Am happy that the young man turned out well inspite of the early exit of his dad.At least from his account,it is evident he is learned and well informed.
The Buhari/Idiagbon era was something else;Nigerians were forced to tow be disciplined in every sense of the word.
I don't belong in the Buhari camp and am not even sure he could do half of what he did then if elected,considering he was in the military then,but I honestly feel as a people,we need a leadership that would put us on the right track again.We need a leader who within the armbit of what is right would inject some measure of discipline in us.
The last thing we need now as a people is a lilly-livered leader.

Over what?
Must we always resort to violence?
When will my people leaarn that no politician is worth dying for?

I agree totally on the last point.Lack of openness could be frustrating.Openness is very vital in a relationship.

I heard lots of stories about how peace became alien in Ibadan during his tenure as governor;how nurtw leadership on his payroll made the state a living hell for the people.
About 2weeks ago,he came on a radio programme and the question was thrown to him.His response confirmed all I heard.That man is a breeder of thugs.
I just hope and pray the people of Oyo state would not be so naive as to give him the ticket for another term.

The disparity in fees for sitting and aspiring candidates is instructive -those already in power have stolen enough,so they have money to throw away.

I wondered aloud on this forum,what could have been the motive behind journalist Ibekwe going to town with that recording.
I even wondered if he was a cub reporter and so alien to the world of 'putra'.
Well,now I know he is not a baby journalist,and that his action was based on being 'pissed',so to say,with the system,and i concur.Whoever has been where journalists scramble for common refreshments at news conference would feel sorry for the practitioners.
Yeah,reporters thrive on reports and so whether they are appreciated or not,report they must.
The angle from which they report is another thing.

A serious overhaul is needed.The media owners have to look into remuneration.The journalists themselves need some kind of reorientation.
How can they perform the role of society watchdog effectively,when they are not well fed?Like some of them argued,Nick was rejecting the 'envelopes' because he had no bills to pay.
It will definitely be a long war and i know Nicholas Ibekwe with all his bravery,cannot win it alone.

The problem with APC is the right candidate.
I like the comrade governor.
But with all the consultations at home and abroad,does he have what it takes to win the primaries not to talk of the presidency?
Why is someone like BRF not vying?
I have a strong feeling the APC will give the presidency to the PDP on a platter of gold one more time,unless it gets its acts together and field a candidate whose achievements is evident for all to see and one loved by the majority irrespective of region,religion and other myopic considerations.
Is there such a man/woman in the APC?

If journalist Ibekwe is not a cub reporter,he must have been offered 'brown envelope 'a number of times.Is this how he has been going to the internet to announce his rejection of such?Or is the personality of TBJ the reason he has done this?
Am not a fan of the 'man of god',and I definitely feel there is more to what we see,but am not his judge.
As a journalist,anyone can offer you appreciation either in cash or kind.It is left to you to accept or decline.It is now a matter for your conscience to report what is right or otherwise.
In this case,that media interview would not be the window through which the world was seeing the building collapse.It was already in the news and it had been reported that scores of lives had been lost.So,what was his point?
Again he said Governor Fashola visited and held a closed door meeting with the man.How is that an offence?Was it not the same governor who told the 'mog'to order his church members to vacate the site?
Was he expected to make any pronouncements when Investigations were ongoing?
People like journalist Ibekwe are everywhere.They are the type who bring their subjective mindset into their profession.

Was just telling someone yesterday that this BH issue was still being treated with kid gloves.
I watched a bit of that report myself and i must say that Ogar woman keeps disappointing one by the day with her lack of professionalism.
Let me stop here before the insults start coming but let me quickly add that by the time we finish playing politics with our future,everybody would be affected one way or the other.
