chio: Well for me i use boss revolution. An i think it is pretty much better.lust checked their website and compared it to that of Raza Card.My $5 Raza gives me 170 mins to 9ja mobile lines. |
obinnaud: Pls I was a customer care representative with one of the telecommunications companies in Nigeria and I have series of professional certifications in my line of profession. Do u think it would be possible I get a job in d US in dat same career or sumfin similar?Nothing is impossible for God to do, US is a land of opportunities... just be focused + remain optimistic and it'll surely happen. |
edimop: Hello forumites.....Am happy to witness d unceasing testimonies dat has bin goin on in ds wonderful forum......I pray dat more testimonies shall abound ijn......Wishing all Dv2014 winners God's grace and favour as u go abt ur processes and interviews. So unfortunate to hear that, I had a similar experience & had to weather the storm. My sincere advice is for her to look for a church member or friend that has someone here who can accommodate her for a short time and at the same time prepare her mind to rent a room once she lands... it aint easy though but with God on her side it will. |
obinnaud: Tanks idriez. Am so grateful. Are u in Texas?U welcome.... No, I'm in Virginia |
oyidiyaagbayi: No, am only 2 weeks old in Us and I have applied 2 a school , financial aid for my education, submitted my waec result because I have 2 be a secondary school holder 4 me to qualify 4 the financial aid , so I didn't show my degree result. Maybe this week I will take the accuplace test 4 them to know where to place me. I am not working yet, so I also applied 4 food stamp and medical insurance to show how I intend to survive for the time being.Really, you applied for food stamp? If I may ask why?? and who adviced you to ![]() I'm just curious and wondering cos it might affect you in future o. |
obinnaud: Hello my fellow nairalanders, to God be d glory IHere's my personal quick response to your questions: 1. Using blackberry here will cost you more than using or subscribing to mobile data on your phone, if you can afford it; Good. My sincere advice is for you to get a lycamobile sim card & choose a basic plan that comes with limited data which starts from $16/mth or more depending on your data need, it's the cheapest offer you can get anywhere and it gives you affordable rates to international lines + unlimited international text too. 2. Its better you book the tickets together to avoid high fares, long waiting-time & extra cost on baggages cos you'll have to pay for all baggages on local flights within US, or alternatively you take a cab/bus from New York to Greyhound/Peterpan station to take a coach to your destination. 3. Travel Allowance is as much as you can afford cos nothing is too much considering the fact that you might need to move around, possibly get some peronal stuffs for yourself, pay for drivers licence, training(if needed) etc... I had to rent a room & buy needed funitures 1 mth after arrival, so prepare well... |
At Idriez, nice to know my brother-Nigerian is close by. Please, in-box me your number on ifeanyi.abdul@yahoo.com
I've sent you a mail & equally added you on FB, do acknowledge & confirm. |
Good morning Forumites! I salute o!! Let me use this opportunity to thank every one on this forum who has contributed in any form to give knowledge and enlightenment to me and others. From the depth of my heart, I say THANK YOU! Firstly, I will like to inform you all that I finally ported from Nigeria to Virginia with my whole family. I stay with my host in Woodbridge city, Prince William County. Although, we are still settling down, waiting for our green card; but I thank God that our social security number landed within 1 week. Settling down is slow and gradual. We came in through Turkish airlines with a 7 hours stop over at Istanbul and landed at the Washington Dulles International Airport. We were told by our host that we could apply for free meal and health insurance for our kid(s) via www.pwcs.menus.schoolfusion.us\. We are yet to secure employment, since we are still settling down. Could someone please help answer this question: Is there any future negative implication of taking this opportunity of this "free free things"? e.g. someone said, when applying for citizenship or loans or some other benefits, one may be denied because of this initial benefits. How true is this? Although, the person who told me said that that is how it works in U.K.?
There's no issue with you applying for these things as long as your host supports your application cos they'll(host) need to support with some docs too. Where in Woodbridge are you? I stay in stafford & planning to move over to prince william county cos of commute. You can add me on facebook or drop your line & I'll give you a call. |
jidex001: I pay $40 for simple mobile with 250mb. Free International text message incusive.Try Lycamobile, I thinks its cheaper & better, also runs on the same network with Simplemobile plus gives you cheap rates to Naija... Check it out. I used it in UK & now here too. |
oayombo: Please house, i need this urgent info. I have a relative that won as a single, got married and even had a child before her interview. They were all granted visas. The issue now is, i want to help them pay their green card fee and they are sceptical about case number, they have different case numbers on their visas but on the slip given to them at the embassy only a unique case number was written there. They all have different alien numbers, obviously. So my question is, which case number should they use.Use the Registration Nos on their visas but you will need to add A b4 the Nos, each person has a differnt Alien No i.e. Principal Applicant will have 1 as the last No, Spouse - 2 & Children 3+ depending on the no of children. |

engyadewale: My greetings to all honourable members of this hallowed room. May Almighty God increase you all in knowledge, wisdom and understanding. It's my desire to articulate certain interrogations about the payment of USCIS which is 165 dollars. I read on this forum sometimes ago that certain letters were to be changed or added to the alien number given by the embassy but I still do not understand. Please I covet your illumination on this.Guy!!! I gbadun your use of grammar o.... (lol). On the USCIS payment that you need illumination on, you will need to add 0 b4 the Alien no i.e. A012345678 instead of A12345678 and you can pay with a GTBank debit card linked to your current account(from my experience) or a dollar funded Visa card. I hope these succour your queries. |
sendtodeji: Here you go.I will check it out... thanks a bunch |
sendtodeji: They have a long list of trainings that qualify. I can tell you that most IT trainings qualify. You should give them a call to see if you can start the process while you wait for your SSN. You can always show them the stamp on your passport as a substitute for your GC. What state are you in? I can lookup WIA in your state. Thanks Bro... I'm in VA |
Obiagu1: I just want to change my previous email to a new one but that cannot be done because it keeps saying "You need to verify your new email address before it is changed. Continue editing your profile"I'm having this same issue, kindly help look into this |
Bored!!! what else can I do while waiting for GC & Shola-Shola o ![]() |
sendtodeji: For folks interested in obtaining training and are concerned about the cost, you should contact the nearest WIA (Workforce Investment Act). They might be able to fund your much desired training/education. WIA is a federal government program operated through the states. Your training provider has to be registered with WIA for them to agree to pay your tuition.Does it cover short term trainings e.g. CNA or CCNA and can one apply for it without the GC & SSN? |
My e-family, I hail o! Yesterday, I chatted with an old friend of mine back in the days at the University of Ilorin. I have beautiful memories of us playing basket-ball together and worshiping together. He moved into Texas via the dv lottery in November last year and was very willing to offer assistance and guidance to me. He got a good job 3 weeks after he arrived U.S. Lucky, you may say! He last worked with Airtel in Jos and has telecom work experience. He asked if I had some telecom experience, but I said no; he said his employer even asked him to bring anyone or introduce anyone he knows with telecom experience. This is an open invitation to members of the house, as a potential opportunity waits for interested members with experience in the telecoms. If you think you can give it a try, please contact me!!
Hey bro! I hope the offer(s) still available? I'm just reading this and wont mind if you can hook me up with your friend cos I have telecoms experience though yet to get my GC & Shola-Shola. I'm also in Virginia. |

challawa: Please house how do I pay for the 165dollars immigrant fee here?can I pay it using my master card or verve card?which other way can I pay it?thanksYou can use your Mastercard |
rood boy: Am Appy 4 you Mr idriez, more blessin ahead of u sir. Thanks Man!!! I anxiously await your testimony o |

edojariogba: Hello house i registered the dv lottery with waec as my highest qualification which i got since 2003 and i am a final year student of elet/elect engineering will the co ask me question from my waec? Since its been long since i did my o level i cant remember everything i did back then. Am a little bit confused since i dont knw where they will ask me questions fromBro, expect questions from your O' levels to your present level so be prepared. |
idriez: I tried it but unsuccessful; kept declining it, even tried with my wife's and same.I and family arrived JFK, on Thursday morning on-board Emirates Airline (23hrs 45mins total flight time); Men!!! it was like a journey round the world, the transit time in Dubai was instant and the flight from Dubai was full to capacity(people dey enter America en-mass everyday). This was my 1st time with Emirates and they didn't disappoint me; the food was too much compared to other airlines I've travelled with and I didn't expect they would serve wine on-board but they outwitted my doubt. As regards the GC fee, I was finally able to do it yesterday with my GTBank dollar Visa Card after numerous unsuccessful trials with the Naira MasterCard. So my advice to those having issues with GC payment is to either open a Dom account & get a card issued which you can now use to pay & transact here or you proceed with your travel plans and come with cash to do the payment here thru people you know. On a final note, Yankee na d place to be o... so I implore & want to encourage those that have gotten their visas and those waiting for their interview to come start preparation in earnest cos you've got to be here; how I wish I came in earlier than this but like the saying goes "God's time is the best" & I appreciate that. Prepare well, Have faith in him and you will testify like I & others are doing. |
Yusmash00: Are you the winner or your brother? The principal applicant & beneficiary are to pay the USCIS immigrant fee. Its will be better if he pays before departing. Use GTB naira card. It works good.I tried it but unsuccessful; kept declining it, even tried with my wife's and same. |

joecrown: For those of us preparing to relocate to US,please prepare your mind that at start it may look like hell and a lot of things will be so strange to you but always have that positive thinking that all will be well. The past few weeks of my stay here has been hell, for those of you that are planning to stay with someone you may not find it pleasant if you don't make it a short stay try as much as possible to be self dependent on your own after a little time . Lastly learn how to drive before you come to the US to speed up your roa test and your maneuver ability and be wise, ready to learn and don't do oversabi here.If I may ask bro, which state are you and how easy is it to secure an accommodation & settle in? |
joecrown: wot really happen is that I was not ask about the payment at the POE,I just handed over the file to the immigration officer and he ask me if I'm coming for the first time and I said yes..... I have been calling Elis help line for the past two weeks and they are sounding strange that they don't know the what I mean but I think the ELIS process is kind of tricky. 26FE95DC that's my pin u can add me and we can chatOk...
