland. What drew me was the atmosphere at first , but i get a shiver these days at the route the land is taking, I fear some of us are taking this forum to a place i really don't want to associate with any more.

I see a trend of disdain and outright disrespect of the christian and moslem faith being propaganded. I left the general forum to the christian in the hope that i will meet like minded people, but find where it says christianity for christians is not so and islam for islamic not so.

Maybe some will say i can not take criticsm, not true, but frown on outright disrespect by many who feel their unbelief or athetist views are always right.

I see a trend that if not checked would cause problems as many users are very young and impressionable and like i said if not checked alot of our young users will fall into wicked hands.

As christians we should tithe, though i am not regular myself, i try , and i want to because the bible tells us to.
the OLD and New testament are applicable to all, the problem is most christians pick and choose what suits them , some totally disregard the old testament forgetting that is where all the laws by God are found and the real church was based on that foundation,it saddens me that we can be one , unscrupulous people cloak themselves in saintly robes to squeeze the people dry and this us to upset me, but i was praying one day and this is what was imparted on my mind, i must not worry about what the wolves in sheeps clothing do , but trust that god will weed them out in his own time. and there have been prime examples here in the uk where the money hungry preachers have been exposed.

So i tithe because it is the law , not just to the people of that time but also to us now and yes Jesus did not come to change the law but fulfil it, i am not claiming to be an authority on the bible but i am studying daily and encourage all to. Let the fact that there are some amongst us who are shady and indeed devils put us off, because it wont be an acceptable excuse on the judgment day. If you feel where you worship might be raising signals in your mind, pray and ask to be led to a place that is right ,it's what i did, trust me there were certain gatherings i found myself and the insincerity was so strong i felt like lounging for the preacher of lies and breaking his neck, instead i excused myself and asked God for forgiveness for my impure thoughts.

She invited criticism and i didnt know expressing one's views was discouraging others from using forum, I could say the same for some of your post and the not so civil tone or langauge from yourself. Is it a case of one rule for you and another for rest of us who use ''your'' forum? I hope not.

Hello Timmy when i first read your post i thought awww, its some young kid going through same things we all had to go through with our mummies and daddies . Then like i always do before replying to any post i checked your profile and found out you are in fact 26yrs old
Now Timmy dont take this the wrong way but most of the people advicing your are really very young and one wud expect ppl of that age to hate their parents , but its a phase and we get over it. But Timmy i am sorry but your responses and the way you come across says immature. and i feel you should probably change your attitude towards your folks and then they will begin to respect you. 26? pls do some growing fast. Most ppl have and are goin through worse .

I had to grow up at 18yrs. I know in Nigeria it is the norm to have children stay in their parent's homes till they are financially able and that is just because as we all know the system lets down young people, however dont take for granted the fact your parents put u up. I know some people having it worse off as we speak and dont have the luxury of a computer to rant about how they hate their parent so much to anyone who would listen. I guess what i am saying Timmy is change your attitide, appreciate the little they have done for you cause i refuse to believe they are all bad , restore some faith with your folks and you will see the difference.

i am not taken in by this at all, cleverly mapped out so that alot of people fall under the traits mentioned , its easy to formulate i have done a study similar in psychology. Fun though nice way to kill 2mins.

I can not believe how callous and undignified women have become, then they scream our men are dogs. This girl needs to tell her boyfriend and its up to him to either carry on with the relationship or break it off, there is no running form the truth and if he decides to give it a go i suggest a trial period to be sure that the girl and her boyfriend can move on then maybe marriage if its meant to be. But it takes a special person to forgive such disloyalty and tell your friend not to expect forgiveness as that take a hell of a long time to get.

Your friend's behaviour is disgraceful its her love for money and high living that got her in the mess and really no man deserves a woman like her and thats coming from a woman. If she chooses the cowards way out by lying and scheming her way through this in the hope he'll never find out, then she should expect a life of unhappiness cause the truth always has a way of coming round to pinch us in the butt when we least expect .
